/SIG/ - Self Improvement General

It’s time to clean your house. What have you done today to improve your mental/physical/spiritual wellbeing user?

>What is /SIG/ and what is it doing on Sup Forums?

Since Sup Forums is an anti degeneracy board it is only logical that we try and promote the healthiest lifestyle possible. We are against drug abuse, alcoholism, pornography, gluttony and laziness. Taking care of oneself is incredibly important in order to make any sort of positive change in the world. Before we can know right from wrong, we must enrich ourselves spiritually. Before we can argue we must improve our mental knowledge of philosophy. Before we can take back our communities, we must be in top physical condition.

>Why should I self improve?

It’s almost impossible to not indulge in the decadence of of the west these days. It has created a mass of MSM slaves focused on vanity and material things, which the powers that be exploit in order to make a submissive population. To truly be independent and righteous individuals we must re-capture our manhood.

>What is the general philosophy of /SIG/?

To truly live is to struggle. You must internalize this truth in your being and actions and spread it to others whom you care for. Society as it is now will not last, it’s volatile. The Natural Order shall prevail, as nature is inherently Fascist. You as an individual can always choose to go against the flow and struggle and persevere while the rest of society rots and withers away. It's not an easy path, but you go on because you know that you are in the right and that in the end you will be vindicated. Live to live your life correctly and that will bring happiness to yourself and those around you.

>Basic advice

-Stop drinking sodas and eating junkfood
-Prepare your own meals
-Go outside more
-Stop watching porn
-Start gardening
-Get /fit/ (natty)
-Read books
-Get 8 hours of sleep
-Move out of the cities
-Learn a trade

Don't these always get moved to /bant/?

>Wait, h’wat? Gardening?

Yes. Farm like your great grandfather did. Purchase from local small producers that you know personally. We should grow our own food, get outside more, and not rely on commercial food producers. Over specialization creates a society without purpose for many and too much interdependence. The countryside would remain unaffected in the long run if a future collapse occurs. In cities people are concentrated like ants and living like parasites. You do not want to be a part of it. There’s a reason liberals are concentrated in these shitholes. Start small, but remain ambitious to eventually buy a plot of land. Homesteading is a prime pillar of the Sup Forums-/SIG/ philosophy.

files.diydharma.org/other/John_Seymour-The_Complete_Book_of_Self_Sufficiency.pdf

While you don't have to go 110% /innawoods/ right now, it's always good to be in a state of relative independence, and in a small closely knit community. It is such values and societal composition that will survive a collapse and reclaim what is left once the dust has settled.

mods are probably degenerate neckbeards

Furthermore, get a punching bag and some dumbbells, go running/sprinting A LOT. Ideally you should go to the gym asap but if you’re insanely out of shape those are the 3 basic stuff you should start doing for home exercise. Also improve your posture, put the monitor on a stand. Don’t sit for hours on end.

youtube.com/watch?v=BX_ZX4DLj20

While I do use my computer like now, I try not to make it part of who I am. We are constantly stimulated by technology. This is unnatural since we used to be able to just sit for hours and reflect on things, now we get anxious if there is no internet connection. I have a garden I go sit in during the late afternoon and just gaze out on the nearby mountains. Really healthy and fulfilling.

The only "good" things modern society has brought involves making life painstakingly easy and near meaningless. You don’t want to be dependent on the state once post-industrial society hits and we become unproductive slaves for our monthly food ration.

I was making strides but I've done very shitty this week

These are meant as resources, not ‘recommended reading’ necessarily.

Can't seem to get any motivation. I used to be in shape but even then women didn't like me so it seems like, objectively, I'm not worth anything. Idk what I'd even be improving toward

Don't improve yourself for women. Improve yourself to make yourself better. If you pursue this with determination then women will come to you anyway.

Live in accordance with nature, make your Ancestors proud, make God happy, and make yourself someone your younger self would look up to.

Start small, read a page from a book, walk in the woods, buy organic foods instead of eating fast food.

Vegetable Crop Yields, Plants per Person, and Crop Spacing

Vegetable crop yields and the number of vegetable plants to grow for each person in your household will help you estimate the space needed for a home vegetable garden.

