Quite the opposite, it relieves me when anime is called cartoons and bothers me when people aay the word anime out loud.

No, because I at least try to hide my power-level.

No because that's what they are. Only autists get mad when you call them that.

No.

Anime = cartoons from china, you smelly dumb weeab scum.

>>>reddit

I call them cartoons in an attempt to hide my power level, like Stay mad.

Calling them 'chinatoons' is objectively the best way to refer to them.

WHAT'S ALL THIS RACKET GOING ON IN HERE?

Y'ALL TALKING BOUT YER GIRL CARTOONS?

...

>being this insecure of your hobby

Get the fuck off Sup Forums, normie

I never hear the word "cartoons" since I live in Japan.

>he thinks hiding your power level is bad
>using normie as an insult

You're not from Sup Forums. Fuck off back to you cocksucker

...

This. Gook cartoons is the only acceptable way to adress anime in spoken word.

They are cartoons though.

I live in Japan and they call all animated media "anime" even if its American. I don't think there is even a direct word for cartoons in Japanese. Anime is just a shortened word for animation which isn't quite the same thing.

No, but it does when they're called "animes".

>I live in Japan and they call all animated media "anime" even if its American.
Really?

no because i call them chinese cartoons

I do this

because that's what they are

Yes, they call all animations "anime" while manga sometimes get called as comics.

This. The nomenclature makes no sense, anyway.
>I don't think there is even a direct word for cartoons in Japanese.
Literally "manga".

Yes, why wouldn't they?

i call anime characters "toons"

They should call American animation "Cartoons".

For those who don't know:
"Anime" is for any animation; "TV anime" being the common term.
"Comic (s)" refers to exactly that.
"Manga" refers to both, though only older people use it in place of "anime" nowadays.

If you're looking for English analogues, that would be "(TV) animation" (as in "an animation"), "comics", and "cartoons", respectively.

>Literally "manga".
Never seen anyone call a cartoon or a drawing "manga".

Shonen Jump Romanizes "anime" as "animation", and a whole bunch of tankouban are printed under "____ Comics" impronts, to the point I don't know any that aren't.

You clearly don't talk to Japanese people, then. When I said "literally", I didn't mean it for emphasis; it's a literal translation, i.e. same definition.

>You clearly don't talk to Japanese people, then.
I do, and they don't refer to like to them as manga. I've only ever seen manga referred to as manga. Literally translation or not, it's not used that way by anyone.

He said literally. The kanji for manga means whimsical images

No, anime is a pretty gay word to say out loud.

Only if you pronounce it like a filthy gaijin and say animay

No, because when you lurk here long enough you value the people who don't abide by normal fag logic.

People have many trigger-words if you use the most basic term for them, I fucking hate car culture and enjoy trivializing every thing about them with toy analogies. I'm sure it works the same for them trying to get a rise out of discrediting your hobbies.

>tfw thanks to japs culture infection back then about '90-'05, there are "anime" and "manga" in my language, but there are also "comic" and "cartoon" but in absorption words
Anime and manga become definitions for Japanese cartoon and comic respectively. While cartoon and comic become definition for non-Japanese cartoon and comic.

Guess which country.
