What's next for battle harems?

What's next for battle harems?

The main character is a NEET who dies and reincarnates into an alternate world, where he enrolls at a magical battle academy that was up until very recently an all-girls school. The only downside is that the MC scored the lowest marks in the physical examination because of his highly unconventional abilities, but despite that he is still arguably the strongest and most capable fighter in the school.

Hmm sounds pretty interesting what kinda of weapons will he use?

A shield.

Also, he has special ability to revive back a few minutes back in time after being killed and he becomes slightly stronger each time.

isekai battle harem

>not dual wielding katanas
dropped

While I'm pretty sure this is a joke, I will play along and say what would be kind of interesting is just his reincarnating going of the charts like, instant revival and dying several times in a single fight.

>tfw anime plots are so generic, this looks like something a text generator would come up with, but I'd still watch it.

Shield is pretty lame.

every time the Tsundere hits him for comedy he actually dies and is only saved by his power

eventually she finds out what she was doing to him and is emotionally devastated

That is the whole point. No one would ever suspect a dude with a shield to be strong.

Fuck you

Will this be isekai ONII-SAMA?

Cap disagress

Sure about that, soldier?

Also, all the elitists at the school make fun of him for being weak, but all end up jobbing hard when they challenge him to a mock battle.

Fund it

The shield is lame because there aren't a lot of interesting things that you can do with it.

>I slam my shield to the ground stunning everyone around me
>I can block attacks for a long time

Kind of lame

>No one would ever suspect a dude with a shield to be strong.

that's cute

It's a magic shield that copies any attack that it blocks and throws it back at the user.

I'll never know because I'll never watch them.

Just because you're uncreative doesn't mean the shield is a bad weapon. They've been telling Captain America stories since the 40s. I think they can make it work here

Hell for a battle harmen it might even be better to have the hero be the tank so the girls can actually prove useful in battle by being the DPS.

Honestly, I would mock it for being unoriginal but in the end I would still watch it because I can't get enough of cheap wish fulfilment anime

I havent seen a lot of CA so i dont really know what he does with it.

Doesn't he just throw it around? He is like a spandex Aussie

Yeah like a boomerang

Why do people keep calling Rakudai a harem? It's not even close to it.

>Girls useful in battle
Careful user! You don't want to shake the status quo so harshly.

So kinda like the paladins in Helck. Great power to have if you've got the stones to handle the suffering that comes with it.
You know so little.

Listen up you faggots.

Monogatari is NOT a harem. Arararagi walked Hitagi home gently.
Sword Art Online is NOT a harem. Kirito is dating Asuna and had sex with her. TWO YEARS WORTH OF GLOP.
Mahouka is NOT a harem. Onii-sama is asexual, and can only have feelings for Miyuki.
Nisekoi is NOT a harem. Ichijou is in love with Onodera, and as the title suggest, his love for Chitoge is FAKE.
Toradora is NOT a harem. Taiga fucking won.
Yahari is NOT a harem. 8man has been shown to have no romantic interest in any of them, just sexual attraction.
Danmachi is NOT a harem. Bell is clearly shown to only have interest in Ais.
Index is NOT a harem. Touma punches every girl he meets. That's not love.
Log Horizon is NOT a harem. Shirou is not a pedo, and the only other valid contender is Akatsuki.
Cross Ange is NOT a harem. Ange is straight and has no feelings for Hilda. Plus She and Tusk had SEX.
Absolute Duo is NOT a harem. Why do you think it's called Absolute DUO and not Absolute HAREM?
The World God Only Knows is NOT a harem. Keima confessed his love to Chihiro!
Dog Days is NOT a harem. Cinque and Millhiore declared their love for each other. Rebecca has no chance.
OreShura is NOT a harem. Eita is dating Silver. They even kissed in front of everyone.
Love Hina is NOT a harem. Keitaro and Naru got married and they love each other very much.
Saekano is NOT a harem. It's about how to raise _A_ boring girlfriend.
Rakudai is NOT a harem. Ikki proposes to Stella in vol 3!

I repeat: Rakudai is NOT A HAREM.

