Christianity General: Everyone Is Welcome, Edition!

Often in these threads, anons post concerns about whether or not they're "Good Enough" to be a Christian, they see the opportunity to have a meaningful relationship with God almighty, they see the comfy church life and fellowship, and they think to themselves:

"I'm not worthy of that, I'm just a/an ____________. They wouldnt like me, I do/ did____________!"

Well dont worry my friends, none of us are perfect. We all have our demons yet god loves us anyway. Consider this passage:

"As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him. While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the (((Pharisees))) saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’[a] For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” -Matthew Chapter 9

We dont claim to be perfect, we're just normal people and I want to make this claim to everyone out there; if you're interested in learning about God, or the church at all, feel free to stop by. I've been through churches of many denominations yet they all have something in common. There are ALWAYS welcoming people there who will be happy to show you around, talk with you, and usually offer you some literature about the church/denomination.

You're welcome anytime.

This is something which is great about the Christian faith, we dont claim to be perfect. One of the prayers offered every week at my church begins

"I believe, O Lord, and I confess that Thou art truly the Christ the son of the living God who camest into the world to save sinners, of whom I am first. Therefore I pray thee, have mercy upon me and forgive my transgressions..."

Here my fellow Anons, have some nice (very traditional) music to enjoy:

youtube.com/watch?v=9SNIuHcg_zA&index=1&list=PLEfGEO6EGurB8bDrUZTWoeCdUkPuzBt6A

ITT all anons are welcome, Church members, inquirers, and anyone with an interest in the faith.

Here we discuss all aspects of our faith, share scriptures and media that we enjoy.

All denominations (or lack thereof) are welcome here! I'm an Orthodox user personally, but I respect all pious Christians.

Whats on your mind tonight, my brothers in Christ?

Here you'll find a nice KJV (the international standard) Bible! This is "hardmode" studying simply because this book was assembled around the 1600s IIRC, so its a little like reading Shakespeare, but totally manageable if you're willing to make an effort. Its about $21 on Amazon with free one-day shipping depending on where you life:

amazon.com/Holy-Bible-Standard-Thumb-Burgundy/dp/1432102400/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1510892497&sr=8-1&keywords=kjv bible

Here is another option, its a NIV bible written in modern english. Much easier to read and slightly more affordable:

amazon.com/NIV-Pew-Bible-Hardcover-Black/dp/0310411009/ref=sr_1_7?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1510892705&sr=1-7&keywords=niv bible

As a friendly reminder, this is the #1 banned book in all of the world, a classic example of something ((((((they)))))) would perfer you didnt have!

Here are a couple of books on Orthodoxy for your consideration! I truly recommend them both for anyone with an interest in the faith, as they each discuss the concept of God, what we know about him, how we works on this earth, and how to start the journey of knowing him:

WORSHIP THE RABBI GOD!

ANOTHER KIKE

This seems to be the appropriate place to talk about this, but a mudslime tried to Taqiyya me and my discipleship friends while we were having some fun playing board games. He said "I do not know where it is in the Bible where Jesus said he was the son of God". People pointed to I believe John 4:25. What would some other good verses be in case he tries it with others?

Hes the king of the Judeans, sent to show the people who would later form the religion of Judaism the truth about God and the world.

These people rejected him and later formed the Talmud and began what we think of as Judaism.

If you think Jesus is, in our terms, a Jew, why would the Jews of old slaughter literally thousands of infants across an entire region of the world, in order to kill one of ((((((their)))))) own?

Do you know what is interesting? In my younger years, I was a very avid atheist myself. I remember all the one-liners and all of 2009 or so, and I see many of them still around today.

As a friendly reminder, even as you've turned your back on God, which is your choice, he has given us all free will, that you're always welcome back if you choose. We're all in this fallen world together with out earthly problems, I'll pray for you and all everyone else here too, user.

He refers to Himself as God in Matthew 4

>This is something which is great about the Christian faith, we dont claim to be perfect

But God ordains us to be perfect.

PRAISE JESUS

Jesus rarely mentioned his "power level" through his own words, the guy was so nice he preferred to use actions which helped and healed others, which were only possible with the power of god - miracles - to show his authority, rather than boasting of how great he was and ordering people to fall down at his feet.

This was great for Humanity, but not so great for your discussion.

