the "christian" dark ages are just false, we did not lose tech, it just spread wildly to areas it have never been to before as did Christianity. there were plenty of achievements but most scientific achievements are arbitrary to every one.
most of the tech was related to farming, warfare, and political structures as appose to other fields of sciences. most of this was related to the rampant growth of enlightenment during the dark ages into less urban and less advanced places. the dark ages was a period of great expansion, with the high middle ages leading into the resonance being a consolidation of all the gains.
Completely agree, it was a long road to accepting Christianity for me, but a careful study of history proves Atheism wrong morally, and even wrong scientifically.
Atheism naturally implies determinism, and determinism implies that Nature is a slave master, therefore Atheism deifies slavery.

Christian "dark ages" are a joke by the way. There never was such a thing as dark ages. There was power struggle and chaos with the successor states of Rome, but Christianity is what kept all that accumulated knowledge safe in monasteries. Not to talk about the advancements they made in the very same monasteries and universities.
