Naruto went downhill after sasuke failed to understand the message behind itachi's objective and that TWICE.
Also obito being defeated by talk no jutsu/constant flashbacks mid battle/madara getting replaced and overpowered by zetsu/ naruto/sasuke time even though the war could have been used to showcase and give more limelight to older cast.
So much missed opportunities and by the end the manga ended the series became a meme