Perhaps you could use these miracles as an example. Or anything which shows the Christian way of overcoming evil with good, which stands in contrast to the muslim way of conquering anyone who disagrees with you through coercion/trickery, rape, forced conversions and beheadings

You can tell him that the Bible isn't like the Coran, and it represents just a part of Christian belief

This is a friendly Orthodox user responding to obvious bait for the sake of those here lurking. The bible talks about false prophets and teaching, and anyone who would cause those who follow Christ to stumble in their/our faith on many occasions.

Friendly reminder, that God WILL have the last word of anything that happens on earth, and MANY people are going to get absolutely rekt for all of eternity when this occurs. No matter what you see in society, always remember this, my friends.

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

-2 Corinthians 11:13-15

I found this that has a link to bible verses. I think the "The only way to the father is through me" is also a good one.
I also had no intent of going full deus vult on him since I felt no need to become overzealous over him even if he was a heretic.
>This was great for Humanity, but not so great for your discussion.
He had tried to talk politics before and he had no arguments beyond personal anecdote so I don't think anyone was listening to him too seriously. He talked about the wage gap and once I brought up Thomas Sowell and his argument he had no response other than to appear interested.

Yes, we should all strive for perfection and a sin free life, but Jesus is the only man in history who never sinned, the rest of us all fall short from time to time unfortunately. But we're doing the best we can, to live as wholesome of a Christian life as possible.

Remember, sin is to the soul what Death is to the Body. The wages of sin, are death. No bad tree can bear good fruit.

>And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light
I'm curious, do you believe Satan sees himself as well meaning in his arrogance or that he coldly accepts himself as evil?

Thats a good question. I think he likely thinks he is justified in what he does. Consider yourself in the state of being as arrogant and self-inflated as possible, wouldn't you think the same?

I think hes still bootyblasted about his failed uprising, but my knowledge of such things is still a little limited unfortunately - I'm only a layman afterall. Its a fascinating question to ponder, however

More like, there never been more churches, while Christian Democrats didn't even exist in Socialism. Pro-refugee faggots are all Christian.

>The Jews thought (and think) that they are God's chosen people, but when Jesus came and said: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus", the Jews claimed He couldn't be their Messiah, so they convinced Pontio to crucify Him. Is exactly because Jesus was for all humanity and not only for the Jews that (((they))) killed Him, and since that moment, every nation in the entire globe see Jews as a negative influence to any country they appear in. And with good reason, every Catholic / Christian nation up until Vatican II and some decades before, had prohibition or persecution of Jews.

You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.

For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.

When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. (Leviticus 19:33-34)

He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing. And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt. (Deuteronomy 10:18-19)

When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. (Leviticus 19:9-10)

Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt. (Exodus 23:9)

Greater Israel occasionally refers to the Promised Land (defined in Genesis 15:18-21) or to the Land of Israel, also called Complete Land of Israel or Entire Land of Israel (Hebrew: ארץ ישראל השלמה, Eretz Yisrael Hashlemah). This is a more accurate translation than “Greater Israel”, which is used in English but has no real counterpart in Hebrew.

"No one in Israel should ever be poor. The Lord your God is giving you this land, and he has promised to make you very successful, if you obey his laws and teachings that I’m giving you today."

"You will lend money to many nations, but you won’t have to borrow. You will rule many nations, but they won’t rule you."

The bible is quite pro jew. (((Yahweh))) promises the jews GREATER ISRAEL FFS

Turn the other cheek is mistranslated/misinterpreted meme: This is not true whatsoever. There are MANY (too many to list) verses in the Bible that are anti-European and anti-Aryan.
>When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. (Leviticus 19:33-34)
>Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt. (Exodus 23:9)
>There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28)

Christianity was made by brown people, for brown people. The only people who believe that Jesus was in anyway European are fringe religious nuts, all historians know that there were no Europeans any where near where Jesus was supposedly born or when the bible was written (by brown people)

You can't call yourself a white nationalist if you want to throw away your pagan heritage in favour of a middle eastern religion made by brown people
Also there is no proof Jesus even existed, so why gives those Christian scum the benefit of the doubt?
There's a reason why Jews consider Pagan symbols to be hate symbols, and all white nationalist groups glorify pagan symbols.
In the Jew dominated media, such as in movies, Christians are always portrayed as the ideal, normal, good, American goys.
I know Christcucks are too stupid to read between the lines that Hitler was obviously a Pagan, but to deny that he was heavily fascinated with Paganism and Pagan symbols and had a great respect for it, would be absurd
If you really want to rebel against the kikes, and make a true stand for Europe, then worship the Gods of your ancestors

Also:

Reminder that REAL Christians do not believe in evolution, dinosaurs or that the earth is older than 6 thousand years old. Also, 2 of each of every species of animal that exists today was somehow put on a boat and repopulated the Earth with all the animals we see today. If you don't believe this you aren't a real Christian and you need to stop calling yourself one. Thanks
>b-b-b-b-but muh cherry picking
Yeah, you're a fucking joke

What are "traditional Christian" family values?

