Communism.

But, millennials love communism

Some commie retards tried to run the reactor with out a neutron regulator to see if it would still run.

millennials are killing chernobyl

just fucking look it up
chernobyl was basically a test to see how far you could push a reactor until it failed
guess what, they fucking found out

It's technically possible to build a nuclear reactor that can't be switched off under certain conditions. No one in their right mind would construct such a thing.
Guess what the Soviets constructed?

Literally, this is the epitome of what comes from Communism.

It's not as though you can throw a switch and stop fission.

Yea, but you don't have to throw caution to the wind like THAT.

Soviet. Corporate. Irresponsibility

Clearly what happened, is that they didn't have enough ramen!

youtu.be/s_eC-s-b-zw

not immediately but i mean there are SCRAM switches in nuclear reactors to do just that

they tend to be big and red so if you are a fucking panicking irradiated man you can still find them

Can someone explain what happened and how the design was flawed in really simple terms? I'm not that intelligent.

Bunch of fucking commies pushing buttons, not giving a fuck because no one knows better than them. Oh fuck shit broke.. let's bury reactor core in this hole, let's shovel the graphite over here, fuck let's pour this nuclear waste water into this well. Don't fucking tell anyone. Just tell the firefighter's wives.to get them milk, that will cure their melting skin. Fucking milk. Fucking retard commies.

subhuman slavs + jewish communism = Chernobyl

Russian niggers make boom boom

The thing was that there was something preventing the control rods from going in the way they were supposed to during the scram. Hitting the big red button and seeing nothing happen would make me look for a new pair of pants.

"positive void effect" - Google it in quotes, perhaps add Chernobyl. Basically it was a known issue that if void pockets (think no or low coolant) formed in the reactor, power levels tended to increase resulting in the loss of more coolant and larger power increases.

Imagine in the apocalyptic future neo-slavs needing scrap metal go to raid this place and die.

They need to do way instain cooling water

This Happened.

The Chernobyl NPP is a place of myth and is believed to be the very heart of the Zone. Following the second incident in 2006 and the emergence of the Zone, the power plant became inaccessible. Almost impassable obstacles such as the Brain Scorcher or the Monolith faction combined with the vivid imaginations of prospecting stalkers caused wild rumors to begin spreading about what one might find in the Chernobyl NPP. The most well known tale is that of the Wish Granter, a monolithic crystal of unknown origin that makes one's wishes come true, rumoured to be hidden inside the destroyed reactor #4. Other rumors surrounding the NPP involve extra-terrestrials, treasure troves of artifacts, the Oasis and other folklore.

reminder that in the woods around Chernobyl the leaves are not rotting because all the bacteria and microrganisms can't live there.

Chernobyl is what happen when anu cheeki breeki meets iv danke.

Ukrainian, actually.

In all seriousness. What happened at Chernobyl is a disgusting example of Communism and how it devalues human life. The workers who tried to prevent the disaster from getting even worse were thrown away as if they were disposable. Even given the term "biorobots"
The Soviets had the balls to deny anything had even happened instead of asking for international help, which probably cost more lives.

liveleak.com/view?i=6e4_1388885457
This is a good documentary on the survivors who were forgotten by the Soviet (then Russian) government and left to slowly die to the radiation they'd been exposed to. Everyone should watch it.

This.
They hauled in their best miners to dig a shaft and didn't even tell them their work would kill them, only that it was important that they do it quickly.
Even when they were done digging the shaft and were sent to the hospital, they still didn't know how fucked they were until the symptoms began.

Perhaps even more disgusting was allowing those reactors to be put in service at all. When everything is on 5 year, 10 year or more year plans and your struggling to feed your people because of the leaders' idiotic rejection of science and reality...and heaven forbid, you not get things done using whatever is supplied and on time, or if anything goes wrong afterward - off to Siberia.

It's like I've said before, combine that mentality with the modern - you're qualified because of your skin color - heck, we've seen that in the States - Flint, Michigan anyone?

Is anyone really that surprised at how evil Russians are? look at the way Putin poisoned Litvinenko with polonium-210 for nothing more than criticizing his criminal dealings.