You know what's a harem? Asterisk. Asterisk is a shitty generic battle harem, unlike Rakudai, which is sophisticated and has a well though out romance.

Main Character is a NEET transported to an alternate world. Thinking of themselves as the Hero, and being special person attempts to enroll at the magical academy/city-state. During the entry exam however, they embarrass them self being incapable of using magic in anyway and is thrown out.

Luckily for him a noble girl attending the academy/watched his entry exam feels extremely sorry for him, and taking pity offers him a job as her servant. The Main Character mistakes this gesture of kindness for affection and while performing his job as Servant take it upon himself to become his new master's white knight, becoming extremely possessive and yandere over her as: He, some of his master's other servants, a few academy students deal with agents looking to restart a civil war between non-magic users and magic users.

I tried.

Also the MC's yandere actions pull in the attention of rivals to his Master who think of him as a useful pawn even though he sperg out moments, and want to recruit.

Stella a shit.

In many of those series multiple girls are in love with the MC, so they're still harems even though they end up with just one girl or the main couple is established early on.

>Index is NOT a harem. Touma punches every girl he meets. That's not love.

You know shit all about what constitutes a harem but that line was still funny as fuck.

He has yet to punch Index or Misaka.

This needs to be rectified.

More of the same generic shit

The first arc will have the main character get into a fight with the academy's current strongest fighter, a girl whose spitfire personality and drive to excel actually mask and belie her emotional insecurity.

The main character defeats her with his "weakest" ability, which sparks her competitive spirit and curiosity in him.

My God, I am brilliant. I'm so running this revolutionary idea right to the publishing office and then to the bank.

MC is a jaded fuck who is an ability-less tactician for a team of rag-tag magical academy girls. They all hate each other due to their different personalities and the MC due to his awful personality, but learn to become friends through the power of blowing away the clothing of the opposing magical girl teams.

>a girl whose spitfire personality and drive to excel actually mask and belie her emotional insecurity
I know we're having fun here but this has irked me a lot during the last decade. Can we have a badass chick who is genuinely secure and confident? I's always the same, every cool chick is masking some insecurities or worse, past drama shit.

The drama's an old, but good way to get the MC into the door, particularly those wishy-washy nice-guy types who don't have a dead parent to avenge or whatnot. He's intrigued with the girl, but given how deceptively asexual battle harems can be, can't outright say that he's sexually attracted with her looks, so they'll just have him around her to "protect her" or "be her shield" or "carry her burden".

So basically you want a strong independent Mary Sue with no personality flaws?

Main character is a trap in an all girls school while all the girls in the harem are princely reverse trap and tomboys.

Anime is a combination of reverse-harem otome and usual harem romcom scene since the girls only know how to seduce girls like the guys from shoujo manga.

MC is a kungfu, martial guy with a combination of Muay Thai, Kenpo and Jeet Kune Do. Other girls are styled after gunslinger(tsundere transfer student), sniper(kuudere classmate with a dark past), mage(shy kouhai), knight(ara ara senpai) and samurai(deredere loyal childhood friend).

>hero be the tank so the girls can actually prove useful in battle by being the DPS.

Life doesn't work like your fucking shitty videogames user.

...

Deconstruction.

Talkin' mess about shields, boi?

...

How about a generic battle harem where, instead of fucking around in a school the entire time, they actually focus on facing the primary threat?

Steven Univeerse?

Main character is a NEET abducted by wacko space Nazis to help them lead and control the ultimate battle harem. NEET MC has some strange power seen no where else able to rally these femme fatales (otherwise he's a worthless good-for-nothing), and he must fight to prevent asshole aliens from turning the human species into deformed little geckos to be eaten by the predatory animals of Earth.

MC and harem struggle to make progress in the war against the xenos until the girls learn to be idols.
Girls cripple the aliens with electropop music, them kill them.
MC becomes "the conductor".

I'm glad it's ending but I'm sad for it too.

She can have flaws other than to be a scared kitten in a tiger disguise.

MC transfers in to predominantly female Magic academy. MC scored highest on physical examination, but actually cheated to get there and doesn't even have powers/magic at all. After a challenge from the school's #1 ace (who's probably a fire wielding swordsman/foreign princess), MC Must again weasel his way out of conflicts without showing that he has 0 magic/ability. MC actively tries to gain a harem to amass power within the school but he can't seem to gain the love of the one girl he loves, The Sensei.

