Industrial Society and its Future

Why is this portion on leftists the only thing I see ever posted from "Unabomber" Ted Kaczynski's "Industrial Society and its Future" otherwise known as "The Unabomber Manifesto?"
How many of you have actually read this whole thing? It's the most accurate description of our paradigm that I have ever found. It accepts its own faults or generalizations and provides reasons, but without bogging down the ideas with constant apologies.
I have never seen a single poster here go in depth with anything from this masterpiece beyond its initial description of leftists. Why is that? Even pic related mentions the next chapter, "Oversocialization," but nobody ever goes on to post that section. Why?
This man was clearly shocked into hyper-awareness by the suffering he endured at the hands of the CIA, and somehow, intentionally or not, enacted the ultimate revenge by publishing an ideological super-weapon against the people who made him suffer, and the paradigm that they represented: a dehumanizing mind-machine that seeks to infect as many of us as possible, as early as possible, to take away from us, as Frank Herbert put it; "The right to participate in history."
This whole board is a testament to the nature of how our power structure accomplishes this incredible feat of robbing us of human dignity. Reddit, too. Of course it is also, as most of you know, described near the end of "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty."
Every supposed "political movement" in the heavily policed "civilized" societies are highly-controlled burns. They are the equivalent of chew toys for people who aren't entertained enough by alcohol, cocaine, weed, cartoons, video games, movies, music, dancing, or whatever else.
If anybody on Sup Forums were serious about forcing a paradigm shift away from the Pyramid Power Structure then there would be way more dialogue about "Industrial Society and its Future."

I am going to attempt to post my favorite bits from this piece as I re-read it. I will be saving my progress as I go along, so if I'm bumped off I will just re-make the thread, re-post the portions I've already completed, and then continue where I left off.

Oversocialization
24. Psychologists use the term "socialization to designate the process by which children are trained to think and act as society demands. A person is said to be well socialized if he believes in and obeys the moral code of his society and fits in well as a functioning part of that society. It may seem senseless to say that many leftists are oversocialized, since the leftist is perceived as a rebel. Nevertheless, the position can be defended. Many leftists are not such rebels as they seem.

25. The moral code of our society is so demanding that no one can think, feel and act in a completely moral way. For example, we are not supposed to hate anyone, yet almost everyone hates somebody at some time or other, whether he admits it to himself or not. Some people are so highly socialized that the attempt to think, feel and act morally imposes a severe burden on them. In order to avoid feelings of guilt, they continually have to deceive themselves about their own notices and find moral explanations for feelings and actions that in reality have a non-moral origin. We use the term "oversocialized" to describe such people.

26. Oversocialization can lead to low self-esteem, a sense of powerlessness, defeatism, guilt, etc. One of the most important means by which our society socializes children is by making them feel ashamed of behavior or speech that is contrary to society's expectations. If this is overdone, or if a particular child is especially susceptible to such feelings, he ends by feeling ashamed of HIMSELF. Moreover the thought and behavior of the over-socialized person are more restricted by society's expectations than are those of the lightly socialized person. The majority of people engage in a significant amount of naughty behavior. They lie. They commit petty thefts, they break traffic laws, they goof off at work, they hate someone, they say spiteful things or they use some underhanded rick to get ahead of the other guy. The oversocialized person cannot do these things, or if he does do them he generates in himself a sense of shame and self-hatred. The oversocialized person cannot even experience, without guilt, thoughts or feelings that are contrary to the accepted morality; he cannot think "unclean" thoughts. And socialization is not just a matter of morality; we are socialized to conform to many norms of behavior that do not fall under the heading of morality. Thus the oversocialized person is kept on a psychological leash and spends his life running on rails that society has laid down for him. In many oversocialized people this results in a sense of constraint and powerlessness that can be a severe hardship. We suggest that oversocialization is among the more serious cruelties that human beings inflict on one another.

His analysis was spot on before it became as obvious as it is now.

Addendum to 2nd post: I'm just going to post the whole fucking thing starting with 24. and let you pick your own favorites. Please save the posted parts for yourselves. I hope to keep this thread up as constantly as I am able until others are willing to aid me in doing so.
If stupid bullshit such as cuck porn, epic pepe and wojac memes, amerimutt threads, endless circular debates on skin color, religion, or whatever else is seen fit by the mods to survive here then I see no reason why The Unabomber Manifesto should not pass the eye of every person who comes here. Fuck anybody who thinks otherwise. I will be relentless and never stop doing this. This is how much I believe in this work and how much exposure to it will aid visitors in dissecting the problems that they face in their lives that are caused by Industrial Society.

Transhumanism > primitivism

27. We argue that a very important and influential segment of the modern left is oversocialized and that their oversocialization is of great importance in determining the direction of modern leftism. Leftists of the oversocialized type tend to be intellectuals or members of the upper middle class. Notice that university intellectuals constitute the most highly socialized segment of our society and also the most left-wing segment.

