2. Killua theorized that he was okay with Alluka being locked up because of the influence of Illumi's needle. If this is true then the needle most likely made it so Alluka barely ever crossed Killua's mind.

I think you missed a point as well. It was stated again and again throughout the Chimera Ant Arc that the entire group had severely underestimated the Ants, so what do you expect Killua to do? Drop everything in the middle of a time sensitive fight, go all the way back home to a different country and then try and beg with his unreasonable mother to let him see Alluka (remember Silva was also near the Ants but Killua didn't know this)? Think before you try and make up plot holes, yeah?