Like goat fucker Abraham trying to kill his own son? Or Jesus encouraging European women to become degenerate nuns and stop making white babies?

Christianity is a Jewish sect which is now the forerunner of multiculturalism and race mixing.

Pro-White Pagan family values
Multi racial Christian v̶a̶l̶u̶e̶s̶ faggy morals

PICK ONE.

What exactly are "Traditional Christian family values?" Varg explains:

youtube.com/watch?v=VjEqoltgSQE&feature=youtu.be

...

I know this is trolling, but it shows your extreme lack of comprehension in regards to the things you're trolling against. I'll do my best to explain:

>Jesus is born to the Judean tribe
>They are "Gods Chosen People" in that they are the group God the Father has chosen to bear the human form of Jesus to
>Judeans say "this guy is nice and telling us to treat eachother well, love ourselves as god loves us, and is going around healing people!! Can you believe that?!? Oy Vey, we were expecting a conquerer! This man cant be the son of God, he's too friendly!! Better crucify him!"

Therefore in Luke, just as an example, Jesus is teaching in the synagogues about God's new Testament with mankind. Not whatever your concept of "Jewish Stuff" is. Hopefully I can find the infographic which explains this better than I might be able to.

>Consider yourself in the state of being as arrogant and self-inflated as possible, wouldn't you think the same?
I've been watching Jordan Peterson's biblical lecture series and I agree. I really do think a pride, especially one that stems from intellect, is truly the greatest sin simply because it seems to be the only one that can convince itself wholly it can be sufficient for everything. I've seen no man in the grasp of lust to believe that lust can make himself whole, nor have I seen that with greed. But pride can cause one to eternally shun God. A drunkard can give himself to the one true God with little fear or hesitation, but a man who is drunk on his own intellect will always be afraid of such a thing.

Hey, do you guys follow the trolling in these threads at all?

I have nothing against those here who come to share the "light" of Atheism, I understand them, I used to be one myself. They're just people looking for something deeper in life, like the rest of us, deep down I believe.

But the interesting part is the shilling. I've been in these /cg/ threads for more than a year now (I think) and back then, it was CONSTANT atheism shilling. This flopped as it inevitably would when everyone here, Christian and non, looked at it as degenerate and one of the destroying factors in (((((modern))))) civilization. So, next they started shilling Paganism HARDCORE in all our /cg/ threads which went on until about 3-4 weeks ago IIRC then all at the same time they dropped that and I dont think I've seen a single Pagan post in the last 3+ /cg/ threads, after them trying to reck every thread with the aforementioned for months beforehand.

It just stopped one day.

Now, just like in the last couple threads, there has been a massive dump of posting here about how our Savior is to them a jew because reasons, and to them isnt God because "X", etc. All these similar posts from multiple posters all within minutes.

Surely thats just a ((((((((((((coincidence))))))))))))

I will say to those Shilling here that God still loves you, even as you've turned your back on him.

I feel as if a lot of people dislike Christianity because they lack understanding of it. Please consider the following in regards to your verses, which I believe you have taken out of their respective context.

These verses regard visitors, and hospitality is a Christian virtue. We are to love them as ourselves and treat them well, consider the passage about the Good Samaritan. Note that there is absolutely no reason to believe that visitor = "refugee" as we would think of it. God granted us the ability to create societies with governments to further our interests and protect ourselves from evil, including building nations. The book of Revelation talks about people being taken from all the nations, indicating that there are nations, their existence is Gods will, and there will always be nations in existence. Anything else is against what the bible says.

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28)

This, my friend regards the spiritual realm. Last time I checked, women exist here on earth.

I hope this will help you. I struggled with some of these verses myself.

I follow it, but I never respond to it. Paganism was self-defeating anyways because it had no coherent ideology to follow, was entirely focused in comparing it to Christianity and did nothing but weakly imply that it was better in comparison, and lastly the people who promoted it were either larpers or absolutely insane like Varg.
You are definitely right that it does seem to have stopped for now. I think the one autist, who used to use an ancap flag, got tired of spamming his pasta

To ascend to Heaven what do I need to do?
Is it only believe in Jesus as the Son of God or is there more?

