What's the edgiest thing that you've ever seen in an anime?

What's the edgiest thing that you've ever seen in an anime?

Handholding

Please donĀ“t v& me.

Black bullet ending

The entirety of Hellsing ultimate

I don't know if it counts, but I dropped Sword Art: Online when they killed those characters off too make Kirito feel bad but completely skipped the fight with evil robot Santa.

ending of black bullet/literally all of akame ga kill

Second place is a tie between NTR Fairy tear licking and ASADA.wav

Akame ga Kill and SAO are masterpieces of how not to do x.

what happened in Akame Ga Kill

There are way too many anime that do it, but;

>Violence for the sake of being violent
Best example with current shows is that Vivid one, where the silver haired girl beats the three girls to a bloody pulp at some lockers. I don't know the plot other than "they made her miss her grandpa's death" and flushing a jewel or something down a toilet, but disregarding how fucking stupid the bullying was, this beatdown was NOT called for.

Whenever there's violence for the sake of it, it's absolutely stupid. Fighting series get a pass since violence is kind of required to build a villain, but when you just have some random guy or girl harming people physically beyond reason, it's absolutely unnecessary.

Also the licking thing mentioned. That was ENTIRELY pointless. We already knew the guy was fucked up in the head, but the licking scene was like watching an accidental sex scene with your family on a movie night. It was so awkward and our of place.

The entirety of Tokyo Ghoul root A

Narutaru.

The puppy killing scene in Elfen Lied.
> XD I want to kill your puppy by bludgeoning it in the classroom

>edgy

Any scene where a loli is denied headpats.

The last episode of the Blood show that Clamp wrote.

I note that especially not just because of the level of violence, but also just how gratuitous it is and how spiteful to the viewer the intent behind the story is.

This thread

When a character died their family went to his funeral and as they mourned the clown raped and killed both the wife and his daughter on his grave

Probably most of Elfen Lied

what kind of nose is this?

The entirety of GantZ.

Free violence.
Free interracial rape.
Characters like Nishi who's only purpose is to up the edge-o-metter.

Really, Gantz doesn't even pretend to be deep, it's all about the edge.

I disagree with your notion that edginess is tied to violence.

this. 8man is edgy without being violent.

The shit in Gantz with the woman who kept almost getting raped, and then had her vagina licked by the dog.

Nah, that doesn't even come close to Tokyo Ghoul shit which isn't even fun.

Then again it's 8man that's edgy, not the show itself. At least the superior in every way other than production value first season

that puppy scene in Elfen Lied

Deadman Wonderland

First episode of Kotoura San

Wolf Man and its 14 chapters of rape

The first half of the first episode of Kotoura-san was a comic masterpiece.

The clown from and the dogs.

Not as edgy as Blood C or Akame. but this show went for so much unexpected edge that it ended up being nonsensical and kinda fun.

All the fighters ended up with real trauma from their fights.
[spoilerMC kills her last opponent in a fit of rage.
The tournament was a lie..
Orchestrated to gather sex slaves in a really overcomplicated way.
Set up by her friend, her other friend and the love interest
Who might have been her siblings. I don't remember.
Some bizarre double shyamalan involving her bf and some guy we had never met before.
Her mom was a murderer and a cuck.
And her dad a serial rapist and also a murderer.
And the conflict is resolved with the cast dying in a giant fiery explosion.

And the show starts out as a really shitty copy of Ikkitousen/Queen's Blade.

I have trouble believing they meant it to be edgy. It had to be intentional comedy.

Had to rewatch the scene from Black Bullet. That was just a character flipping her shit and being hell-bent on revenge.

You don't even watch the show yet you're submitting that as an example of over-the-top violence? Holy shit, get the fuck out of here.

>cool fight scenes
>edgy
Are they not allowed to fight with blood or something? Is that really too much for you?

I came here to post this.

The terrorist bitch from mirai Nikki, she literally bombed a school and hospital

>terrorist
>bombing is "edgy"
I'm not trying to be a contrarian or anything, but do you guys even know what edgy means? The word is just as bastardized as meme at this point.

The stasi in Muv-Luv: Schwarzesmarken. They were so pointlessly cruel that they'd sacrifice their men (despite being low on manpower) for no reason, then have a giggle at it. They torture and kill people at random, all in the public eye, and pretty much admit to being douchebags to everyone. Finally, they're in the middle of a war against a bunch of genocidal aliens that are on the verge of killing them all, and they decide to purposely sabotage the army (because they want more power), conduct coups, be enemies with the West (despite being cut off from the USSR), use the general mayhem to abuse their population, and generally behave in the most mind numbilingly stupid (and evil) way possible. The funny thing is is that the rest of the characters are somewhat realistic or down to earth, making their over the top behavior stand out even more.

Higurashi, edge of the week.

the first 5 minutes of elfen lied

last 2 episodes of evangelion

Blood -C ending or the puppy in Elfen Lied.
Really both of those shows are babby's first edge.

Canaan episode 11.

Show would've faded into complete obscurity without the edgelord crap in that episode. Thanks Okada

I don't understand why so many people like that show. Do they think it's mature because it's violent?

Gundam Seed.
People get microwaved in their cockpit.
Uncle Jiart in Majestic Prince is pretty edgy too.

That stasi woman was the main reason why I couldn't take that show seriously. They wanted to do a super serious war drama, but then throw in a character who behaves like a one dimensional shonen villain. It just ran up against everything else in the anime.