A good chunk of that sounds like Rakudai

I imagined it more like the MC tries to completely get out of any fight before anything happens. Kinda wanted the MC to be fairly manipulative; playing the dense MC to gain affection whilst crushing flags, using his harem as a force to control the school/get him out of conflicts without actually doing anything himself. If not the sensei route then definitely the quiet nerdy girl that sees through him but thinks he's a creep as main love interest. Bonus points if the girl is rarely on screen.

Kinda like if Tsuda from SYD was manipulative and went to some magic academy.

Heavy on the battle and light on the harem, but with actual character development and people other than the main character are actually allowed to be plot useful and win important fights.

...

All of this except gary stu transfer student isn't MC
MC is a garystu's best friend and is involved with the gambling scene for the battles that take place. MC gets further wrapped up with yakuza/gangs/mobsters that want to sabotage the matches

Literally mx0

>pornogatari
>not a harem

MC become a priest class but he only heals himself and all the girls love him because he doesnt give a shit about any of them while playing a support role. All the girls are fighting for him so they may have a chance to be the first person he heals other than himself. As soon as he heals someone else his harem will go away tho.

here is one, normal dude with a pretty decent phisical skill enrolls at a magica academy, he isnt special at all, he fails in magic because he sucks at it, he doesnt fall in love with the shitty tsundere princess, but he goes to train with the only phisical based club in the whole school, they are seen as underdogs and losers, but he has a talent with melee weaponry, he ends up falling in love with the shy but super cute glasses girl whose weapon of choice is a war axe, together they push forward the underdog club and become the strongest and most respected, having sex along the way like a normal couple would do.

make the club president a bancho and I'm sold

Aww fuck, have translations for the LN restarted anywhere? Haven't heard anything after the translator shut the project down out of translation fears.

Are there many LNs where the MC is primarily a healer? better still if he's a jaded asshole like real MMO healers tend to be.

>Index
There was a harem rejecter mate. If he's Kamijou's foil than he's got no other choice; he's gonna be the harem acceptor.
> Danmachi
Your retarded. Zeus fucking told Bell to make a harem; this holds significance because Zeus was his grandpa.
> Dog Days
I believe that squirrel girl said Cinque could marry multiple women. I would take that opportunity to have Yukikaze's Yukikaze's

Good thing anime isnt real life then

MC is transported to an alternate universe and is enrolled into a school filled with the most beautifull girls he's ever seen, each one more attractive than the last. Everyone has powers and the MCs powers are that he can make anyone he wants irriversable in love with him.
So MC sets out on a quest to create his own harem only to discover later on, after making many many girls fall in love with him, that ever "girl" in the school is actually a trap.

idiot

And that's why Rakudai is shit. On top of being so generic that other generic anime are more appealing. But no the harem GENRE means having a harem, not necessarily a return of feelings.

Seriously how many harem protagonists actually return their feelings? I can't even think of any. Except maybe Magika no Kenshi

>Rakudai is shit
Rakudai is generic shit by regular anime standards, but not shit, especially not when compared to all the other anime like it.

I don't know, I feel like Rakudai has some of the worst drama I've ever seen inserted into anything. The protagonist and the main girl also annoy the shit out of me.

>Nisekoi is NOT a harem. Ichijou is in love with Onodera, and as the title suggest, his love for Chitoge is FAKE.
Still salty I see.

I agree, Stella is by far the worst element in the story but the fights that show had and the fact they played around the themes of the show is what makes me like it.

It's been back up for 2 months.
Prologue for the final volume just got done.

But Stella was one of the best girls of 2015

I'm sad Kuraudo jobbed and we got some fucking group of kids as the villains.

Stella bogged that show down to oblivion. If Rakudai was just a story about Ikki's underdog story without any sort of wish-fulfillment self-insert romance then it would be exponentially better. Especially if Stella was replaced by Delinquentbro isntead.