Yeah... I remember living as an Atheist. I came from a broken home and a less than ideal social/personal life, so I guess that was kind of how I lashed out at the world and pushed back against one of the main pillars of the world as I knew it (Small town in the Midwest).

The ironic part is that at the time I turned towards leftism as a break from the traditional society I lived in, and it went full circle when I started to hate the god-slandering, godless people I saw in the media and eventually progressivism and the need to be (((different))) was the same thing that pushed me away from the Atheism it originally turned me towards.

It was quite the ride, I'm glad to be back. I've done almost everything I can to get right with the Lord, I have a loving new Church family and I'm happier and calmer than I've ever been before.

For anyone reading this, if you, like me, would try to fill the whole inside you with material things, expensive things, "nice", things, alcohol, food, whatever, we all know deep down this doesnt always work and rarely/never lasts. Having a relationship with God (which the books I posted near the top of the thread can help you find and understand) and a wholesome Christian life will fill this hole entirely.

Anyone else want to share their stories?

This is a little bit of a tricky subject unfortunately, and no mortal man has all of these answers. But I'll tell you what we do know:

1) Ultimately the decision is God's. My Priest once quoted someone who said "And if you ever make it to Heaven, expect to see some people there that you werent expecting to see, and expect not to see some that you were!"

2) One must accept based Jesus as their Lord and Savior (one passage roughly quotes to him saying "There is no way to the father, but through me"

3) One must repent of their sins, ask forgiveness from the Lord and should do EVERYTHING feasible to atone for them on earth. I went for many years without speaking to half of my family for years until I decided that I wanted to be on good terms with everyone again, and we made peace. It was great. Highly recommended. If you've stolen something, return it. If you've hurt someone, make it up to them and ask their forgiveness. These things are difficult but must be done, when our time comes, we cannot let ourselves leave behind unfinished business, so to speak.

4) We must do the best that we can, to live a wholesome Christian life. This means taking part in the ascetic disciplines, going to Church is important for education and fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ, among other things. Studying and reading is crucial as well, for the more we can learn about God, the closer we can grow towards him and the better life we will be able to live.

But ultimately, the decision rests upon God alone. For example, the Thief on the cross did almost none of these things, but when he saw that Jesus was truly the son of God, Jesus said to him [roughly quoted from memory] (Today you will be in paradise with me!).

But with that being said, a Christian life is the best life.

No one expects you to jump in head first, perhaps if you are new, you might Amazon yourself a bible (I linked to a couple near the start of this thread) and visit a local church :)

To elaborate on 3, it is often said that during the great judgment we will have to give an account for everything bad we have ever done here on Earth, so we should try to live with this in mind.

I hope that this helps you! Assuming you're new to the faith, my advice is to look through some of the aforementioned books that I linked to, and whenever youre ready (you dont have to read anything, or know anything beforehand) stop by a church that you're interested in.

I'm Orthodox personally, there are a surprising number of Orthodox churches here in the US, but thats just me.

Any Church will be happy to welcome you in, they'll likely offer you a tour (ideally arrive 15-20 mins before the start of the service, if its your first time there, but again, this is not required) and give you some literature.

Everyone is welcome here...

I'll pray for you and all others in this thread tonight. May we all find true peace and love in our Lord Jesus Christ.

...

Good News for all of you! We are at the bottom of the feet at last. God's Kingdom ruled by King Jesus Christ is up next. You guys are living in exciting times.

>(Daniel 2:44) “And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite;

>(Isaiah 28:16) therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said: “Here I am laying as a foundation in Zion a stone, a tried stone, the precious corner of a sure foundation. No one exercising faith will get panicky.

>(Daniel 2:34) You kept on looking until a stone was cut out not by hands, and it struck the image on its feet of iron and of molded clay and crushed them.

>(1 Peter 2:6) For it is contained in Scripture: “Look! I am laying in Zion a stone, chosen, a foundation cornerstone, precious; and no one exercising faith in it will by any means come to disappointment.”

>(Luke 20:17) But he looked upon them and said: “What, then, does this that is written mean, ‘The stone which the builders rejected, this has become the chief cornerstone’?

>(Acts 4:11) This is ‘the stone that was treated by YOU builders as of no account that has become the head of the corner.’

>(1 Corinthians 3:11) For no man can lay any other foundation than what is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

>(Ephesians 2:20) and YOU have been built up upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, while Christ Jesus himself is the foundation cornerstone.

