Fentanyl is cheaper per gram than other opiates so people gravitate towards it because after two years of opiate addiction they now do not need to spend $400 on percocets just to get high, they can spend $40 on fentanyl. Carfentanil is way stronger which means people can do a tiny bit and pay even less.
I was given some percocets for a work accident I had, and they were fucking awesome, so I totally get the addiction thing.