I'm not concerned with the level of "obviousness." My point is that given the low quality of most of this board's content, there is no reason why a deliberate effort should not be made to make this manifesto immediately accessible to the people who come here.

I think you're mistaking what I meant. It's just impressive that he was correct before it became so commonplace to understand what he already knew. It SHOULD be more available.

28. The leftist of the oversocialized type tries to get off his psychological leash and assert his autonomy by rebelling. But usually he is not strong enough to rebel against the most basic values of society. Generally speaking, the goals of today's leftists are NOT in conflict with the accepted morality. On the contrary, the left takes an accepted moral principle, adopts it as its own, and then accuses mainstream society of violating that principle. Examples: racial equality, equality of the sexes, helping poor people, peace as opposed to war, nonviolence generally, freedom of expression, kindness to animals. More fundamentally, the duty of the individual to serve society and the duty of society to take care of the individual. All these have been deeply rooted values of our society (or at least of its middle and upper classes) for a long time. These values are explicitly or implicitly expressed or presupposed in most of the material presented to us by the mainstream communications media and the educational system. Leftists, especially those of the oversocialized type, usually do not rebel against these principles but justify their hostility to society by claiming (with some degree of truth) that society is not living up to these principles.

No denying the man was incredibly brilliant, beyond description. But unfortunately his brain was all fucked up from the government.

Interesting how accurate the OP pic is today.

I see, and I completely agree. I had always seen bits and pieces of it posted, including that mentioned in OP, but when I actually read the whole thing for myself I became enraged that such a small portion was being presented and discussed on the net. I have been here a long time, I am starting to feel nauseous from the sight of so many fucking shitposts and I know that the people doing this want people like me to just stop coming here. They can go to hell. Seriously, I hope a fucking supervirus kills them and their families, even if mine dies in the process, and in the meantime I will just do this because I'm sick of all the bullshit.

I don't think socialization is a problem, it's the hostility that you encounter when you don't share the same brainwashing. Even tiny things put the normies in a bad mood.

I'm about halfway through. His diagnosis of leftist psychology is spot-on, speaking as a former leftist. As for his advocacy for primitivism, I have yet to encounter any persuasive arguments.

> Why is this portion on leftists the only thing I see ever posted from "Unabomber" Ted Kaczynski's "Industrial Society and its Future" otherwise known as "The Unabomber Manifesto?"

because the people that both read it and understand it realize that all social media is a disease and avoid it like the plague
social media cannot be used without succumbing to all have the leftish disease

29. Here is an illustration of the way in which the oversocialized leftist shows his real attachment to the conventional attitudes of our society while pretending to be in rebellion against it. Many leftists push for affirmative action, for moving black people into high-prestige jobs, for improved education in black schools and more money for such schools; the way of life of the black "underclass" they regard as a social disgrace. They want to integrate the black man in to the system, make him a business executive, a lawyer, a scientist just like the upper middle-class white people. The leftists will reply that the last thing they want is to make the black man into a copy of the white man; instead, they want to preserve African-American culture. But in what does this preservation of African-American culture consists? It can hardly consist in anything more than eating black-style food, listening to black-style music, wearing black-style clothing and going to a black-style church or mosque. In other words, it can express itself only in superficial matters. In all ESSENTIAL respects most leftists of the oversocialized type want to make the black man conform to the white middle-class ideals. They want to make him study technical subjects, become an executive or scientist, spend his life climbing the status ladder to prove that black people are as good as white. They want to make black fathers "responsible," they want black gangs to become nonviolent, etc. But these are exactly the values of the industrial-technological system. The system couldn't care less what kind of music a man listens to, what kind of clothes he wears or what religion he believes in as long as he studies in school, holds a respectable job, climbs the status ladder, is a "responsible" parent, is nonviolent and so forth. In effect, however much he may deny it, the oversocialized leftist wants to integrate the black man into the system and make him adopt its values.

> muh mkultra

of course it was the gubmint, not at all that he saw this degenerate hellscape coming

30. We certainly do not claim that leftists, even of the oversocialized type, NEVER rebel against the fundamental values of our society. Clearly they sometimes do. Some oversocialized leftists have gone so far as to rebel against one of modern society’s most important principles by engaging in physical violence. By their own account, violence is for them a form of “liberation.” In other words, by committing violence they break through the psychological restraints that have been trained into them. Because they are oversocialized these restraints have been more confining for them than for others; hence their need to break free of them. But they usually justify their rebellion in terms of mainstream values. If they engage in violence they claim to be fighting against racism or the like.

>read Ellul next
Looks interesting. Thank-you, I will.

