Trump has already deployed American troops to Niger in order to advance France's control of Mali. Taking out Muammar Gaddafi was instrumental to the future plan of attack: Amerikkka and other western imperialist powers want control of the Sahel region - from Mauritania/Senegambia to Somalia - in order to secure its vast untapped resources. Mali, Niger, and Chad, in particular, are full of oil and minerals as is Sudan.
But it doesn't stop there. China's involvement in Africa is huge, Mugabe being one of their biggest allies. Once Amerikkka and Europe start installing permanent presence in the region they will be on China's doorstep, and will no doubt be heading towards war.

Interesting thesis, but I think you're very much mistaken.
First of all, France has the entire Sahel region save for Sudan on lockdown. Françafrique is one hell of a thing, and most countries in these regions either have some military cooperation agreement with France or is under direct occupation by the French military. Ten there's the whole CEFA thing. Unless the French start actively dismantling the Fashoda doctrine, they're not leaving for a long time. Though given how retardedly left wing the French are, that's possible.
Secondly, the extent of "Chinese" investments relates mostly to individual Chinese and much less the Chinese government. Individual Chinese want to get their wealth out of China precisely because they very much distrust their local economies. The Chinese military has, at least until they get their first aircraft carrier built, little possibility to project power over large distances. Sure, if the French decide to invade China they're fucked beyond belief but the Chinese aren't going to compete with France for a while. Assuming the French aren't retarded, they're already preparing to lock the entire African market down to prevent Chinese influence.
Finally, even if the whole Mugabe thing is true we'll at best see proxy wars à la Vietnam rather than a real world war.
