Nazi Germany was a Socialist Authoritarian state. You do not have things like the SS unless it is. You couldn't protest, and if you did, you ended up dead or imprisoned. Authoritarian, even if the people loved it. Calm your nips.

It was totalitarian along with soviet union. Only Italy and the Iberian peninsula was authoritarian.
Neither tolerated dissent but for authoritarian regimes its ok to remain neutral while on totalitarian ones its mandatory for everyone to support the party (or at least to pretend to). Theres also less economic freedom and everything is either controlled or monitored.

Hitler literally called Germany an authoritarian state and his entire movement is based on 200 years of German intellectual movement that stated liberal democracies are a cancerous evil on the earth. Only an elite aristocratic government which could answer for it's decisions should ever have power, not the majority. The voter is never held responsible for his decisions, yet everyone suffers due to his choice of corrupt candidates who steal from the majority and minority alike.

Fun fact: Albert Speer had a huge slab of concrete poured in Berlin to test the soil to see if it could hold the weight of various structures in Germania and every year it slips further and further into the soil, very slowly. It's one of the few original structures in Berlin remaining from the Third Reich. The problem with that part of Germany is that it was built essentially on a swamp without draining the land.

Nazi Germany was not totalitarian. Not anywhere near the Soviet Union. It was authoritarian and that's the way Hitler described it. The Authoritarian State Model. It just worked more smoothly in Germany because Germans (As a result of their history and geography) are much more lenient to accept a paternal autocrat leading them with unquestionable authority.
