Our life expectancy in all Western countries has been going up steadily for decades now (with the one exception being America under Trump, where people born now can expect to be the first American generation since the Civil War to live less time than their parents). Education is much more widespread, which also correlates strongly with longevity. And especially at the moment we're starting to achieve greater justice for minorities. Just look at all the reports against sexual harassers, gropers and rapists, and at the power of the #metoo movement (it's probably going to win the Time person of the year award). So we're definitely making progress in Western countries (except Murica). Much more needs to be done for the developing world. Unfortunately, conservatives are holding us back, as can be seen itt.
