The show is now adapting stuff from the light novels starting with Sasuke's story. The recent few backstory episodes are just anime-original filler.

I think this is one of the LNs.

I hope it's good. The filler so far has been pretty decent, even good at times.

Also I'm glad we're seeing more Sasuke.

They should name an eye cancer dedicated to Sasuke.

Osamu Kobayashi's brief stint as series director was interesting. Chiaki Kon's probably taking over starting with the Sasuke novel adaptation.

Only three novels are confirmed so far.
