You can't get rid of religion. It's an innate quality for the human animal. You just end up with something like as your new religion. Good luck getting rid of "jews" as a religion. They consider themselves both a religion and an ethnic group. Anytime their's a political movement to "get rid of religion," it is always being pushed by a contingent largely dominated by jews and "getting rid of religion" always conveniently ignores getting rid of jewish religious practice.
