It's hard to say. I was skeptical of Christianity when I was 9 years old or so. Leftists organize a lot of subcultures to draw in youth, I drifted into one of those as a teenager.
I didn't really start going out and organizing , agitating etc. until I was 28. I agreed with the ideas, but wasn't active.

Well I'd look at who switched sides. A lot of conservatives don't know how much of the conservative movement is made up of people who were far left and moved "right". Which changed the conservative movement and old right. Only people who talk about neo-conservatives like Pat Buchanan still talk about this. And things have changed to where he can't be on MSNBC with a show any more.
The National Review was founded with a lot of former communists. James Burnham, Whittaker Chambers, John dos Passos, Max Eastman. Then later on came more neo-cons: Norman Podheretz , Irving Kristol, Jeane Kirkpatrick, Joshua Muravchik etc,
Also people like David Horowitz.

The way it works is, when you get power, or a movement going forward, you generally push as far as it will go. It's hard to see how far things can go so you just push them as much as they will. Once pushed too far, they can be pushed back, but not back from the starting point.
For example, in 1977 the French left began pushing for the legalization of pedophilia, and this had recent precedents and subsequent actions (NAMBLA was formed a year later). But at this point, the left realized it had pushed the sexual revolution too far, and the bourgeoisie and western working class would not yet be accepting of this. So things like this can be pushed back.

Some of what he says is correct, some is not. His notions of intelligence are absurd. I know a number of wealthy-born idiots who are still wealthy, and very intelligent people who move up very slowly. Establishing an authoritarian regime is not leftist.
The book Fanshen notes what happened in China - communists came to villages and prepared farmers to confront the landlords. Then "speak bitterness" sessions happened where the farmers (regular people, NOT communists) stood up in front of the whole village and told the landlord off, as he sat in the middle with a dunce cap being spit on and kicked by the villagers. Mao instructed that if the villagers wished to kill the landlords, the cadre should not interfere.
This sort of thing works. Or the "Smash the four olds" campaign where red guards destroyed religious buildings or anything traditional.
Once you get ordinary people attacking their landlords and burning down churches, you don't need an established authoritarian regime.

We worked very hard for the US to encounter trouble in the Iraq War and for people to turn against it. We were successful in this.
I had some involvement in Occupy Wall Street. Not from the beginning - it can be hard to tell when something will catch on. It brought more youth into the movement.
I have technical skills so help movements with that.
