Every Bitcoin transaction uses 220kwh of energy, enough to run a non-American house for weeks/months Even by American standards, it's excessive There are 300,000 transactions every day
What a fucking waste for our species to be doing this, imagine if an alien species watched us from afar and saw us wasting all this energy on fucking nothing
It's about time governments banned this nonsense. We don't need regulation, we need an outright ban. Shut down all exchanges, confiscate all the equipment. End it.
They just made some clickbait and shilled it on Sup Forums to see what happens
Alexander Scott
It means BTC uses X amount of electricity every day (due to mining) divided by the 300,000 transactions a day figure = giving you an average of 220kwh per transaction.
As the price of BTC goes up, mining becomes more viable (and harder) and so it uses even more electricity.
At this rate, the whole BTC scam will be using as much power as a medium sized country by 2018.
Dylan Torres
>It's about time governments banned this nonsense. fuck off shill. All that is needed is to transition to POS in stead of POW.

Something will replace BTC. I can't say what it is. It can be something else than Bitcoin Cash(BCH) but most probably it will be BCH.
BTC is old. Transactions take like fucking 1 hour. Consumes too much energy and don't have good privacy features embedded in it. You need to use Tor with it to be fully anonymous etc etc. It will die.

Bitcoin is a Talmud Jew scam to waste energy, provide a "currency" that literally has no value, can trace ALL transactions, shows the value of everyone's account and the password can be cracked by the same server farms decoding the transaction for more virtual coins.

I thought about block chain calculations and giant (exponentially) resources they require just to verify money transactions. I would create some cryptocurrency based on scientific distributed calculations similar to Boinc, currency mining would move our science forward and each contributor would get a reward for this as emmited coins.
Michael Bailey
BTC is literally legacy technology, it uses Proof of Work which is on its way out already, in a few years any decent crypto currency is gonna be using Proof of Stake which is much more efficient

Hollywood publicly promoted Pedophilia for decades. They have been getting away with this shit for years but the Spacey scandal is the start of (((their))) downfall.
Shirley Temple was abused for years in the entertainment industry and is the earliest example of a child being exploited by Pedophiles in entertainment.: youtu.be/rrjvifKXQy4

How about letting people decide as it's their energy? It's also about time your government paid the debt.

>What a fucking waste for our species to be doing this Bitcoin transactions don't "use energy" - this is skewed perspective of how Bitcoin's thermodynamic security operates.
Bitcoin actually stores energy in the form of money.

We'll save plenty of energy when we close all the government and kike banking bureaucracy associated with controlling money and stealing from people some time after the next financial crisis.

This sounds way too much like bullshit. Prove it or fucking kill yourself you lying nigger.
Lucas Hughes
yep. It's working too, mining with your own machine is becoming so expensive that they're now outsourcing the work through bitcoin mining scripts running in the background of websites. I believe adblockers and anti-malware extensions are already reacting to that.

That's wrong. The OPEC's decision to trade oil only in dollars ensures that the dollar is more valuable than it would be otherwise. But it's not backing the dollar at all. If the dollar was backed by oil 1dollar would be anchored to oil like 1 dollar = 1 gallon of oil, that would suck though.
Owen Watson
So hypothetically when all the bitcoins are mined (yes I know this takes a very long time) how would transactions be processeD?
