Guys, what's the problem with this artist?, i have seen post of some niggas throwing shit to him, and i want to understand why.

heard people give him shit for using the same face in everything he does

he didn't get dubs

i think people gave him shit for used reference pictures.
It's a trend lately, that if you use references you are deserving of stoning

He overpaints photos and other people's art and when he got called out denied it.
Then some assburger destroyed his asshole by making a compilation of all the shit he painted over.

And now everyone knows he's a fucking lying piece of shit slav - so a basic slav.

Kinda funny when you start lurking the work of those that throw shit at OP's artist. All of them are really bad at this whole "art" thing and make it seem like they're just insecure (a perfect example of crabs in a bucket desu).

They only throw shit at him because he lies like a bitch.

Talk shit get hit. LATA BISH

go ask /ic/

While it's true that tracing is pretty cuntish in art, that does seem a bit silly. I'd give him shit for being a liar, though.

Take it to /ic/. He's only good for pinups and plagiarism.

Sameface, tracing, overpaid

he wasn't even tracing, his pictures had different outlines and anatomy etc.

he was literally taking animu pic and rendering it in higher detail

Tracer
Still he has a lot of skill and I like his work
But he traces and that triggers drawfags

>he wasn't even tracing,
He was though.
Stop being a retard, if you haven't followed a story from the start just shut the fuck up and go fucking kill yourself.

In fact why are you even asking us about it.
I only know about this talenteless retard because /ic/ made a large deal out of this lying cuntlords patreon.

...

150k/year
People wouldn't give a fuck about tracing otherwise

3 in a row. Truly this is a blessed thread. Will this end in 3?

Clutch. Streak ends here though

because I wasn't the one asking and I've known whats going on from the start?

/ic/ knows shit all about what actually counts as plagiarism, his stuff wouldn't get a single raised eyebrow in any artschool or gallery if you stuck it next to the thing he was "tracing" from

literally clueless internet trolls making fuss because they're jealous of pateron jew bucks

> his stuff wouldn't get a single raised eyebrow in any artschool

In the American shitlord artschools which fail to produce a single competent artist, yeah sure.

It's kinda sad when you look at a video game or a movie and the art credits look like an index of the most common European and Asian names.

I don't understand, that just looks like he was using it as a reference

It's plagiarism when it doesn't come out of your own fucking efforts, did he go out of his way to take the picture of the model? No, he relies on the efforts of others in order to do a makeover, that's what his artwork is, computer makeover, it's like calling photo shopping an art form.

Don't be bitter about the criticisms, tracing is how artists learn to be good, but then they expand their horizons to find original designs.

Does the overall design look original to you, just because it's been filtered / artstyle changed?

How about you get off the internet and develop some artistic taste. This type of style would easily be embraced if every artwork was said to pay respect to the homage it was from, but he lies about it.

Can't defend that shit, if you do it's just covering up your own inadequacies.

IIRC plagiarism, hypocrisy and straight up lying to his fans about it

when the drama blew up a lot of popular artists (including some pros) shat over him for doing so. I don't think he cares though because he still got dat money from his adoring fans

>(((Sakimichan)))

Ah yeah, I forgot about the image of him shitting on someone else for doing the same shit he does.

What. Ay. Gigantic. Piece. Of. Shit.

This is the problem.

People might not like him because he has little variety.

People throw shit because he's popular.

I don't get it. Wasn't that intentionally obvious? The whole point seems to be an anime stylization of that famous Blade Runner photo.

So how is this anime?

What is this? Art comparison for ants?

He draws anime fanart
gotem

I take back what I said about the crabs. This guy is a real piece of shit.

>it's like calling photo shopping an art form.

Why are all of these so small that you can#t actually tell what the fuck is written?
Can barely see the actual pictures.
Are you some kind of subhuman?

>This is the problem.
nigga the biggest problem here right now is you

Well he does have a webcomic on Global Manga Collection (which looks very uninspired), but I don't think anyone cares about it

Still looks nice, he makes his own stuff too.

If anyone can do it then it ought to be worth very little. It just looks like he's exploiting people's naivety.

Ooo baby

Kron? That you?

That drama will probably follow Ilya Kuvshinov/Kronz for the rest of his artist career but seeing how people still give him money anyway he probably doesn't care

>Why does an artist who use reference photos have artwork that looks similar to the original

>It just looks like he's exploiting people's naivety
Yeah, no one would give a shit if he mentioned that the picture is traced

I wish i could draw.

Just trace and make a donation box bro.

We should just aggressively flood the internet with traced images almost identical to his Kronz's.

A fool and his money are easily parted. I don't blame a single one of these people for milking their audience for all it's worth.

That's pop art which is known by the process of using photos to present a strong contrast of few colors.

The guy in question is trying to justify his use of copying source material and making a few minor changes to call it his own, disregarding the source it was taken from.

For example, if those pictures he changed never existed, he would have no art. While pop art can exist from original works, not just taken from a photo due to its style.

>If anyone can do it then it ought to be worth very little.
It's worth as much as people are willing to pay for it. If you think it's that simple, feel free to try it yourself.

Shitty filters that hurt my eyes. It's not like those filters really add anything either. I'm sure it's just shit pretentious artists circlejerk over.

I'm serious. Tell me what this adds.