Russians have no soul.

Muh dik

>they tend to be big and red

In glorious CCCP, all buttons are red, and all are same size. Only in countries burdened by capitalist oppression must some be smaller so that others can be bigger. Only in Fascist countries is there discrimination by color.

>Let's run a test: can we have the reactor running while switching to the backup water cooling system, using this experimental power system as a stopgap?
>Welp we couldn't get it done, night shift's job
>Prepare for test
>Reactor gets really hard to control
>Water(stops reaction) starts randomly turning into steam (helps reaction) in the center of the reactor
>Over balance towards water while preparing the test

Boss:
>Wow, you idiot, you fucking shut off the reactor preparing for the test
>Turn it back on, do the test anyway, or I and you get fired
>let's see if it can handle this accidental heat increase during testing
>Oh hey its about to melt, stick in all the cooling rods by SCRAMing it (?) (we don't know for sure everyone died)

>inserting the tips of the cooling rods make the reactor react/heat more, needs full rods to cool
>All the water flashed into steam and caused a steam explosion
>Half the reactor thrown through the roof while melting

Basically bad design and a bad experiment, coupled with a frustrated boss that desperately needed the test done or he loses political standing.

Just realized the liveleak link doesn't have the second part. It's here:

okay (insert abbo name here)

Yeah but you can switch off the atoms m8.
>be amerilard
>doesn't know how to switch off atoms

A bit after they SCRAM button was hit, there was a power spike in the core from their other shenanigans which fractured the control rods and they would only go 1/3 of the way in.

fucking communists. thx america for freedums.

Underrated

a reactor blew up and irradiated a city and the surrounding area
the efforts of incredibly brave or misinformed soviet engineers saved most of europe from turning into an unlivable shithole

only 50 people died

soviet junk that didnt have a shit load of safetys

it went boom threw radioactive dust and material all over half of europe and now the area around pripyat is a no go zone

there is mushrooms in the woods of austria that you cant eat due to being so high in radiation due to the cloud travelling so far

You forgot a couple zeros there, leaf.

most of them soldiers and engineers who helped plug the breach

There's also supposedly a new mushroom that evolved to use the radiation in the container as it's energy source.

not correct.
the official records stated that

>the experiment was supposed to test the amount of electricity taht the reacor could produce at the maximum using the least amout of resources possible
>reactor starts to get out of control, cooling system gets fucked
>by the time they decide to abort the experiment (becouse of chain of command etc) the rails for the graphene bars are fucked
>they drop them but they cant reach the reactor
>the fuel keeps getting out of control, without the graphene rods its impossible to stop it
>reactor blows out
at least that was how we studied it in the Uni.
and it was the Ruskies fault.
the power plant director did not wanted to do the experiment becouse he considered unsafe. moscow pressed on the matter and gave executive orders to do the experiment no matter what,

>What happen at Chernobyl?
Biorobots, communism and Russian way of neglecting safety standards.

>Myth
Get out of here Stalker

From Wikipedia:
"The developers of the reactor plant considered this combination of events to be impossible and therefore did not allow for the creation of emergency protection systems capable of preventing the combination of events that led to the crisis, namely the intentional disabling of emergency protection equipment plus the violation of operating procedures. Thus the primary cause of the accident was the extremely improbable combination of rule infringement plus the operational routine allowed by the power station staff."
tl;dr hohols are worse than niggers

trump

>100 km from Kiev
>mad khokhols started Maidan at the nuclear plant
>everyone writes about Russians

>only 50 people died
Casualties were only that low because deaths of liquidators count only if they died to acute radiation poisoning on the site.

>everyone writes about Russians
Soviet Union was Russia with another label. Saying it wasn't Russia doesn't change the fact that Soviet Union was Russia, ran by kikes as usual, but still Russia.

...