Pic related. The stone that you see in Daniel destroying all the kingdom of the world starting at the bottom of the feet is the same cornerstone of God's Kingdom: Jesus Christ. Jesus himself, along with an army of angels, will come down here and execute all evil doers in the world. The West will not be conquered by another human empire. It will be conquered by Christ himself. How long until imminent empire collapse(politically, socially, economically) and another human empire can take over? Many anons here have helped me narrow this down to 20-30 years.

Do you know what happens next?

The primary theme of Jesus ministry wasn't salvation and it wasn't repentance. It was God's Kingdom.

>(Matthew 4:23) Then he went around throughout the whole of Gali·lee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news of the kingdom and curing every sort of disease and every sort of infirmity among the people.

>(Matthew 4:17) From that time on Jesus commenced preaching and saying: “Repent, YOU people, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.”

>(John 18:36) Jesus answered: “My kingdom is no part of this world. If my kingdom were part of this world, my attendants would have fought that I should not be delivered up to the Jews. But, as it is, my kingdom is not from this source.”

The model prayer

>(Matthew 6:9, 10) “YOU must pray, then, this way: “‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. 10Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth.

>(Matthew 6:33) “Keep on, then, seeking first the kingdom and his righteousness, and all these [other] things will be added to YOU.

The entire theme of Jesus is his father's Kingdom being the solution to all lives problems.

The verses all there imply that a heavenly regime will invade earth and wipe out all disobedient mankind. Pic related, the earth will be transformed into a beautiful paradise where all of you will live there and not visit there. You will all be physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually perfect. No defects of any kind. No sickness, no old age, no mental disorders, no crime, violence, fear and no death.

>(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

(Job 1:21) and say: “Naked I came out of my mother’s belly, And naked shall I return there. Jehovah himself has given, and Jehovah himself has taken away. Let the name of Jehovah continue to be blessed.”

(Psalm 49:17) For at his death he cannot take along anything at all; His glory will not go down along with him himself.

I am working on becoming Christian, going through RCIA, but I am struggling to buy into all of Catholicism. Protestantis is still real, right? It just feels more legitimate to me, even if some of the Catholic Church's claims are maybe intellectually stronger, I have always felt a strong inclination to my local baptist church, and the atmosphere there inspires something inside of me that the Catholic church never has. I don't know if this is temptation or God trying to help me find the way

you don't believe Jesus was god, though, right? I can't accept that. Thanks for the channel though, I appreciate it a lot

I'm an Orthodox Christian, but personally I believe other denominations are just as righteous, pious, and devoted to the Lord. Just place your trust in God. Through, I'm not personally the biggest fan of the Roman Catholic church either.

bump

Thanks orthobro, I admire and am interested in your church, but it really doesn't exist where I'm from, so it's not really something I'm going to explore at this place in my life. I didn't think of this passage in that context before and I really appreciate it, I think the RCIA stuff has just been scaring me a little. I'm going to go back to the baptistchurch with a lighter heart this week.

>I can't accept that.

Why? What would it mean to you if it turned out that Jesus wasn't God?

Well, can't is strong, I guess, I just don't believe it is better I guess. I am theologically not strongly committed to most things, since I am still learning, but I am convinced that Jesus was God, so I don't think I could become a JW

>I just don't believe it is better I guess.

What does this mean?

>Well, can't is strong, I guess,

What does this mean?

How do you reconcile the fantastical shit in the Bible with the fact that the "occurrence" of supernatural events decline in direct proportion to education and availability of cameras? It's why I can't believe it, but I want to hear your reasoning.

np, don't let anyone pressure you into joining one church or another. The most important thing is that you're growing deeper in your connection and faith to God. Finding a community you like is an important addition to that.

>How do you reconcile the fantastical shit in the Bible with the fact that the "occurrence" of supernatural events decline in direct proportion to education and availability of cameras?

Explain

You can't seriously believe archangel Michael and Jesus are the same person.
catholic.com/qa/is-it-true-jehovahs-witnesses-believe-that-michael-the-archangel-and-jesus-are-the-same-person

What I think and what I believe is irrelevant. It is what the Bible shows. No, there is no verse in the Bible saying "Jesus and Michael are the same person." There doesn't have to be. Most people think that Jesus/Michael being the same originated with JW. It didn't. You'd be surprised how many previous people believed that and why.