Crop yield estimates and consumption predictions are largely base on experience. Keeping a food log and garden record can help you hone your vegetable garden needs and make for smarter planning.

Vegetable crop yields will vary according to garden conditions and variety planted. Weather and growing conditions can change from year to year, and these changes can affect yield.

Here are crop yield estimates, plants-per-person suggestions, and crop spacing requirements to help you estimate your garden space requirements and growing requirements. Use these estimates with your own experience.

>as nature is inherently Fascist
I agree with everything else but this is just nonsense.

Go out and make your ancestors proud. Don't wait for tomorrow.

HE PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS

This is probably a dumb idea, but would anyone be interested in a Sup Forums sig book club? If so, is there any reasonable way to organize it here, or would we have to take it to discord or something?

I want to read, but the books are dense and the motivation isn't there. I can't go to the gym with you guys, but we could discuss important books for politics and philosophy.

My advice would be to set up a separate general specific to right wing literature. /RWL/ or something like that.

Why can't you edgelords be fan of the Caesars or the Christian emperors? These Numales are OVER RATED

How do I stop coming back to this horrid website?

To fel better user. Also self improvement will help your prefrontal cortex and dopamine balance. Look up some ways of ncreasing / balancing dopamine. Depending on your current state you might need RESET stuff ; examples being quitting porn, cutting down on sugar and carbs for a while, cutting down massively on internet and electronic use for a while, and so on. This may likely lead to a bit of a depression, BUT it will help reset your brain and if you can endure 3-4 weeks you will be a fresh man, or fresher.

Or you need to boost it, do this via Gamification (google it) and dopamine boosting foods and lifestyle, google the topic "foods that boost dopamine" or perhaps the "the dopamine lifestyle". One major thing is reducing stress, which means getting more sleep, more exercize, making lists & being a bit more productie (to reduce mental stress) and also getting enough water and vitamins, minerals, protein, to give body ways to deal with normal life stressors.

Make a real effort to remember that you only need to spend 20-30% of your PC time on other things to be better than, idk, 80% of humanity. And healthier than 100% of your previous habits.

Stop smoking.
Stop staying up late.
Stop eating junk food.

YOU CAN DO IT!

I like the idea of these threads but then you kill it for me with that crucifix in the picture

what are you going to do with all the billlions of animals then? release them into the wild?

blease stob arguing :D:D no need to shid up the bread :D:D

here you go

stop them from reproducing until 95%+ of them die out, same thing that should be done about the starving africans

hey thanks!

Following Christ is certainly one way to improve yourself. There is a reason leftists and communists hate Christ so much. He stood for everything they hate.

However if you are not religious there are a great many philosophers you can read that address the same moral and ethical lifestyles that Christianity does.

so you would deny 95% of animals the right to reproduce? and then what? release their offspring into a wild they havent been in for 10,000 years and selectively bred to not survive in?

what do you make of this?

>saved

This is the same thing OP proposes we do as a species. Nature, as he said, is "Fascist", in which the strong survive, and the weak die. The animals, like ourselves, will have to adapt, or perish.

Concerning the first issue, New Testament Christians are no longer under the Old Testament Law, and circumcision is no longer required. This is brought out in a number of New Testament passages, among which are Acts 15; Galatians 2:1–3; 5:1–11; 6:11–16; 1 Corinthians 7:17–20; Colossians 2:8–12; and Philippians 3:1–3. As these passages proclaim, being delivered from our sins is the result of faith in Christ; it is Christ’s finished work on the cross that saves, not the observance of an external rite. Even the Law acknowledged that circumcision alone was insufficient to please God, who specified the need to “circumcise your hearts” (Deuteronomy 10:16; cf. Romans 2:29). In salvation, the works of the flesh accomplish nothing (see Galatians 2:16).

galations is in the new testament, jesus says that if you are circumcised then you are going to hell if you dont look like a hasidic jew

not release them into the wild. since 95%+ of pigs wont exist for commercial reasons you wont need millions of them on farms, you just need to keep a few thousand so they still exist with genetic variability. obviously this cant happen until a NatSoc revolution but when that happens things like junk food and welfare wont exist for people to drag down society and keeping a set amount of animals for the soul reason of having them exist isnt gonna be a problem

