It taught us that being a little cunt gets you nowhere. And that Miyazaki is a lolicon.

Best for being a perfect balance.

1. Kaguya-hime
2. Spirited Away
3. Kiki's Delivery Service
4. Only Yesterday
5. Laputa

1. Castle in the Sky
2. Kiki's Delivery Service
3. Kaguya-hime
4. My Neighbor Totoro
5. Grave of the Fireflies

that's not Porco Rosso or Laputa, so no

My childhood crush , I'm speaking of the dragon of course!!

SU rips off a lot of shit from anime, man.

rip off is a strong word user, i prefer the term- homage~

This is the best Ghibli movie
youtube.com/watch?v=UdOUDeOglH0

I think Kaguya is better personally

Only Yesterday and Kaguya desu

Umi ga kikoeru

Probably. Wind Rises is my favorite though.

Porco Rosso is a favorite.

Didn't know there's so much love for Only Yesterday. It was a little boring the first half but the second half was really good.

It's definitely the most realistic and natural drama anime there is.

The best Ghibli movies are the ones that don't have the Ghibli sameface.

Spirited Away is still a terrible name for it.

I was very confused when in like less than 30 seconds we get what feels like a shoehorned explanation that Haru is a dragon and a dragon of a river or some shit. It felt like it came out of nowhere for us Westerners but it doesn't to the Japs because they actually titled the movie to something that makes sense.

doujinshi when??

Kiki's Delivery Service is the comfiest

youtube.com/watch?v=t1zbYXVr80g

I prefer the term "it's a horrible show"

No.

I liked Kiki better.

I didn't care for Totoro, even Ponyo was better.

Naw

No way this is better than Akira. No way.

lol wrong thread bro.

How are the 2 newer movies? I've yet to see them.

porco rosso and the wind rises are the best because they're passion projects of miyazaki and fully capture the things he cares about, porco is better

1. Pompoko
2. Tonari no Totoro
3. Omohide Poroporo
4. Kaguya-hime
5. Laputa

Tied for my third favorite. Everyone has different tastes though. I used to love Mononoke and NausicaƤ the most but not anymore.

Totoro
Castle in the sky
Spirited Away/Howls

I like NausicaƤ the most, but that's including the manga for me so maybe that's not fair.

I made the mistake of reading the manga first, so the movie was only a disappointment.

1. Castle in the sky
2. Grave of the Fireflies
3. Kaguyahime

Laputa's OST is literally perfect. Joe Hisashi is a god.

1. Whisper of the Heart
2. The Tale of the Princess Kaguya
3. Spirited Away
4. Only Yesterday
5. Kiki's Delivery Service

Which movie has the best OST?

1. The Wind Rises
2. Princess Mononoke
3. Grave of the Fireflies

Kiki's Delivery Service is my absolute favorite, followed closely by Princess Mononoke. The rest are in a homogenized ball of equalness

How is Only Yesterday? Never watched it but I want to, but at the same time I don't because it looks like a movie that will end with me completely crying my eyes out at the end

The best Ghibli movie is the one that you will watch once and only once...

Wonder if the rumor he's doing the new Zelda are true. It sure does sound like it could be him.

Wind Rises

This

saw it once

never again

;_;

I remember the first time I watched it
>hey bro it's Christmas Eve what do you wanna watch?
>Grave of fireflies? Looks interesting
Biggest mistake I've ever made.

You're a pussy. I saw it three times.
>But I did spoil myself by watching English first. It was so bad, I couldn't ever be asked to take to seriously.

nice trips

first time I watched it I hid in the laundry basket full of clothes for hours.

Watch it when I was in 3rd grade, I am now in college and I haven't watch it again since.
Still remember a lot of the major plot....

Kaguya and the wind rises? I thougth they were great. The animation is impressive, the music is god tier:

(plus that fuck you with the celestial parade theme) and I thought the stories were beautiful. They are quite similar in themes and both work as swan song for their directors, so watching them together is nice.

The wind rises is somewhat of a hit or miss for a lot of people though, and Anno sucks at voice acting.

Oh and Marnie is the last Ghibli movie. It's not as good, but the ending still made me tear up. It probably has the best background art of all Ghibli movies too.

1. Only Yesterday
2. My neighbours the Yamadas
3. Porco Rosso
4. Laputa
5. Whisper of the heart

Nothing will ever really top some of the pre-Ghibli work by takahata and Miyazaki though. I love Cello hiki no Gauche and Castle of cagliostro

>My neighbours the Yamadas
This is by far the most underrated Ghibli film. That opening sequence by itself is amazing.

Wind Rises would be pretty high up there if Miyazaki hadn't gone full retard and casted Anno as the VA for the main character.
2 hours of Anno's deadpan acting would kill any movie.

Definitely not true considering he's currently working on Ni no Kuni 2.

>whisper of the heart
>naausicaa
>mononoke
It never was.

Grave was bad.