>“1b2. Another prophecy in Daniel 12:1-3 respects the second and personal coming of Christ; for he is meant by Michael, who is "as God", as his name signifies, equal to him; the ‘great prince,’ the prince of the kings of the earth, and the head of all principalities and powers.” - John Gill, A Body of Doctrinal Divinity, Book 7 Chapter 5:

>“The earlier Protestant scholars usually identified Michael with the preincarnate Christ, finding support for their view, not only in the juxtaposition of the “child” and the archangel in Rev. 12, but also in the attributes ascribed to him in Daniel” –The International Standard Bible Encyclopaedia vol. 3, p. 2048, Eerdmans Publishing, 1984 printing

>"I embrace the opinion of those who refer this to the person of Christ, because it suits the subject best to represent him as standing forward for the defense of his elect people." - John Calvin, Commentaries On The Book Of The Prophet Daniel, trans. T. Myers (Grand Rapids: Baker Book House, 1979), vol. 2 p. 369

>There seems good reason for regarding Michael as the Messiah. Such was the opinion of the best among the ancient Jews.... With this all the Bible representations of Michael agree. He appears as the Great Prince who standeth for Israel (Dan. xii. I), and he is called "the Prince of Israel" (Dan. x. 21)--William L. Alexander,ed., A CyclopediaOf Biblical Literature, originally edited by John Kitto, 3d ed. (Edinburgh: A & C Black, 1886). vol. 3, p. 158

>"An answer to Daniel's enquiry, ver. 8 - 13. For the children - The meaning seems to be, as after the death of Antiochus the Jews had some deliverance, so there will be yet a greater deliverance to the people of God, when Michael your prince, the Messiah shall appear for your salvation.A time of trouble - A the siege of Jerusalem, before the final judgment. The phrase at that time, probably includes all the time of Christ, from his first, to his last coming.... - John Wesley:

>“voice of the archangel”(1 Thess. 4:16) is apparently “the voice of the Lord Jesus Christ”! -Trinitarian Bible scholar W. E. Vine (“recognized as one of the world’s foremost [Bible] Greek scholars”) p. 64, An Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words

>“Let it be observed that the word archangel is never found in the plural number in the sacred writings. There can be properly only one archangel, one chief or head of all the angelic host. Nor is the word devil, as applied to the great enemy of mankind, ever found in the plural; there can be but one monarch of all fallen spirits. Michael is this archangel, and head of all the angelic orders; the devil, great dragon, or Satan, is head of all the diabolic orders. When these two hosts are opposed to each other they are said to act under these two chiefs, as leaders; hence in Revelation12:7, it is said: MICHAEL and his angels fought against the DRAGON and his angels. The word Michael, seems to be compounded of ym mi, who, k ke, like, and la El, God; he who is like God; hence by this personage,in the Apocalypse, many understand the Lord Jesus.” - Clarke’s Commentary (Adam Clarke)

>"We take it that Michael . . . is, from the outset, Christ in warlike array against Satan." - J. P. Lange

The only reason i am an Atheist as religion (Christianity included) all rely on faith instead of evidence.

If i could get objective evidence that outright proves the bible i would be a Christian however i cannot rely on faith as a method of knowing as faith is dishonest and apologetics is a mix of claims that are either disproven or unprovable.

So if the evidence someday came that Christianity could be based on hard evidence not needing any form of faith to accept it then i would 100 percent be a Christian (or the religion based on the evidence) but till then i cannot make myself believe something and i cannot believe till the evidence shows something.

Well, even compared to when I was a kid, the reporting of supernatural things has decreased severely. But even for my generation it was far less than the preceding, and when comparing it to primitive and/or technologically unadvanced and/or uneducated societies. They say supernatural things happen all the time. Educated and technologically advanced people never or almost never see it and they never catch it on camera.

Why did magic start to disappear as people began to understand natural phenomena better, and then when cameras proliferated they all but vanished?

He left us a lot of evidence of his existence. First, his creations. That alone, proves the necessity for a creator and controlling force of intelligence. Second, God interacted with his representatives on Earth who in turn interacted with the rest of the world. Archeology and history teach of empires, ancient Kings, politicians, and people who interacted with the Jews or individual Jews. A good example is Pontius Pilate talking to Jesus. Archeology backs up Pilate's existence and ancient scholars back up his existence through history.

Finally, the Bible interacted with God, men, empires, politics and recorded it all. The Bible has many indications of it being inspired by God. Pic related

That's not really true, there's tons of documented accounts of supernatural and explainable events occurring.
>pic related is a dove landing out of nowhere on the staff of Jerusalem's Patriarch Theophilus during the service of Consecration of the water at river Jordan

Would I be punished by God for wanting to kill the jews (every single one) in far crueler ways than the Nazi's could have dreamed?