The romance was what made Rakudai worth watching for me. The relationship was somewhat believable compared to how other stories play out, that is with the girl or the MC confessing only at the end even though it was obvious they had feelings for each other from the very beginning, or worse, no resolution at all. I know I should probably move on to manga for this stuff, but still.

>You know what's a harem? Asterisk.
Your autsim hasn't limits.

WHEN CAPTAIN AMERICA THROWS HIS MIGHTY SHIELD

Even when compared to other shows the romance in Rakudai was still very unrealistic. In my opinion I didn't find the romance aspect to be a saving grace for it. It was still garbage.
>Rakudai without Shitella and romance at all.
That sounds like fun. We hardly get characters who don't rely on others to make something out of himself. An underdog story sounds great .

Wait, Nisekoi ended?

But more importantly people thought Raku wasn't going to get with Chitoge? Why? That's so stupid. Who didn't see that coming?

Plenty of things do that, it's just those manga and light novels are based around the established relationship or the relationship is not a major part of the story.

Rakudai is standard harem stuff, which means it's an oddity that he quickly confessed but hardly any less stupid and hardly makes the characters involved in the relationship less shit.

I actually would have really liked that.

MC is a country boy who enrolls in a Magic Academy with his childhood friend after passing their standardized tests, and are the first two commoners to attend it for the sole purpose of learning Earth Magic to help out their village in farming.

One of the jobs the Academy has for its students to earn credits/money is Monster Extermination / Protection from them, along with renting out their Mages to Adventure Teams.

During on expedition its learned the MC has an autistic immense hate boner for Monsters with many written plans on how to genocide them at every turn using Earth Magic and traps as some of them ruined his crops when he was younger, and the life of his childhood friend.

Which earns him a reputation and many wanting to recruit him to their faction.

All I got. Make something out of it Sup Forums.

The MC is a powerful and famous wizard from other world, who dies in a magic experiment and reincarnates into our world, as a poor teenager from a third world country, and he struggle to survive the drug war of his city and how his magical power isn't even the 0,01% of what it used to be and he can only use weak elemental magic. He has his own brown girls harem, and the story is about how he end up becoming the biggest drug lord of his country.

>He can only use the power of fire to light pilot lights so he can make/cook drugs.
Fund it.

I really hate the premise. How could the other heroes be from a world where their MMOs don't follow the trinity game design? While I don't actually like the trinity design as I believe you need support characters, you can't escape the base of all MMOs and all fantasy games for that matter.

To think the tank would be the weakest one and not exist in the other world's is an affront to me.

Add some cliches like, he use his life force as mana in critical moments to use his original magic power for 60 sec. He is also a friend of a blonde ojou-sama daugther of a druglord

Honestly the first two lines sound really good. The others suck. Then again Eren ruined revenge protagonists for me forever.

Don't forget the bit where he goes up against a preppy rich girl who was formerly the best fighter in the school but beats her through sheer heart and willpower, assuring his role as the center of attention at the school while simultaneously making her start to fall in love with him

>Then again Eren ruined revenge protagonists for me forever.
I feel the same
>I'm going to kill ALL the titans!
>First skirmish has him lose a leg and become fucking shit until he gets titan transformation

So what you are saying is:
>MC is a country boy who enrolls in a Magic Academy with his childhood friend for the sole purpose of learning Earth Magic to help out their village for farming purposes.
>The Academy has it students earn credits/monster for Monster Extermination, Renting them out as Mages to Adventure Teams, and Protecting settlements.
>MC and childhood friend get put in different groups and do High Fantasy Adventures while studying Earth Magic to farm.

The dark ages of magical academy battle harem is over. We're back to stupid shit again.

At this stage I'll take anything over more isekai garbage.

Actually his first skirmish was against Colossal titan and he did great.

TIME MARCHES ON

BUT I'M STILL MAD

What are the new harems that have confirmed adaptations on the horizon?

>alternate 1930s
>each country with international school trains teens for military use
>kids train with the sole purpose to avoid all out world war
>pits them against each other
>shoehorn the harem romance shit sometimes
>each episode focusing how students prepare and showcases their fighting methods
>epilogue deals with each kids dealing with PTSD in the 1950s

Asterikfag Detected
