It is nostalgia or naruto really turn into shit?

You had a kungfu superman with no pewpew powers against a sand caster?

Why was Guy vs. Madara so shit compared to this? This was actually entertaining.

No, you're right.

Its shit. Nostalgia is supposed to do that opposite anyway (make it seem better than it is)

depends on the team that worked on it. who were the line up those episodes?

Tried to find out with google but I couldnt. Probably need to read the credits of the episode.

It went to shit after the Chunin exam.
Konoha Crush had some pretty good moments but progression became slow as fuck.
After that it became muh sealed power and endless gimmicks and SAKSUKE

Was Rock Lee a "jobber"?

Early on enough to develop and show off characters, early enough that martial arts was a thing, early enough so that Naruto or eye powers aren't required to win a fight.

He can't qualify as a jobber since he never looked strong enough to make someone else look good. People misuse jobber alot. Vegeta's only "jobs" are versus the Androids in their first meeting, and then Gohan only versus Dabura.

Who won that fight?

>He can't qualify as a jobber since he never looked strong enough to make someone else look good

He looked strong enough to have a clean win. He was literally faster than the sand. But he uses a bullshit technique which hurts himself instead of landing one punch against the guy who hasn't felt injury all his life.

We, the audience, saw the technique already and we knew at that time he was a tailed beast holder. So there was actually no chance. If Gaara lost to Lee that would have been a jobber moment.

It was hype as fuck in the manga

Years after and I am still hyped as fuck when he takes off his trainning's weights and destroy Gaara.

It was also pretty hype in the game.

I'm stooped,what does jobber mean?

really the series was pretty shit both before and after this fight, although still redeemable till saaaaay, jiraya?

maybe it was good cause the fight felt substantial, uncertain, and revealed interesting elements of their characters through its progression?

We knew it was an uphill battle and that he was in way over his head, over even the Jounins' heads. He had no chance against the monster which he didn't know existed but he had a shot at knocking out the human and winning the match. It wasn't a matter of him winning, it was a matter of bad choices when he, in his eyes, saw that he had the upper hand.

Between intentionally missing his punches, probing the sands' reaction time for far too long and using a suicide attack when it wasn't necessary, he was gunning to lose. Like a jobber.

>How did they get so lucky with this fight? Its leagues better than anything else in this show.
It was the one time when hard work almost beat ingrained superpowers.

It is downhill from there. It is amusing how quickly it became meaningless how hard you train, what matters is how you get powerups. Oro is right, the way up in the world is by cheating. And that's why Oro wins everything he wanted at the end.

Everyone knew Madara was going to job eventually, the chapter were Madara captures the tailed beast was the signaling of it happening.

Big bad guy returns to life
Shows his power WHILE blind
Once he gets one single rinnegan eye ball he manages
captures the 9 tailed beast in seconds something that took like 17 years for Obito and the Akatsuki.
Extracts the 8 and 9 tails in the field, something that would take the 10 Akatsuki members days to do.

All this without even being the Sage of the six paths.

Madara was too strong for his own good, he had to be nerfed HARD otherwise he would steamrolled everything once he was Sage of the six paths since he could do so as a normal human being.

one of it is because it's somewhat grounded. when Naruto's power levels got way too high it just turned into throwing the most powerful attack possible at each other. creativity and imagination went out the window.

>leagues better than anything else in this show.

The bar isn't very high

>Vegeta's only "jobs" are versus the Androids in their first meeting
Ooooh you REALLY want to stay away from the movies.

Though by that time Vegeta was already well estabilished as "kinda good but never good enough" so I don't know if those can qualify as jobs either.

Notice the animation quality spirals into oblivion and never recovers after this story arc. Not even Shippuden has ever looked that good, 10 years later.

its wrestling lingo for someone who loses to make the current antagonist or protagonist seem better or more threatening. they "do their job" and lose

CC2 made the anime obsolete with their games

Fillers ruined the animated series, Kishimoto's lazy writing ruined everything in Shippuden.

Madara should've been the final boss. It even feels like he was more powerful than Kaguya.

Naruto had much better animation pre-timeskip. After that they mostly stop caring about animation quality and did 1 good episode every 50 shitty ones. Even the Kaguya fight, we had 1-2 good quality episodes and then it turned into complete shit. Atleast naruto vs sasuke should be movie tier quality.

It's because Taijutsu > eye hax in fighting choreography.

If Toei's motto is to spare all the expenses on animation at all costs, then Pierrot's motto is sparing some expenses sometimes.

Naruto occasionally has some really well animated fight sequences.

The first arcs of Naruto were actually pretty good, but the usual problems with shounen occurred. Attempting to continually increase power levels ends up making characters look weak in comparison to how they were in earlier arcs, decreasing quality and other shit.

>Naruto occasionally has some really well animated fight sequences.
This wasn't there an entire filler arc that had movie tier animation for some reason?

ye it was supposed to be a movie initially but got scrapped.

Kaguya fight sucked ass , it didn't even feel like a fight.
Is this the studio's fault? Kishi's?

Shikamaru vs the two Akatsuki guys

That was a great fight

Kaguya was so fucking underwhelming. They should have just left Madara to be the last final enemy and make this long as fight between him and Naruto/Sasuke

Both.

Naruto overall got worse in part 2 but part 2 had pretty fucking great moments in it too so it's not worth crying about either way.

naruto vs gaara was better imo.

went down hill after the time skip.
fillers killed the anime for most of us.
didn't get bad enough to drop it like bleach.

Madara was starting to show signs of plot induced jobbing.

For some reason by the time he sucked up the ten tails he forgot all about his hundred thousand techniques and just started spamming the invisible clones and the black balls (which Naruto and Sasuke got handed counters by their spiritual daddy)

Though no matter what he would have made for a much more entertaining final fight than Kaguya did.

sasuke made everything post timeskip

not necessarily. He kicked sasukes ass and fought evenly against kimimaru. Too bad Kishimoto kicked hard work out of the window in shippuden. That made all characters shit except naruto and sasuke

>fought evenly against kimimaru
He got his ass kicked and had to be saved by Gaara.

he was fine. It's not like he was fighting seriously