That's not even mildly convincing evidence, none of those writers you have cited stand out to me as someone I can trust. Its all complete misinterpretation.

I always like to assert to Jews that God brought the holocaust down on them for being unbelievers. They either have to admit it didn't happen or that God has now power to protect his """"chosen people""""

>Why did magic start to disappear as people began to understand natural phenomena better, and then when cameras proliferated they all but vanished?

"Magic" is a word used to describe something that is not understood or cannot be rationalized but it is undeniable. Supernatural is subjective. Cryptozoology is considered supernatural.

A lot of "magical" things have rational explanations today. In fact, we speak of gods/demons all the time in a secular educated world. Today we call them aliens. God, angels, demons, and Jesus are spirits. Spirits are extra-dimensional non-corporeal beings made of pure energy. Think of Prophets, Doud, Trelane and Q from Star Trek. Beings beyond not just physical bodies but beyond our three dimensions.

Study Quantum Physics, Laws of Physics, Abiogenesis, Mathematics, Consciousness, String Theory. That explains all the "magic" and supernatural occurences in our world. Almost everything magical and supernatural has a logical explanation to it. The Bible is not a magical book, it is a logical book based on history, archeology and political powers. The supernatural stuff in there has logical explanations.

A good example of "magic" is the Snake talking to Eve. The Bible revealed in Revelations that Satan was the "original serpent" and Jesus called the Jews "Offspring of Vipers" and "You are from your father the devil." Snakes cannot talk, however, if some powerful invisible being were to "puppet" a snake it would appear to talk. What you were reading was an advanced form of puppetry same as how we have cartoons and CGI people in Star Wars now talking where non-existent things interact with humans. It is also a possibility that the snake was not even a snake at all but an illusion created by Satan.

That is how magic is explained logically.

God bless you all, anons.
Only God can save us from all the degeneracy we are forced to witness

This doesn't answer my question.

>none of those writers you have cited stand out to me as someone I can trust.

You don't have to trust them. The point is that the interpretation of Jesus as really being Michael is not inherit to Jehovah's Witnesses. We read those accounts and we were convinced it was true. Not the other way around. If you study that subject you will realize why it is true.

>First, his creations. That alone, proves the necessity for a creator and controlling force of intelligence
Even by that assumption (assuming it was truth) that does not even need to entail a Theist God none the less your God.

And for the explanation behind species and populations is evolution driven by natural selection which has been proven and continues to show more evidence as the decades move on (we are not in 1860 anymore we know the genetic record and have alot more evidence then we could have had then).
> God interacted with his representatives on Earth who in turn interacted with the rest of the world
Every religion claims they interacted with some force of God as their justification,
>history teach of empires, ancient Kings, politicians, and people who interacted with the Jews or individual Jews
People groups interacting does not prove it either. Yes some Jews did talk to other groups (like Spaniards and Indians) but that no way proves anything in their holybooks (aside from them having interaction with other kinds of people which the books state).
>Archeology backs up Pilate's existence and ancient scholars back up his existence through history.
Does not validate the truth of the claim that he talked to Jesus. Many legends are about historical people who existed and have been shown to exist and just because the people have been shown to exist does not make the legends true.

If so then George Washington actually did cut down the Cherry tree. he did have wooden teeth and he did threw a dollar across the Potomac river just because he was a real person who actually existed.
>The picture
This picture leaves out the bible verses which state the earth is a flat disk with a firmament of water above it (Jesus could not have looked at the 4 corners of the world on top of the mountain and Genesis clearly states a firmament which science has shown could not have existed).

Killing out of hate is murder and that is a sin. but if it is out of self defense, and in many cases getting rid of the jews IS self defense, then it is not a sin and you will not be punished.

>every single one

You should judge people individualy. There were many good jews in history such as: jesus Christ, bobby fischer, otto wieneger

I guess wanting to do something is different than doing it, but murder is wrong, so you have your answer. Just strive to do what is right, if that means protecting Western Civilization from International Jewry, fine, but adhere to God's word. Expelling the Jews to the Jewish Autonomous Oblast is probably the fairest and most humane thing to do.

Unfortunately yes.

>
(Romans 12:17-19) Return evil for evil to no one. Provide fine things in the sight of all men. 18If possible, as far as it depends upon YOU, be peaceable with all men. 19Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but yield place to the wrath; for it is written: “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says Jehovah.”

The right to execute Jews belongs to God alone.