31. We realize that many objections could be raised to the foregoing thumbnail sketch of leftist psychology. The real situation is complex, and anything like a complete description of it would take several volumes even if the necessary data were available. We claim only to have indicated very roughly the two most important tendencies in the psychology of modern leftism.

because you cant post the whole goddam essay at once

its a life changing essay, uncle ted was right

>we didnt listen

Read it ages ago and became a green party faggot because of the anarcho-primitivist views presented.
After reading "Ride the Tiger" by Evola, I've come to most of these problems can be solved by fascism.
Dunno, my 2 cents.

nigga never post that book again, shit scares me

Consider Pentti Linkola:

"What to do, when a ship carrying a hundred passengers suddenly capsizes and only one lifeboat? When the lifeboat is full, those who hate life will try to load it with more people and sink the lot. Those who love and respect life will take the ship’s axe and sever the extra hands that cling to the sides of the boat."

32. The problems of the leftist are indicative of the problems of our society as a whole. Low self-esteem, depressive tendencies and defeatism are not restricted to the left. Though they are especially noticeable in the left, they are widespread in our society. And today’s society tries to socialize us to a greater extent than any previous society. We are even told by experts how to eat, how to exercise, how to make love, how to raise our kids and so forth.

That's fucking beautiful user, thank you!

To follow up from what I've read so far, he seems similar to Chomsky. I like Chomsky so I'll probably like this.

I'm so fucking tired. I'm going to sleep. HAARP has clearly focused its vibrations on me to force me to temporarily desist from my endeavor. God bless you all. I will continue at the next available opportunity.

>It's the most accurate description of our paradigm that I have ever found.

Nonsense, you are free to become homeless and live a life of adventure as much you like, but somehow you don't. Ergo: your belief in this crap is of narcissistic nature only, and not conviction.

>human dignity

any back to nature movement essentially describes a movement into poverty. If you belief this to be dignity, you're deluded like an arkie.

> Pyramid Power Structure

your disbelief in power structures shows a general lack of accomplishment.

> Back to nature = Poverty

Oh yeah, big cities are dripping with wealth.

are you somehow stupid or are you seriously deluded enough to paint a picture of mud huts being somehow a better accommodation than any real building?

Anyone who’s read Kaczynski should read Dune. We don’t need to ban all technology, just computers.

Wow he went full Schwarswald. See the world as it is not how we would like it to be.

My life is like a night terror. I am conscious of my situation but unable to break free. I feel I may be socialized :(

> my comfy house

do you honestly think comfort and money is man's highest aspiration?

ZHoly shit , does /ourguy not TOTALLY nail the average antifaggot or what? PERFECT profile of Eric Clanto... PERFECT profile of 90% of antifags..
I think I read the manifesto, but I must admit I never REALLY read it and thought about it. It's actually perfection.
We must adopt.

>Boohoo, I don't need materialism. I am better.

how old are you? Of course it is: it's called nesting and you do it for your family. Your comfort and money is the very reason you and pretty much everyone you know hasn't died at the tender age of 4 like it used to happen to 50000% of the population just 100 years ago in most parts of the western world, mr. idealist.
Is children dying is your great aspiration, asshole.

> Nature = Mudhuts

>Life is a choice between mudhuts and Zuckerberg's cyber cuck cage
This is what is called a false dilemma.

both are examples of civilisation. Agriculture btw. only got efficient enough in the 1950s to support the amount of people we have. I'm sure (petro) chemical plants aren't part of your idea of nature, are they?

he literally said "cities". Does facebook now own the concept of city?

and btw. if you go by old teddie, it very much is, because he wanted us all to go stone age.

Have a better meme

Like most radical theory, it's easy to complain about and diagnose the system. He doesn't give a nearly satisfying solution. He explains why the system is almost all powerful and then says what, do terrorism? And that technology can be gotten rid of? That's ridiculous, technology can never be un-invented.

>On the contrary, the left takes an accepted moral principle, adopts it as its own, and then accuses mainstream society of violating that principle
Fucking checked.

> b-b-but think of the children
> muh norman borlaug billion lives

there are more than 6 billion useless and crippled """people""" alive today because of your knee-jerk spook sentimental life fetishism

my children and I have to live in an increasingly barren and toxic soup because of your judeo-christian bullshit and """humanitarianism"""

go fuck yourself

"look at me giving food to people with low-investment r-selection reproduction strategies, I'm so noble for allowing them to continue to breed like rabbits"

you're deluded if you think cripples aren't warming your ass. Thank's to the magic of capitalism everyone who has ever earned a penny with his labor did in one way or another. And while we're at it, I much prefer the invalid over any mental gimp who wants to rob the whole of humanity of its most essential paradigm: to change its surroundings into a less hospitable place by means of his creativity, which btw. is very biblical: a rebellion against the expulsion from paradise.
