Why do the British think they won the glorious revolution?

>Dutch goals: take the British throne from a papist.
>British goal: stop the dutch.
>Result: The dutch take the throne.

> If America invaded one more time the UK said it would not defend Canada
> You NEVER destroyed the White House.
The British forces destroyed our previous Capitol Building. This was a brown building. It was rebuilt, but they did not have enough paint so they painted it white. Hence the White House.

Learn history you stupid cunt.

Also we don't believe we won it. Most folks don't even know it happened.

Americans dont think about the war of 1812 at all.

Did Britain really used to rule the world? It ruled the USA too? How is that possible?

^this, i dont even remember learning about it in school

...

They didn't have enough paint so they painted it white? What kind of shit show were they running back then that they didn't have enough brown paint to paint a building?

>Thinking Canada was the only goal for America in the war of 1812

If you are going to do a bait post, at least have more info in it user

White wash is extremely easy to make

> t. Tom Sawyer

bunch of anglo traitors supported the dutch though

But we did successfully invade Canada.

TL;DR we invaded in July 1814, stayed all year long and there wasn’t a damn thing the British or the Canadians could do about it. We left of our own accord in November because Canada sucks in the winter.

British goal: retake America
American goal: stop impressment of Americans

American goal achieved, British goal wasn't

read a fucking book

they were loyal to country and faith, James II was the filthy traitor

White house white country

American goal was actually to get the British Navy to fuck off, and end England's goal of forming a Native American coalition, which ended up happening.

Brits can claim they "won" (officially a "draw") but the fact is American got what they wanted and the "Natives"(migrants from Asia) were the true losers of 1812.

Also, they burned D.C. because we burned down York (Canada's capital)

>Current British Goal: be colonized by shitskins and live in dystopian police state.
Congratulations, fellow Mehmets.

Be British

UKIP won the whole thing

it never happened.

its only taught in europe so that europoors can feel better about themselves thinking they ever got close to beating america

What I don't get is why Canadians think they won anything.

...

Yanks are traitors to the crown and would back stab their best mate in a heart beat. Sub humans.

we btfo those mutts

This

...

>British impressing American sailors into forced service
>British blockading our trade with the French
>British supporting Indian confederacies to slow our expansion West

If you think the war was about Canada, you put too much stock in Hamilton. The war was about getting Britain to stop all of the above, which they did. Additionally, we embarrassed the Royal Navy and gained control of the Great Lakes and Pensacola without losing any territory. We repelled THREE British Invasion (one on each coast). We even crushed Tecumsuh's confederacy. The only loser of this war was the Indians. We fucked them up and Britain abandoned them.

Lel fucking britbong doesn’t know war is over James Madison not renewing the Bank of America charter. Enjoy your rotting teeth and pajeet fucking your women while you try to be witty

No one really thinks we won the War of 1812. At best, we think we went toe-to-toe with Britain and emerged relatively unscathed. IN short, after several years of war, we showed that we could go to war with a superpower and go the distance.

There were a number or reasons for the war, including wiping out the Indian tribes the British were arming in American territory, screwing with our trade ships, impressment of sailors, and the dream of annexing Canada to rid the continent of British influence.

We achieved some goals, and failed at others. In the end, both countries were happy enough that they had achieved their goals and signed a treaty.

We really don't think we won it. The way it's viewed is as a sort of coming out party. Proof we could go 12 rounds with Britain and live to tell the tale. That and our national anthem came from a successful defense of a fort in Maryland.

45% and 56% are still white

only in america

i thought our goal was to stop you from kidnapping our citizens

America won the Battle of Oreleans 3 months after the war endes.

So I guess they had the last laugh?

Meanwhile you did little impact to us at all and we cucked you from aiding the south during the civil war due to our superior ironclad navy

We went to way to stop you from enslaving Americans into your Navy. We stopped you. Seems like a win

American goal was to stop the Indian raids and stop naval impressment by the British.

They failed in the impressment part, good job on that.

John Paul Jones led a raid on England

because you ran as we launched cannon balls from alagator

>>American goal; takeover Canada

No, it wasn't. Our objectives, plural, were to 1) Stop the British kidnapping and enslavement of American citizens on the high seas. 2) Obtain a cessation of British attempts to incite raids and acts of violence by American Indians against American citizen settlers in our western territories (the British at this point in our history were well remembered for having used Indians to commit atrocities against American colonists on the frontier during the Revolution) in violation of the Treaty of Paris. Canada was not the objective, but the strategy, of the war. The War Dept. determined that seizing Canada could be used as a bargaining chip to force Britain to stop committing and inciting wanton, unlawful acts of violence against the American people, as was their custom before the war. The American people had no intention of permanently annexing Canada, as evidenced for a law that was attempted in Congress for that very purpose, but which was defeated.

US really just wanted to say I'm a big country now, show up on the world stage.