I Military Pressed 205 LB

Train yourself to fight and defend what is yours. Do not go looking for a fight, but be prepared for when the time comes.

so in your world we still have farmers that keep pigs and such but dont profit from them? is this to keep a supply of fertilizer? but then how is that any different than farming them for food?

gjdm

That doesn't make his lessons on how to live a good life any less valid you retarded cunt

Make a Legacy that will last for generations.

laziness is my only problem

i didnt say farmers, i said farms. and we already spend millions trying to stop species from going extinct with breeding programs, once society fixes itself, and the difference between farming them for manure fertiliser is that for food you have to breed heaps of them and fertiliser is just an added bonus for keeping them alive for the purpose of keeping them alive

get rid of protein powder, and just eat real food

why?

Yeah fuck gardening. Been there, done it. Somewhere a guy gets paid to grow shit.

>the virgin 1-acre holding
>the Chad 5-acre holding

in the us and probably aussieland as well this is where cows live, do you propose we get rid of the native species of plants and animals that live there to make way for the increase in farm land that we need?

Why would you pay for some mexicans to grow your crops and ship them all the way to you when you could grow them with your own hands and harvest them freshly?

thats a terribly ill informed picture, cows need 4 acres each of pasture, you could have a cow tethered in such a small place with out buying in all the food, which negates the purpose

as i said before, a NatSoc revolution must happen, its inevitable, and when it happens the world population will go down to aboue 1 billion so youre not going to need the farmland anyway

Thanks for posting the original.

lol holy shit does this fat bitch have TACO tattooed on her fucking fingers. How fucking retarded of a human do you have to be to legitimately want that on your body in a very visible place for the rest of your life ?

so you propose waiting until this alleged "natsoc revoltion" before switching to a vegetarian lifestyle since it is not practical before hand? Youre whole plan relies on a killing 85% of the world population?

Why not pay some white men to do the work?

no its good to switch beforehand, im not naive, i know not everyone can switch before a revolution, hence we need one anyway

and you think this makes you sound like a sane, reasonable person?

These things love showing off how disgusting they are.

ofcourse

i rest my case

you dont have a case

If plain /sig/ gets shoahed again my suggestion is to make /natsig/ (or whatever) just political enough so that it doesn't get moved to /bant/ without going overboard. The /natsig/ threads the past week have felt a lot less self improvey than /sig/ normally is. I guess it's not too surprising since it was the merging of two threads rather than slapping a natsoc veneer onto /sig/

Autumn is a good time to set up your new garden for next year

How to start a no dig garden youtu.be/Mmv2zGfhG8w
If wind isn't a problem or you have constant snow in the winter, then feel free to use leaves/grass clippings instead of a tarp. Put 6+ inches of material down and then when you go to plant in spring just make an opening in the mulch to get to the soil, plant, and leave a bit of an opening for the plant to grow. Once it's grown above the mulch (which will be a fraction of the height it was when you put it on), feel free to add more mulch around the base of the plant completely covering the soil.
A mulch layer helps prevent weeds from growing and it helps retain moisture by stopping the sun from directly drying out the soil, plus it decomposes providing nutrients to your plants. youtu.be/3KwprzjMSxc
If you're in America and starting up a new garden, call 811 and have them mark where underground cables and such are buried on your property
Also check out the gardening general on /out/ If you're interested in getting the most calories out of your land as possible then legumes, potatoes, and maize are the way to go. It just so happens that those aren't expensive to buy, so you may find it more efficient to grow the pricier veggies instead

Farmer's markets exist though. And unless you live in a super yuppie area (in which case leave), it's really not expensive to buy good local produce from a farmer's market. Support your local farmers!

>tfw no uni, no land, no job, no friends, no gf, no hope, thinking of suicide all day everyday

i unironically plan on obtaining shovels, seeds, axes and saw trough any means this winter, and just fucking off into the first forest type place and claiming it, making it mine, farming there in peace till they come to drag me dead away from there
my only question is how to maintain internet
got literally everything else more or less covered

guess i will have to get some car batteries and pedal while i browse internet in the future i guess
