>Shinkai film
>expect happy ending
no ones fault but your own.

this is some bait
but seriously it was pretty damn good
can't wait to watch it in a resolution larger than 360p

I guess Shinkai finds a way to your wallet.

It's the same shit but with different wrapping. What did you expect out of that retard Shinkai

The 50s radio drama is better

聖地巡礼

>watching Shinkai for anything except the cloud porn

???

Man, Japan is truly the land of aesthetic.

wtf, spoiler tag

It's implied that they did

...

Comfy

studies show that spoilers actually improve your enjoyment of a film

Are hills with forests on them called something specific? I love them.

we love shinkai

Studies show that I fucked your mother

shouldn't you be on r/anime? ideal safespace for you

...

Please explain the logic behind your post to me.

DAD?

Homage

Homage!

Actually fuck it I'll respond.
1. I'm not even the guy you first replied to.
2. Wanting adherence to a rule that's probably about 10 years old makes someone a redditor? Are you stupid?
3. You didn't actually link any study but I have no doubt that it's unscientific garbage.
4. Even if it is actual quantifiable science, it's most likely done on normalfags who don't want to feel uncomfortable or uncertain IE someone you should try your best not to be.

The ending is left to interpretation but it is clear their feelings haven't disappeared.

+1
gold post

>They didn't even get together in the end
Then what is the point of movie!
>You watch romance movie
>Nothing happens
I hate shitty writing!

Put some effort into your bait if you want a (You)

1. not that guy (316) nor (OP) but was guy (279) who cited study
2. I agree with the rule and was havin a laugh.
3. youtube.com/watch?v=HH86XMZ8vn8
4. I don't even know whether you are trying to put anime fans on a pedestal or are hastily constructing a straw man or what.

Draw your conclusions from 3 I would say that investment or hype matters in the equation but then again I had no preconceived notions about this phone movie whatsoever.

>hills with forests on them
You have them everywhere in Europe too.

>psychology

a large portion of magic is literally the practical applications of human psychology what are you smoking

He hates scam PSYCHICS not PSYCHOLOGY you moron.

No it fucking didn't. All the time i was expecting for Nagisa to die and when it actually happens i felt no impact. Fuck you and your retarded studies.

If you felt no impact then you should blame the story.

I've watched it, and as a self proclaimed Anime expert that has watched probably 20 or more anime series and is a supporter of intellectual geniuses such as Akiyuki Shinbo and SHAFT, I can conclude that Kimi no nai wa is a dud.

Unlike Monogatari movies, the film does not hold itself together. What happened after she confronted her father after the comet break up? Who did the senpai marry and why is it not the glasses guy? Why is the guy (girl) a faggot compared to the cool girl (guy) who is loved by everyone except by her father? I give it a 6.5 out of 10 for its backgrounds and music plus anime tiddies. but if you compare it to intellectually stimulating films such as Monogatari it is by far lacking. I'd rank it along side GuP film which you don't need brains to watch and enjoy because having a brain lessens your enjoyment.

How about fuck you. Clannad after story is notorious for making people cry.

Thank you for the spoiler

Maybe you would have never cried and are just a soulless half human.

This is beatiful.

It was a happy ending though, just the happy ending didn't include the two of them getting together

>not the official MV

>they didn't get together in the end
>it's bad

I bet you think KokoSake was bad too because the main girl and main boy didn't end up together

>Implied
>Shows the MC straight up refusing her because he loves someone else
>Literally shows the baseball dude confessing to the main girl and her getting embarrassed, while not necessarily confirming they got together it shows that they're probably going to get closer
>MC tries to confess to his middle school gf again and she tells him to stop since he'd be riding off the baseball dude's coattails but tells him to ask again some other time, basically straight up saying they're getting back together

I'm not sure where you got the idea that they were implied to get together.

Wrong show.

...

Sure you didn't watch the wrong movie. The new movie is Kimi no na wa, not 5 centimeters per second. At the end of the movie, I was certain that they were going to pull a 5cps ending. I was really happy about them making the ending like they did. It also ways a nice gimmick ending the movie with the movie's name, gave me a instant good feel.

...

Don't want to make a new thread since people will bully me for making a rec thread so I'll ask here

What are some other decent anime movies that aren't kids miyazaki stuff or mech shit.
Stuff like Summer Wars, girl who leapt through time or 5 centimeters?

...

Miyazakis's anime is targeted at all audiences. Mononoke is for example not targeted at kids.

Wolf Children, Laputa, the other of Shinkan's work. If you like edgy then maybe Ninja Scroll and Wicked City, Perfect Blue maybe? Paprika is also a good movie apparently, but I haven't watched it.

So what the fuck??? Do they get together or what? i don't understand what the fuck are you guys talking about?

>hasn't actually seen it yet

they do

/thread

Who knows what happens further? The important thing is that they found each other five (and eight) years later. It's still a pretty happy ending, and it's not very Shinkan-like. He was probably forced into making the ending like this by investors.

>ctrl + f
>"a boy falls in love"
>0 results

Are we finally free from the Keit-Ai curse?

>five (and eight) years later
What the fuck?

>by his investors
Who?

>five (and eight) years later
Surely the didn't fuck any stupid fuck in that five and eight years. FUCK, I'M MAD

>Surely the didn't fuck any stupid fuck in that five and eight years. FUCK, I'M MAD
Manchild spotted. They both did most probably.
When you grow up from being in a twelve year old state of mind you'll learn that this is totally okay. All of us have been in a relationship and had sex when we're in our early twenties. If you cannot be with anyone who hasn't had feelings for anyone but you, then you're going to be here forever.

No, kill yourself

There's a bigger chance for you killing yourself than I killing myself. I don't need to meet mai waifu in the afterlife.

It wasn't good. I wasn't too much into Garden of Words or Children Who Chase Lost Voices but they were both a lot better than this and at least were something fresh from shinkai.

Like if this movie was condensed it could easily have passed as just another story in Place Promised. I dunno, felt very meandering and slightly convoluted for the story it was trying to get across. In fact I was more interested in the side characters getting married than the protagonists' struggle.

Sad times, both Hosoda and Shinkai let me down with their latest works.

...

Die cucks

I totally disagree with your opinion. I think this was Shinkan's best work, and it overshadowed them in both visuals and in story writing.

Although I admit it was pretty unoriginal. He didn't do anything that hasn't been done many times before. He just did it better than everyone else.

I'm looking forward to seeing it in BD quality.

Thanks for spoilers you fucking fag

>you'll learn that this is totally okay.
Except it's not.

They DID get together. You just don't see it happen because it's none of your damn business.

Wrong. Shinkai himself stated that he WANTED to make a happy ending for a change.

>All of us have been in a relationship and had sex when we're in our early twenties.
Who is this "us" you speak of?
Get out of here normalfag.

Yea, it was an open ended ending

>for a change.
In the interview that is in the booklet he said that he didn't consider 5cm to be a "bad ending", it's just something that some viewers decided for themselves.

2/10
at least you made me laugh out loud

>he didn't consider 5cm to be a "bad ending"

Some people and I interpret the ending of 5cps as the MC moving on. Kind of like how MC in keit-ai speaks to senpai and the movie shows off her engagement ring. They used the same setting in 5cps. Only in this movie the MC didn't have a relationship with a girl he didn't love.