There's a difference from referencing and out-right tracing. I recall looking at the 'evidence' when the the drama was happening and seemed more like he was referencing, like recreating an iconic piece from a manga or something.
Though, I suppose one of the problems is that a very large chunk of the work he posts are based on art from a series, screen shots, or studies. Just take a glance at his twitter. He isn't very original. His works are pretty and inoffensive but don't have much substance. Just cute grills.

Because he's making money out of plagiarism.

>chromatiq
He's really embracing that chromatic abortion style.

Woah dude you should make more of that. I would totally throw some bucks into your patreon if you had one.

At least he didn't trace cp.

Don't give people ideas.

Gerupin did.

And that doijin was quite amazing.

I'll have you know that I with extra emphasis on I, created this using the most advanced googling techniques.

who's the heroine?

This filter reminds me of alternative girls and indie music for some reason.

A little brown girl

Seriously? Did he get the van? Reminds me of a an incident where I think another artist supposedly traced a photo of one girl on top of another.

is it on sadpanda?

Possession wasn't even illegal in Japan until relatively recently.

No, he still draws porn but it's clear he doesn't trace anymore.
I don't think it's common knowledge, I happen to know because I really loved that doujin and once upon a time by sheer coincidence I stumbled upon some cp pictures (probably on /b) that were identically posed.
Recognized it right away.

Yes.

>stumbled upon
sure you did.

Is it illegal again now? It's funny, considering Japan was a known case study on how legal possession of CP noticeably reduced actual sex crimes.

>by sheer coincidence I stumbled upon some cp

It wasn't even rare on this site some years ago.

>stumbled upon

Excessive use of chromatic aberration.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

steals shit all the time

You're such a good artist my friend. Have you ever thought on going to an art school?

The guy's actually a genius. Original or not, he does have decent technical skill in drawing. And by producing fanart of trending anime and video games and recreating iconic pieces, he's able to gain popularity at a relatively small amount of time.

With a large following, he can now create shit he actually wants like Chromatiq and never worry about fading out of the scene, Not to mention that passive income.

Bravo kuvshinov

>just put one of his pics as my background
>plagiarism disgusts me
off to /w/

Anaxus is another artist that does more or less the same thing, and he's technically much less skilled. He outright traces photos and uses screenshots to replace the faces or heads of the characters he's using for it.

He's making a decent bit with commissions like that.

Doesn't make it any more true.

Or false.

>going to an art school
Screw that. I've considered making my own school user. Look at my newest masterpiece.

I don't see a big problem there. He was probably asked to render the Blade Runner photo using his style. Which as far as I'm aware is what he's selling all along and there's no foul play.

Sure he could probably exercised some personal creativity there, but if you made the choice to walk into a McDonald's you should expect burgers

Same shitty artstyle, same face everytime, same shitty filter, also traces from 3dpd.

guys I think I could make some sweet patreon bucks like this.

>The guy's actually a genius.

No, he just has stupid followers. Also hard to tell how skilled he is when he can only paint cute animu girls with short haircuts from the chest up.

>It's worth as much as people are willing to pay for it
>people get mad that people want to make sure the people that are paying know what they're paying for

>he doesn't realize how common cheese pizza used to be
Newfags, I swear. Even nowadays you'll catch some if you're in a big event thread on Sup Forums

Here take this wallpaper instead, it's all yours.

or a shitposting night on Sup Forums

HOLY SHIT user DID YOU JUST DRAW THAT YOURE SO TALENTED FUCK

There are people who literally scam others with pencil filter drawings.

>>people get mad that people want to make sure the people that are paying know what they're paying for
I don't think anyone's getting mad at whatsisface getting exposed for plagiarism.

It's the whole "they don't DESERVE to be making this much money" jelly as fuck whining that always gets me a good laugh.

Woah super "oldfags" can't understand jokes.

Truly a masterwork user

>it was but a ruse

As someone who actually draws on the internet for money. I'll detail the issue I have and I think a lot of people also have.

Forget the references, the biggest issue is the repetition. My biggest issue is that there's no challenge as an artist. My favourite art they do is shit like the subway sketches and anything that's not:
>Sorta anime/realistic portrait of whatever the fucks popular at the moment or anime.

I don't blame them though, they're making 150,000 USD a year for about an hour of work a day on average. (The headshots take roughly 45 minutes, I'm sure the sketches on twitter take 20 minutes to half an hour and more ambitious projects take more time)

As for actual skill as an artist? People will say there's no talent involved and they're flat out wrong. Kronpr1nz is fucking good and don't let the bland repetitive art tell you otherwise, there are lots of posts that show off skill. If people think kronpr1nz is bad at art they're either: jelly of the money or don't know a thing about drawing traditionally or digitally.

...

This is a picture for ants but I remember that matoi pic. He traced a picture of a figure and like an idiot included a hair seam

Of course, fan art is a pretty powerful force in gaining exposure on the internet. I began following him a few years ago because of his fan art. But how long will that last him?

I wonder how his comic Chromatiq is doing. Doesn't seem to have a stable schedule of updates and I don;t think anyone in particular was excited about it.

I do agree he seems to have a lot of technical skill though.

I guess one could say it's his lack of artistic ambition that's disheartening, but like you I don't blame him for milking dosh for minimal effort.

He went to some art school in Russia, so he's got some classical training.
post your work

Thousands of filters

>Post anything that links my business to somewhere on Sup Forums.

Hah.

What the fuck, was he really 12 when he made that?

JUST