Finland "was Russia" as well

Last time I checked there's a monument to our Tsar on Finland's main square

>Finland "was Russia" as well
Haven't been since 1917.
>Last time I checked there's a monument to our Tsar on Finland's main square
Should be melted and recycled.

don't forget that they crashed a helicopter into it at the end for good measure

Had Ukraine been given a choice, they would have fuck all to do with Russia... Literally none of the soviet states wanted to be in the "mighty" Soviet Union created by fucking jew Russians.

Uk has more no go zones than Russia just for the remider.

Well, you have to admit that building a reactor next to the ocean, just barely above sea level is pretty fucking dumb. Had the idiots just pumped sea water into the damn thing instead of worrying about ruining the reactor, the whole thing could have been prevented too. Can't help slanty-eyed worry about shaming famiree.

Cool story. Ukraine had a referendum in 1991 asking whether they prefer to leave, they voted no. Then there was a coup in Moscow and they were explicitly said to fuck off and re-vote. That's how they gained independence, because big guys in Moscow didn't want to deal with other republics.

The energy needs of the 5 year plan were achieved in mere seconds.

A NU CHEEKI BREEKI IV DAMKI

> Saying it wasn't Russia doesn't change the fact that Soviet Union was Russia

The Soviet Union was controlled from Moscow, but it did not just consist of Russians. It consisted of Russians, Ukranians, Belarussians, Balts, Kazaks, Uzbeks, Cossacks etc....

> ran by kikes
omg trotzki was expelled in the 1930s

Elaborate

"A referendum on the Act of Declaration of Independence was held in Ukraine on 1 December 1991.[1] An overwhelming majority of 92.3% of voters approved the declaration of independence made by the Verkhovna Rada on 24 August 1991." Wiki

Am I missing something?

You talking about muzzies, poo?

This is the one after the coup in August. There was no USSR in December of 1991.

when you give an african man a hammer he uses it as a weapon with which to steal

when you give an asian man a hammer he makes more hammers

when you give a european man a hammer he builds a house

when you give a russian man a hammer he smashes his thumb

Yeah this shows that neither capitalism nor communism is to blame here, but rather that nuclear energy is risky and the plants administration shouldn't be shit in any economic system

>newfags

Show me your source.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_Union_referendum,_1991

>In the Ukraine, voters were also asked "Do you agree that Ukraine should be part of a Union of Soviet sovereign states on the basis on the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine?"[21] The proposal was approved by 81.7% of voters.[21]

Putting aside the early days, I think we've done fairly well. To be honest, I'd like to see the older plants here replaced with newer generation plants. If you don't understand how a communist system contributed directly to Chernobyl, you need to do your research - The video I linked to above scratches the surface. As for the Japs/Fukishima, Asians in general need to value life more.

...

it's a bad case of radioactive,
boom boom melt melt.

Basically they built a big duga in the forest and it didn't work. So the local communist leaders blew up the reactor to hide that their duga didn't work.

>when you give a russian man a hammer he smashes his thumb
*builds space station*

>It's technically possible to build a nuclear reactor that can't be switched off under certain conditions. No one in their right mind would construct such a thing.

Hold my sickle

The U.S player gets to nominate a region that the USSR player cannot place influence or perform Ops in.

>"An agreement between the Soviet central government and the nine republics, the so-called "9+1" agreement, was finally signed in Novo-Ogaryovo on April 23. The New Union Treaty would have converted the Soviet Union into a federation of independent republics with a common president, foreign policy, and military.

By August, eight of the nine republics, except Ukraine, approved the draft of the new Treaty with some conditions. Ukraine did not agree on the terms of the Treaty. In the republican referendum on March 17, the majority of residents of Ukraine supported joining the Union on the terms of Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine."
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_of_Sovereign_States
So what happened here then?

Nothing everything was fine as usual under communism

>the majority of residents of Ukraine supported joining the Union
This answers your question. Ukraine's independence was decided in Moscow, not in Kiev. Russia declared its independence in June, Ukraine did so in December.

Yeltsin's main theme was an economic decentralization "to stop feeding lazy republics" and more money to stay in Russia. De-facto greedy socialist elites wanted to loose the strict wage cap and have more money in their pockets. Gorbachev did see through this BS and warned what's going to happen.

It only killed commies right? Who cares.
