Is there anything good about Nadeko's personality since I guess people think she at least looks good

She's not a pussy and put Shinobu in her place.

>She's not a pussy
wat

>put Shinobu in her place
wat

Nadeko takes shit from no one, even her own parents are terrified. You have to find that kind of admirable.

Nadeko's entire life is built on being too much of a pussy to try at anything. Shinobu cares more about Araragi's feelings than a few stab wounds.

She puts herself back together after Koi and strives to become a better person.

OK, guys, I have a serious question.
Let's imagine, that Kaiki is right and all that supernatural shit is not real. That everything that we see is just a projections of teenage mental problems. So, what was so dangerous in Nadeko IRL that it could "kill" everyone else?

Don't you dare talk trash about her not only she looks gorgeous in her Snake GOdess form, but she also have a brilliant personnality.

Her cuteness.

200% Snek

Poison and Knives.

She's a creative little shit to the extent Gaen made her an exorcist.
People would let their guard down around her and then BAM, knife to the back while you hear complaining about how I'm sick of being kawaii.

That arc was the best because it had my two waifu hanging out together.

BEST GIRL

>Let's imagine, that Kaiki is right
Well, there's your problem

Focus on Black Hanekawa more.

That looks fucking terrible and you should kill yourself for posting it

I like her but not on your pic.

Better? Just please stop posting Tsubasa. No one likes her. Black is best.

Best girl

No

white > black

True for both cats and people.

It is better indeed.

To me as long as she doesn't have her glasses and tails she looks fine.

I will never understand why people like Tsubasa more than the black male cat.

She/he is much more fun and interesting. Not to mention sexier. Love the upsloped yellow eyes, cat ears and long beautiful hair, spirited personality

Tsubasa just looks like a plain Jane to me.

Can someone please give a brief explanation why some people like Tsubasa / black?

>That everything that we see is just a projections of teenage mental problems.
Did he actually say that? If so, damn, that's deep.

>There are actually people out there who would forgo this and go for Tsubasa.

I dunno as I said to me she looks fine shorthaired but that is just because I have a thing for tomboy, and since she isn't really one this why I just like her, but I rather cat.

No, he didn't, but it is implied.

I was genuinely sad when black lost his hair.

>Nadeko's entire life is built on being too much of a pussy to try at anything

That's entirely not true. I'll dig up what I posted last night (thread 404d) and you'll see that Nadeko's character is very deep and interesting, which is why I like her (even though many anons here don't, or just like memeing that they don't like her).

(n response to "why do you like Nadeko? I think she's too immature.)

She is immature, and I like her because of it. You have to remember she is technically one of the youngest if not the youngest girls in the series (Tsukihi might be younger, I'm not sure. I also count Hachikuji as 20 something, even though her kid form is technically 11). She's immature, but she isn't willfully immature. She's lived a sheltered life, though I would argue not much more sheltered than a typical girl of her age. Her immaturity does in a way keep her more pure as she's not as jaded or skeptical as any of the other characters. Remember Hachikuji tried as hard as she could to get Araragi to get away from her as to not become lost, and said she's done that many times (pushing people who could see her away) which leads to her being cold emotionally (though she warms up to Araragi quickly).

Additionally, Nadeko is very driven and motivated to do things once she sets her mind to it. In the Snake arc, she is actively looking up what she's been cursed with and is trying to fix it all on her own. If she had gone to any other shrine, it may have worked and she wouldn't have needed Araragi's help. Granted, Senjougahara did something similar, but Nadeko is the only one who really figured out what was happening and was trying to fix it the right way. Her fixation on tasks can be a negative as well, as we saw in Medusa, where she became to engrossed in a revenge fantasy that it led her to more trouble. I think her inner drive and immaturity play a nice balance here, where she is unwilling to give up, even when things need to stop.

Finally, she does have pride in herself, and passions that she wants to accomplish in the future. She gave up godhood because she was reminded of her manga, and was embarassed that someone saw her works in progress. I think her personality is such that she will be able to stick with that and become successful one day, as she grows and becomes more confident.

Snake Nadeko is her, but freed from all her bounds that is why I like her.

She's a fucking psychopath, there's nothing to like.

But I like those kinds of characters especially.

Nadeko in her Medusa form is essentially a Nadeko free from all social pressures and obligations that she feels bound by in day-to-da life. Remember, she's the class president even though she never wanted to be, and there's more responsibility that comes with that than she likes. She feels incredibly pressured to accomplish things, no doubt why she is so secretive about her manga. Additionally, it explains why she became so infatuated with Araragi. She explained her own thought process on the issue, which is actually really insightful, I find myself doing the same thing. Basically, focusing on one person to fall in love with simplifies your love life, because you never have to worry about finding love from anywhere else. You just focus on one person, and if you can't have them, then you just remind yourself there's someone you love even if you can't be with them. I'm not sure if many people understand that concept, but it's actually very interesting.

She has nice feet.

She's thirsty as fuck

All that deep reflection and you get turned on by some feet.

No really please for us and yourself choose your love interests with more criteria than their feet.

I hope that when Nademonogatari gets translated it will help to tone down some of the memetic Nadeko hate.

Nah mate her appeal is that she's a little slut.

definitely in the top 3 monogatari characters

Koyomi-onii-chan: The Post

It's not deep, it's been at the core of the entire series since the beginning. Oddities are rooted in that character's delusions/traumas/whatever. Pretty much every character is two-faced too, Kaiki was not actually bringing anything new to the table here.

