Honest question, Sup Forums. When someone kills people and is caught in the act of doing it and openly accepts that they did it, is it really necessary to go through the whole charade of throwing them in jail and giving them a trial?
Take this guy in NYC. He ran over and killed 8 people and they caught him in the act of doing it. There's no question about who did it and there's not anything to be gained from putting this all through court.
In such cases wouldn't it just be easier to take him out and hang him the same afternoon and call it a day?
