I'm not a leftist by any means. From the perspective of a Communist or Lefty and even that of the political right, what did this guy do wrong? What did he do right?
Please provide a rational/objective answer. I'm just trying to figure out from even the Commie's perspective how this guy could be considered ideologically infallible - or if he got it all wrong.

According to many of them, nothing. He's still popular in Russia. In fact, if Soviety Russia had never collapsed, we'd still have Western commies praising him and his hellish system. If there's one thing I've learned about commies, it's that they're followers to a fault. They don't doubt their leaders. Western commies only started condemning Stalin when it became social suicide to not do so.
