>After the failure of the Jamaica talks, Undespräsident Frank-Walter Steinmeier admonished the parties to reconsider their stance and not to refuse to talk about the formation of the government. "I expect all willingness to talk in order to make government education possible in the foreseeable future," said Steinmeier on Monday in Berlin. He does not want to embark on the path to elections. Steinmeier commented after a meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU). >If you are in elections for political responsibility, do not push yourself if you hold them in your hands, "Steinmeier warned. This is now the moment in which "Everyone involved should pause again and reconsider their attitude." The federal president now wants to hold talks with all parties involved in the consultation; So with the CDU, CSU, FDP and greens. He also wanted to speak with the leaders of the parties whose ' political intersections ' did not exclude a government formation. >A discussion with the SPD chairman Martin Schulz is planned for Wednesday. The SPD, however, once again closed the new edition of a grand coalition after the failure of the Jamaica negotiations. Party chief Schulz said on Monday rather: ' We do not shy of reelection. ' >Federal President Steinmeier wants to avoid elections as much as possible. The parties would have a responsibility "which, even after the presentation of the Basic Law, cannot be simply returned to the electorate." This responsibility goes far beyond one's own interests. In particular, this applies not only to the voters of their own parties. >Steinmeier also referred to Germany's international responsibility: the ' incomprehension and concern ' inside and outside the country would be great, ' if, in the largest and most economically strongest country in Europe, the political forces are responsible " >The FDP had talks with the CDU on the night of Monday, So their scared basically, and damage control

>In a surprise move, the pro-business Free Democrats (FDP) withdrew from talks after more than four weeks of negotiations with German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservative bloc and the environmentalist Greens, according to Reuters. The FDP said there was not enough common ground to continue the talks.
>The collapse was shocking since the main sticking points – immigration and climate change policy—were not seen as FDP signature issues.
>“It is better not to rule than to rule the wrong way. Goodbye!” FDP leader Christian Lindner said, blaming the breakdown on a lack of progress on education and tax policy.
>Failure to reach a deal was a major blow for Merkel, who was forced to consult President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on how to move forward. A deal had been within reach, she said. The collapse cast doubt on her efforts to win a fourth term.
>“It is a day of deep reflection on how to go forward in Germany,” Merkel told reporters, according to Reuters. “As chancellor, I will do everything to ensure that this country is well managed in the difficult weeks to come.”
>The failure of coalition talks is unprecedented in Germany’s post-war history, and was likened by some media commentators to the shock election of U.S. President Donald Trump or Britain’s referendum vote to leave the EU. >and was likened by some media commentators to the shock election of U.S. President Donald Trump or Britain’s referendum vote to leave the EU. For some reason English albeit easy is quite an unpopular subject for many younger people in school (true for languages in general I guess). I don't really get it though. You'd expect young people to use the internet a lot and learn English by doing alone already. Pensioneers probably don't speak it so well either.
In general though you should find plenty English-speakers here but many will be a quite clumsy due to a lack of practice and have a German dialect of some sort.
