Likewise, in the manga I honestly didn't feel as hype as everyone else for KQ. I mean, it's an awesome Stand but it never clicked with me like the other villain Stands did.
The anime however made it fucking godly in my eyes. The sound effects and visuals used for the bombs, the really stylish depictions of it (e.g. Skull-face KQ and that god-tier summoning of it being shrouded in shadow) and its overall presence are brilliant. Can't wait to see it in BTD/CDIU

I used to think that DP was just doing so much focus on Killer Queen's eyes as a stylistic choice to just look cool, especially because Killer Queen was not really that expressive in the manga.
But then I thought back to when the Phantom Blood anime was released and at several points, the anime put a very specific emphasis on Dio's eyes at key points of his character's evolution, so it occurs to me that there is an actual purpose behind this
I think this stylistic choice is a set-up for Bites The Dust. Like maybe Bites The Dust is going to incorporate this effect into it since it starts at the victim's eyes.
God I can't wait for Bites The Dust to happen already.
There's probably a lot more lolicons than shotacons out there, while a couple of weirdos would've got off to shit like baby Polnareff and Hayato the vast majority of viewers wouldn't have.
And female nudity is nearly always meant to titillate instead of amuse in media, it's why cartoons and stuff will often show male asses as a joke but rarely girls. It's a double-standard but you can see why it's there.

Say what you want about the QUALITY and the cuts they've made, but by God part 4 feels stylish as all hell. Even in Quiet Life 1 before the monstrosity that was Quality Queen they built up his reveal better than they did in the manga in my opinion.

The eyes are the windows to the soul and all that shit, most anime uses some form of close-ups on them for dramatic effect. Araki does in panels too, while he didn't do it with KQ as much most other characters get tons of extreme closeups. Pic related.

It's funny to think that when Kira stole the life of Kosaku, he accidentally protected Morioh from having another Kira. I mean, look at Hayato, the fucking autistic had cameras on his parents bedroom. If he was just a social outcast he would turn into a eternal virgin otaku that would spend his day on 2ch. But no, he at the age of 10 were already keeping track of his parents sexual life. Having to fight against Kira and probably befriending Josuke and the Jobros is actually what stopped him from completely exclud himself from society and becoming a serial killer.

The "focus on character's eyes for dramatic moment" is a technique as old as the industry of film itself, but what I meant was that, at several points in the anime, this kind of focus is used even at moments that weren't in the manga. Half of those Dio moments from pic above never existed in the manga, and they give the scenes a completely new light. DP likes to use it a lot for telling the story, more so than Araki.
For example, look at pic related. Three examples of shots of Jonathan and Dio's eyes, shown directly one after the other.
Look at Jonathan's: warm colors, the focus is steady, unmoving, even when he's alarmed his eyes still show a semblance of tranquility
Now look at Dio's: intensely sharp edges, the focus is usually shaky when compared to Jonathan, there's always that vicious anger that accompanies these three.
It tells you a lot about their personalities and their contrast with each other without a single word.
DP does this kind of thing a lot and I like what Killer Queen is building up to.

For me I'd fucking kill for when Okuyasu makes his revival and saves Josuke from the air bubble that they'd play a completely new track that's a remix of BREAKDOWN/Josuke's theme and Okuyasu's theme, similar to how Act 3's theme is a mix of Courage and ACT 1.

Diavolo, Doppio and Buccellati all have different eyes to differenciate them in spite of their form-switching, which is pretty cool.
Buccellati has standard JoJo eyes, a colored iris with round light-reflections. Doppio has a colored iris but notably no light-reflections. And finally Diavolo has the distinctive tiny dot-pupils with flecks around them, and triangular light-reflections, which Doppio's eyes start to turn into when Diavolo begins taking over him.