Blood -C sword fight sounded like gmod metal sounds

That whole series is just goreporn.
>you rike cute girr? too bad here gory death scene Fuck you!

You guys mentioning Elfen Lied are reminding me of why I can never like The Butterfly Effect. Fuck that scene.

>cast dying in a giant fiery explosion.

Main chick survived and went to finish up loose ends. Also known as cold blooded murder.

GOLDEN DROPU DA
KYAHAHAHAHAHA *cakcle*cackle
ITS PERFECTO

I loved how the main villain revealed at the end that he just wanted to kill everyone. His rants at the end made me laugh.

It's within the realm of how fucking bullshit or nonsensical as to why the fuck is this written or shown again? What is the point? That's why alot of the things listed here are bullshit from alot of stories.

Completely unnecessary and needlessly violent execution. 10 minutes of torture porn inflicted on an innocent non-deserving of this fate high school girl.

She just wanted to play geimu with her husbando ;_;

elaborate.

I've seen both but atm I can't connect the two, what are you talking about?

It was actually pretty tame compared to most of the series.

this.
Why would do this for fun?
How mindfuck should you be to even think about it when you're 6 years old?

Hellsing Ultimate is edgy done right.

I usually like to rate these kinds of occasions as not "edgy", but pointless and just utterly stupid. Just nonsensical as to why this was even permitted. That is why AKG utterly failed for repeating the same bullshit with making the villains too one-dimensional to a great fault.
> The manga was better!
No it wasn't. It became even more bullshit with each passing minute with those kinds of villains.

When I was 11 I saw some west Virginia kids nail a puppy to the wall of a barn

When I was 11 I was trading pokemon cards

You know, usually I'm against stuff like this, but that was an extremely satisfying kill.

We both come from a different neck of the woods I would say.

Unlimited Blade Works: Gilgamesh ripping Ilya's heart out.

9982's death.

that shit took me like a week to recover from.

for me it was made all the more sad that you knew she was going to die.

anyway this is a memento to 9982

fuck forgot the image.

Not anime but I felt like the last 3 volumes of HakoMari were edgy as fuck. Someone it made it work really well, but damn if it was handled by a worse writer that kind of bleak dark shit would have been a laughingstock.

Hakomari was bullshit in absolute context.
> Chainsaw massacre
> Headbangs
I was not impressed. The context is terrible no matter regardless of how pretty it looks or how fancy it is written in style.

Fruit Grisiasia was pretty edgy at some points and pretty dumb to be fairly honest. I could honestly say I had no recollection of what was happening half the time but the only scene I remember truly was
where the bus crash happened and they started slowly eating all thier classmates and the teacher went rabid and syarted fucking all the students
The bullies put the pup in the canvas bag and light it on fire. Ashton Kutcher's main character was thrown to the ground and just helplessly watched..

The gore in Genocyber maybe

Ugh, Amane's route is my least favorite because that stupid flashback. Shit was way overdrawn.

nice spoilers btw

Yep it pretty much wasted time, also who was that one girl that was like a daughter of a president or some shit, that was pretty dumb episode as well and what about that multiple personality chick.

>they are good spoilers

Came here to post this.

In anime, probably something in Higurashi but it's been so long since I watched it. In manga, meet dog or clown rape in AgK come to mind.

Probably

The manga was nice

Chirico
Everywhere he goes things start exploding, planets explode, friendly fire, allies dying, space station falling from orbit.
Literally natural disaster made flesh.

The beginning of Berserk and the ending of the anime.
HxH in general is low key edgy as fuck.

They had Nazis who didn't do shit about Jews, how is that edgy?

This guy killed hundreds of soldiers trapped in a room, as a teenager, because they lost a battle and failed to uphold "justice", and gets promoted for being a psychopath. Then he pretends to be a misunderstood quiet dude who only looks edgy and evil, while actually being a total savage. To me that was damn edgy.

ur mum lol

Ideon Invoked

I hope you assaulted them with the nearest heavy blunt object.

berserk was one of the innovators so I personally can't really hold that against it

Came here for this
Also this jewel, i's even more hilarious once you realize both that she did this to herself and that no one acknowledges she dies or even remembers her by the end.

The phantom troupe is kind of edgy in the first place but this guy's on another level.

A solid example of edgy done wrong.

Probably the torture scene with the centipede in Tokyo Ghoul or when shit went south in the Chimera Ant arc of HxH.

That fucking vivisection scene from Duradura.

Children can exhibit psychopathic tendencies at a very young age if they have experienced extremely traumatic events such as sexual or other types of abuse. Go watch "Child of Rage" if you want to have a bad time.

The second half of Narutaru

You can just say Sasuke and that would cover 99% of the edge in Naruto.

>doesn't know there's an anime named Narutaru
Lurk 2 years before posting.

Gantz was all about making people disappointedly shake their heads and go "they're not REALLY going to do that," and then doing it.

In the game, he looks Shirou in the eyes as he rips Illya's heart out

The entirety of Elfen Lied. By far the worst anime I've seen.

Good god, I had to screen that shit not too long ago. I could feel the 2D razor blades coming out of the screen during those few rare moments when the show wasn't being fucking awful.

Manga ends with everyone dying.

Children are more likely to engage in animal torture than you would think.

no uuuuuuu
