I've been watching anime on and off for years, but when I'm trying to decide what to watch I've always had a hard time picking between animes with long all-Japanese titles, which is most anime. Judging a book by its cover is one of my favourite ways of deciding what to do, when there's so much to pick from. I suppose that's why reading Sup Forums or some other community like it is important, otherwise it's hard to get into.

The majority of Sup Forums has terrible taste. Rec threads are not allowed and spoonfeeding neither. Most threads have a fanart OP about some waifu (i.e., false advertising) or flavor of the month 'fun' shit shows. Discovering anime through Sup Forums will definitely warp or even hinder your experience so I don't get what's so important about it.
