Interesting question. I've long been concerned at the use of unnatural bright colours in marketing to children. Reminds me of Huxley's Brave New World where they were anxious to inculcate a rejection of nature in kids, that they might prefer the manmade and controlled artificial world of plastic and gaudy paint.
