Not bad

Is Yuki Yase the director?

>ED by Kalafina

Character designs are pretty good.

First I was a little let down because they didn't 1:1 adapted Take's designs but I like the anime designs quite a lot.

If only they gave this to another studio.

...

How are they going to write the mystery scene?
It works in the book since there is no visuals, but in anime, it is going to end up making the suspect pretty obvious.

...

Yes, absolutely based.

Just wait

I guess this means he won't be doing 3gatsu.

Oh well.

Just kill me now really.

Fucking SHAFT, why the fuck did they have to ruin the designs?

I don't remember the details but I don't think the mystery is going to be any problem.

...

>Yuki Kajiura on soundtrack
They couldn't have picked someone that fits?

Now I'm interested.

...

...

Fuck off

...

They'll probably animate exactly as li-chan narrates, dropping a few hints and having some parts conveniently skipped like in the book, and then show the abridged full versions according to li-chan and aikawa final descriptions regardless of accuracy.

...

...

Shinbo is doing that.

Jun's design is ehh, but maybe she'd look better if she smiled instead of having that expression.

Akane, Maki and Yayoi look pretty nice.

...

...

Who is Jun's VA?

Anime designs are 90s as fuck.

Good shit.

Why didn't they just stick to the novel designs?

Wow, Watanabe's designs are actually fine

What are you talking about? They look like modern Shaft/Aniplex. Nothing 90's about them.

They're based on the newer art for the books

Because creative freedom.

SHAFT directors atm
Kizu: Tatsuya Oishi
Zaregoto: Yuki Yase
3gatsu: Shinbo
Fate/Extra: Tatsuwa? Miyamoto?
Zoku Owari?: Itamura?

>chief animation director - akio watanabe

RIP Shaft

Aniplex went too far this time

>animation director
>Hirofumi Suzuki

He is still alive? But nice to see they picked one who can into character acting.

Didn't mean to quote.

Zoku's obviously Itamura, and I highly doubt Tatsuwa would do Extra

No, they're not. Take's designs are super-stylized and almost cartoony, these look like generic anime.

that site looks slick as fuck.

Character designs look a bit More Take so hopefully the Desgin meme will end as it's already getting stale at this point

...

>Yuki Yase

Time for more Daiki Konno.
imgur.com/a/iVBmN?gallery

Can Oishi be part of the list? He most likely will be on hiatus after he's done with Kizu.

Don't forget Hirofumi Suzuki is also animation director.

>based on the newer art of the books
>he posts a cover of volume 1
>SHAFT design doesn't even look remotely close to Take's old art

Remember when the website showed this? I was actually fucking hyped.

Miyamoto is busy with whatever happens with Madoka after the concept movies.

>>he posts a cover of volume 1
That is what the OVA is adapting, and it's the current cover for the volume

Have you even watched a 90s anime?

...

The staff is gold.

why do people want these exact designs again

Watanabe also did a lot of stuff in the 90s.

But some of the stuff sure screams 90s.

>That is what the OVA is adapting
And? We aren't talking about what the OVA is adapting, but the character designs. In which you said

>They're based on the newer art for the books

Even though it looks nothing close to it.

So what is the logic in animating Zaregoto?
I know it is good but it has been almost decade since the books came out. Sup Forums always told me they are just ads, but in this case what are they advertising? Is there some new things coming out for this franchise?

Because memes and trolls.

Because it actually looks good and unique, unlike This one which looks like It's being adapted by A-1.

Shut the fuck up

>I know it is good

Don't let Nisiofags troll you. Zaregoto is trash.

Anime adaptation of older stuff is the new hot shit now.

The Star Of Guidance just got an anime adpation announced and the novel series is finished for 13 years.

I believe Saikyou Series is still ongoing which is somehow related to Zaregoto because of Aikawa.

do you see with your mouth or something

Kajiura and Kalafina. Getting prepared for the Madoka sequel?

Oh it's unique all right

So It's true, SHAFT fans do really eat up everything as long as It's from them. They should have just left Zaregoto alone and kept making monogatarishit.

Sucks they're doing both, huh

There are also Nobuyuki Takeuchi (who also did that excellent Penguindrum episode) and Yasuhiro Nakura who are basically waiting to become series directors.

>Nobuyuki Takeuchi
My nigga. I hope he gets to be a series director soon.

Isn't it funny how that one guy tries to start shit in every thread and no one really joins him?

>Nobuyuki Takeuchi
This series was perfect for him to debut, I'm honestly quite mad they didn't chose him for the job

Just imagine the world ending possibility of a Shaft anime by Takeuchi & Studio Pablo backgrounds.

Episode 9 of Penguindrum teased us a future too beautiful for us.

More Shaft, more nisio bullshit. I'm ready.

Can someone translate VAs?

The designs are meh, but I'll probably watch it since it's Zaregoto.

Akagami Iria - Ise Mariya
Handa Rei - Kuwashima Houko
Chiga Akari - Kuwatani Natsuko
Chiga Hikari - Shintani Ryōko
Chiga Teruko - Gotō Yūko

Sonoyama Akane - Shimamura Yū
Ibuki Kanami - Kawasumi Ayako
Sakaki Shinya - Hamada Kenji
Himena Maki - Endō Aya
Sashirono Yayo - Ikezawa Haruna

Aikawa Jun - Kaida Yūko

what's with the futuristic wheelchair here? that's the only thing i don't like. i would've preferred a normal wheelchair

>Director: The guy who did Mekakushitty actors
Thanks for nothing, Shaft

They're all geniuses and shit, she's got to have the hottest wheels.

>too shibireru desu ne
Fix'd

Jun's the only design that seems a little off to me, but the designs are actually not bad.

>crap was announced
good

>Kajiura
I thought this was supposed to be like Monogatari? The tone of Kajiura seems a bit to serious for that.

>Yuki Kaji for MC
So no Kamiyan, color me surprised. Fuck Yuki Kaji though, anyone would be better.

Still not feeling the character art.

It's her face, it might look better with more Jun-like expressions instead of that serious face.

No stars

Half Hidamari cast reunion, half all-star cast

>Also talking about 90s as fuck
>Houko Kuwashima

This screams Megaflop Shitty Actors all over again.

Agreed about Kajiura, if she pulls out her usual tracks, the tone is going to clash heavily. Hopefully she'll try something more minimalistic for this like Kosaki Satoru did for Monogatari.

>Aikawa Jun - Kaida Yūko
perfect

I'd prefer Satoru Kosaki, but oh well.

I can actually imagine Yuki Kaji doing a decent job, I don't think it's a bad choice.
