Completely ignoring the fact that traditional rifling would do nothing for photons as they exit the barrel there's an inherent issue with trying to rifle a stream of particles to being with.
Applying a spin to a stream of particles as they exit the barrel would only serve to disperse them and completely destroy its ability to engage any long range targets.