I get the hate somewhat, her big arc was resolved without her as a character actually being resolved and just the conflict end of it dealt with and then shoved to the side and then she disappears until a brief scene in Ougi Dark. Her entire character is handled weirdly.

>That's entirely not true
No, that is the entire crux of her character. She always took the path of non-action and all that, Nisio, as he always does whenever a Specialist is involved for some reason, fucking beats you over the head with this for ages in Hitagi End.

Nothing wrong with it either, it's an interesting character archtype.

>her big arc was resolved without her as a character actually being resolved
She was resolved.

That said, I have a feeling I've had this argument with you before and it led nowhere, so I'm bowing out.

Oh yeah? Why don't you prove it?

I don't remember having this "argument" with anyone, it's something most people here seem to agree on as far as I can tell. She was as resolved a character at the end of Hitagi End as Kanbaru was at the end of Suruga Monkey except Nadeko was handled worse as a character all in all.

Choosing not to take an action is still technically taking an action. She works by choosing to try and keep a low profile, keeping her head down, and keeping to herself. It's why the snake issue was so hard for her, because she was cursed twice, not knowing who cursed her or why (though, she had an idea, it wasn't ever really confirmed). If she was just a typical girl, she could live a life where she really does nothing and just lets things happen to her. Boy asks her out, she agrees. Wants to draw manga, covers her room in it. Doesn't want to be class president, tells to teacher no. Instead, Nadeko chooses distinct paths that allow her life to continue on in the way she considers "normal" or always unchanging. She hides her manga from her parents on purpose, to prevent them from seeing her as something other than a child. She rejects boys because she doesn't want to deal with falling in love or out of love. She chooses to agree to be class president because saying no would cause more trouble for everyone (teacher has to hold a vote, people wonder why she won't do it).

This idea is best summed up in how she dealt with the teacher trying to get her to figure out why everyone in class is being so strange. Of course, she knew why, so why not tell the teacher? Why not tell him about the charms and how people were feeling hurt and insecure? Because telling him would change the nature of the classroom and what she felt was normal. Of course in the medusa story, this all changed.

There's enough proof in the show.

so do you guys all ignore the fact that she wanted to kill everyone

Except she's the exact opposite of a slut. She's convinced herself she's in love with Araragi (which is later cemented by his actions in Nadeko Snake) and so will do anything for him. She's turned down at least two other boys because of her love for him. While she may act slutty around him, it's only because it's him that she's acting like that.

And in reality, she has no practical experience with love, so she's likely just recreating shit she's seen or read. It's kind of her attempting to recreate various scenes in her mind, and Araragi is either ignoring those signs because it's inappropriate for him to act and he knows it, or he's just an idiot and can't see it. Personally, I think it's a little of both, but maybe you think differently.

Either way, she's a young girl who has very strong feelings for a guy. While she might act or dress slutty (and really, it was only that one time, it's not like she's always doing it) it's not because she's actually a slut.

monogatari girls in a nutshell

That's not enough. I need more. Why don't you show me just how much of a little slut Nadeko is?

Her head looks so pattable here.

I don't ignore it this is why I also love her!

well she has no real reason for wanting to kill everyone

which other girls actively wanted to kill someone

It's just not right to go around wanting to kill people without reason.

Literally the only reason any fucking moron on this shit site likes her is because she's underage

...

What?

It was the idiot person in her school that ruined the whole episode, nadeko is very cute

I want her to be happily apart of ragi's harem and have him sexually harrass her also

yes, now she's becoming a better person

I want her to sit on my lap and I'll giver her head pats

Imagine patting her little medusa head and having all the snakes curl around your fingers and holding your hand to her head and she won't let you stop until she's had enough.

I-I didn't know headpats could be this lewd.

hanakana

Anyone have a webm of her on ragi's lap?

I fail to see how Nadeko was handled poorly. She's less likeable but than Suruga in her presentation, but her issues are written in a realistic way and all her problems get addressed with the implication that she's going to work on tackling them in the future.

People rarely complain that Nadeko is actually poorly written. They just get triggered because they think she's a bitch.

I appreciate her as a character who's as well written as any other in the series, but she's actually a psychopathic terrible human being, so I shitpost about hating her.

>she's actually a psychopathic terrible human being

I don't really see this. If you're talking about how she was acting in her Medusa arc, that's more of a special case than the general rule with Nadeko. Really, she tends to bottle up her feelings and desires and acts passively, which would probably lead you to believe she's a timid little girl if you actually met her. On the inside she might be a little crazy, though considering her view on her life I don't think she's crazy at all. She goes out of her way to make things easy for people, and doesn't like to bother others into solving her problems for her. Since she cares so much about not bother others, it's hard to say she's a terrible person or a psychopath.

Yes, in Medusa she does snap, but she eventually goes back to normal after weighing out her options when confronted by Kaiki. If anything, I think it's impressive that she was able to come back from that situation, a weaker person might give up on normal life completely, but Nadeko knew that this path wasn't really what she wanted.

It's rare to see someone who actually gets what Nadeko's character is about, since people get so hung up on her manipulative traits (while missing the fact that the manipulation is largely subconscious).

You're pretty okay, user.
