I want them to have that drilled into their heads that Nigel was the beginning of the end for their fucked up plans. After about a couple of months or so (maybe less, most politicians would likely break easily), you pull them out of solitary and give them a nice, hot, good meal. You give them a chance to step outside (with an escort of course), and enjoy the wonderfully sunny day. Maybe play a sport or two to lift their spirits. After some fun in the sun, you bring them back inside for another good meal, and give them a nice soft, warm bed to sleep in. They wake up the next day to the news that policies have changed, and in a brief time, they will be let out, free of all charges. At this point they're elated that their brief hell is finally over. But that's not all, they're told they have one conjugal visitor waiting for them. Naturally they're elated, and eagerly rush to see them. Once they get in the room, they find it's dimly lit, and has a faint, yet intoxicating scent of lavender and jasmine. They begin walking towards the silhouette of a scantily clad woman. Once they almost touch, the hologram disappears, and behind a sheet of bulletproof glass is a bar, with Nigel and a few of the jail's employees sitting at a bar, having a pint. He greets them with his classic "good morning" to the laughter of all the patrons, then proceeds to tell them jokes about that specific EU politician's behaviors. Obviously the politician loses their shit and starts screaming, unfortunately the room is sound proofed. Nigel continues his bants until the 30-60 minutes is up, then the politician is let out of the room, yelling and screaming hysterically. Physically assaulting guards, etc.

Now of course due to their bad behavior, their release date is postponed, and due to their violent behavior towards the guards, they are put back into solitary confinement for the safety of both the guards and the other inmates. Then the cycle begins anew. Except, each time they make it to the conjugal, it's different guards with Nigel, and every guard that has witnessed them in that room, gives a subtle smile and wink anytime they see them in the prison. Thus slowly eroding at the sanity, and turning them into an incomprehensible mess. After all of that, it honestly is letting them off easy for the damage they've done to Europe. But it's a good start in my books.