Yeah, but we never see magic things happen anymore. If we did they'd be trotted out incessantly whenever fedora tippers start talking. There's over 2 billion people with internet access and most of them get it through their smart phone. That means there's 2 billion people with cameras on them at practically all times, yet we've yet to see a credible capture of anything "magical" or supernatural. Just a bunch of shitty fakes from bored beaners and cyka blyats.

>A lot of "magical" things have rational explanations today
Which shows the fault of the concept of magic. Why resort to magic when it has a completely natural and much superior explanation even if you do not discover it in your lifetime?
>Today we call them aliens. God, angels, demons, and Jesus are spirits. Spirits are extra-dimensional non-corporeal beings made of pure energy
Being Conscience requires a brain, Things without a brain cannot be Conscience as that defiles all of the laws of Physics and has no explanation behind it (we cannot explain a mechanism shown by evidence which that can happen).
>What you were reading was an advanced form of puppetry same as how we have cartoons and CGI people in Star Wars now talking where non-existent things interact with humans. It is also a possibility that the snake was not even a snake at all but an illusion created by Satan.
There would have to be some form of natural explanation behind Satan turning into a snake as there is behind Star wars.

The only reason CGI even exists is because a completely natural explanation which is repeatable and shown by evidence. When it comes to the devil you cannot rationalize why the devil would appear to be a snake in rational terms or why it would be able to speak.

That's not theologically sound. The Israelites genocided lots of people. I haven't seen any Amorites recently,. have you?

The Church Fathers have studied it for ages, there's nothing there. In Revelation 12:7 it refers specifically to Michael and his angels fighting the dragon. It would have called him Jesus if it were in heaven. Revelation makes a clear distinction between the two persons.

>mfw I see a Chr*stfag

>And the Lord our God delivered him over to us; and we defeated him with his sons and all his people. So we captured all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, women and children of every city. We left no survivor.

>Yeah goy, individual judgement for thee but not for mee.

Stupid goy.

God gave them authority to do that alone. Its also OT so who really knows if they didn't just slaughter those people and claim God told them to.

Old testament no longer applies to christians ever since jesus fufilled it. Oh and everyone that the Israelites killed deserved death(according to the bible)

You seem to miss my point. That proves its a Jewish trick. It was okay for the Jews, but not for the dumb dirty goyim. How can you be this retarded?

If genesis is allegory, how can I be sure Jesus is an allegorical archetype of the perfect human

Pagans are the biggest waste of space, they can't even stand up to atheists who call them out for worshiping trees and marvel cartoons.

Israelites /= jews. You do know that many "jews" ie, samaritans, were considered gentiles right?

>And for the explanation behind species and populations is evolution driven by natural selection which has been proven and continues to show more evidence as the decades move on (we are not in 1860 anymore we know the genetic record and have alot more evidence then we could have had then).

Abiogenesis and probability prove this wrong. This is why Evolutionist quit looking for how life started on earth and now look at space as the origin of life on Earth. Every attempt of explaining life as starting and evolving by random chance is proven wrong mathematically, especially through probability.

>Every religion claims they interacted with some force of God as their justification,

Yet those beliefs are proven historically wrong. A good example is Muhammed. His life story and adventures contradict pre-Islamic Arabic archeology, world history, and simple science. Muhammed taught that an embryo begins as a blood clot and that Alexander the Great was a Muslim. The Bible makes no such contradictions.

>Does not validate the truth of the claim that he talked to Jesus.

This is accepted as historical, not fictional. The fact that Jesus interacted with Pontius Pilate, the Pharisees, and lived in the time of Tiberius Cesar's reign proves this. The Bible's background of Jesus life in the Roman Empire is very accurate to history and archeology.

>(Luke 3:1-3) In the fifteenth year of the reign of Ti·beri·us Caesar, when Pontius Pilate was governor of Ju·dea, and Herod was district ruler of Gali·lee, but Philip his brother was district ruler of the country of It·u·raea and Trach·o·nitis, and Ly·sani·as was district ruler of Ab·i·lene, 2in the days of chief priest Annas and of Caia·phas, God’s declaration came to John the son of Zech·a·riah in the wilderness. 3So he came into all the country around the Jordan, preaching baptism [in symbol] of repentance for forgiveness of sins,

That is extremely accurate.

>Jesus is an allegorical archetype
We have overwhelming evidence that Jesus existed, but I would argue that Jesus is truly the most perfect and divine human being.

>mfw a Chr*stian addresses me

>God: This genocide gets my rubber stamp
>Also God: Other genocides do not

So how do we ask God if a genocide is warranted?
