What loli? Anime in 2016 is nothing but old hag propaganda

Ban new Light novel adaptations. All of them.

Yes there will collateral damage, but it's worth it.

I haven't watched hardly any anime this season, but it sounds like I should

what's wrong with Light novels?

Trump please fund Sup Forums

Oh he will.
Wait for it. Just wait for JapaneseMoot to message us that Trump has bought Sup Forums, and all of it's servers. He wants to thank us for getting him into the white house

It doesn't seem like unfamiliarity with the conventions of the English language should necessarily be a 1:1 correspondence with being completely fucking retarded. Yet that is the pattern, time after time. Why is this, exactly?

Books frighten and confuse people. If an adaptation is bad, it's easy to blame it on the book. Few people will have read the book, so there's little chance of being proven wrong.

Were they even trying when writing this meme reply? Look, if you want to defend Yui's statement as some kind of philosophy, here it is:
>Fun things are fun
While the statement doesn't mean much by itself, consider what isn't being said. She's distinctly NOT saying "I find fun things fun" or "Fun comes from fun things." Instead she's taking the position that fun is an *inherent property* of fun things, like how "solid" is an inherent property of ice. This is something of an uncommon position in modern philosophy, which tends towards the materialistic-reductive perspective that "fun" exists only in the human mind. In fact, Yui is making a short but impassioned case for the pre-materialistic perspective that fun is an objective fact about the world rather than some meaningless relative notion that only exists in people's heads.

K-on is more reactionary than LoGH.

>Muh source material

Only nothing to do with being a book, Anime that are based off actual novels are received pretty well actually.

The reason so many of them are shit is a combination of the barrier to entry being extremely low (no artistic talent needed, many authors get published from contests open to people as young as jr high) and the fact that the editors have basically zero standards and will push whatever flavor of the month happens to be.

>meme reply
There's your answer.

>Gee, this contemporary fantasy/isekai/battle-harem adaptation #851342 sure is garbage but I'm sure it's all the studio's fault and the LN must be fantastic!

It's easy to blame the book because it's usually correct to do so. The fact that they often get shitty low-budget adaptations is because they care more about boosting LN sales than making good anime. It's a symptom, not the root cause.

You're drawing an imaginary distinction between novel and light novel. The latter is just a marketing term referring to vaguely otaku-oriented serialized books with illustrations. The same editors and publishers handle both.

And this is the problem. You've done no research and are spouting the "all LNs are isekai" meme. There are bad LNs, but plenty of good ones as well.

>imaginary distinction

-Light novels are very often serialized
-Light novels are often published by companies that specialize in them
-Light novels contain illustrations and cover art in the anime style

"Novels" such as Shin sekai yori and Hyouka meet none of those conditions.

I didn't say that they're identical, I meant that you're hyping.

And you're wrong. Hyouka is part of a series, and Kadokawa Shoten has published light novels before.

LNs are a medium. I wouldn't go about judging a medium, you're bound to sound like a jackass.

Also the distinction between a novel and a light novel is pretty fucking arbitrary.

That said, I won't deny that "adaptions" ring more alarms bells to me than "TV originals" do.

>imports will be more expensive now
>Trump is going to shut down whole sections of the internet
Making it great again alright

>"all LNs are isekai" meme
Stop projecting, I didn't say all LNs are isekai. I only used it as an example of how LN authors are very quick to write whatever is selling well and their editors are pushing the same thing.

Tell me of the last time you heard of a manga or literature contest outright BANNING the use of a plot device? Or one where over half of all the the top 10 have very similar plots and settings? And that doesn't even count the mountains of works they sit atop.

Fuck off back to

>user is this much of a mediahore

More high budget two cour SoL series similar to K-On!! and Hanasaku Iroha

the internet is degenerate, have you seen how much porn it has?

You don't actually believe that, do you. I doubt Trump even believed in half the bullshit that came out of his mouth while running for pres.

>it's a read the source material episode
Face it, user, 95% of LN's are shit

Does Kadokawa still do LNs? I don't remember much after Haruhi and Maoyu Mao Yuusha, the latter of which doesn't really count.

You realize being a prsident doesn't make you god emperor of America right?

just a reminder that twitter wanted us to want the ruler of america to be a man who wants to regulate internet speech

Light novels are also marketed exclusively toward a YA audience. Book stores in japan have sections (if not entire sides) dedicated to them and if you want to get REALLY pedantic they are basically all printed on A6 sized paper.

If you actually start reading them even more becomes apparent. They almost all are written in story arcs that are split into 2-3 volumes each (while a book series might do an entire arc per volume) and many of them have adopted a style of prose consisting of short, sometimes fragmented thoughts or sentences followed by a lengthier internal monologue that I would reckon is almost endemic to the medium since I haven't seen it anywhere else except maybe a few english YA novels.

>what's wrong with Light novels?
ironically, they're most likely to be the worst written

Force young animators to work on paper without digital production to clean up after themselves for the first 10 years of their career.

Would be nice to see lineart lighter than a fucking crayon again as a side benefit.

State-funded arts with a lower volume created but much longer production times.

Of course he will, it's not like you guys were a bunch of useful idiots or anything.

What's up with the growing trend of people going "hurr who are you quoting" lately? Greentext hasn't been used as just quotation for fucking years now.

Sup Forums has a higher standard for usage of the greater-than symbol

Sup Forums != Sup Forums

It's only a matter of time. He has the Senate, he has the House, soon he will have the Court.

>Sup Forums has a higher standard for usage of the greater-than symbol
Nice joke. I take it you haven't actually been on Sup Forums too often lately.

but in social media people use @nickname for that
Sup Forums has a lot of uses for the greater than symbol

He will probably make a move against people who consume underage anime girl child porn. Which is "whatever" on my list.

The problem is Pence and the possibility of some law that limits how much you can use/parody Christian elements in media.

Make Anime Gar Again

Wasn't Mr. Pres against net neutrality? It won't affect anime directly but it might be bad for my Taiwanese talking picture discussion locations.

to be fair most of the "right now" anime on there are pretty shitty, just with nice visuals.
