shojo is ded, it's all about josei now

What's josei?

I thought that show was not so good.
My favourite shoujo would be Utena or Karekano.

...

Rose of Versailles is overrated as fuck but since nobody has even read it of course people think it's good.

When shojo grows up, she becomes josei

It's crazy how almost every single josei anime is somewhere between "good" and "masterpiece". At least if we go by MAL tags.

There are some good shoujo anime too. I believe we can split shoujo and shounen into two types, for children and for teenagers. They tend to be very different. And shoujo for children is often very good. Shoujo for teenagers also has some good, but also much that's bad.

I can't even think of many josei series, let alone one I would call good. These kinds of female demographic works seem bigger in manga than anime.

Chihayafuru
Usagi Drop
Kuragehime
Honey and Clover
Nodame Cantabile
Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu

And apparently Sakamichi no Apollon, which I've never heard about, is also good.
I think they used to include Nana too, but looks like it has been removed

Nigga it was made 45 years ago. Cut it some slack.

Wow those shows all suck

Chihayafuru is amazing you baka.
Possibly aoty 2011, and that was a good year too.

>Sakamichi no Apollon, which I've never heard about,
You're new to anime aren't you. But yeah josei happens to be best genre because it has so few bad entries. The market for josei anime must be so small that only if the source is really good it will get an adaptation.

>There are people who genuinely believe shoujo is generally worse than shounen

>josei
>genre

Nah josei is for sluts, shojo purity is where its at.
Specially the reverse trap stuff.

>seinen is just shonen with more tits and blood
>josei is just shoujo with more _____

is utena shojo or shonen? or a mix of both?

Shoujo in terms of genre, at the very least. I dunno what the intended demographic is.

Older men.

Realistic portrayals of romance and fashion.

t. Monarchist

Ace wo Nerae was awesome

Shame about the lack of subs further on

>josei
>95% of it is just DUDE CASUAL SEX LMAO

Disgusting.

Yeah, I like some shoujo, too.

>DVD

G O A T

the seinen of shoujo

the hell am I looking at?

we never said that

we said MODERN shoujo is shit

Shiiiiieeeeeet.
Now I can fap to Saint-Juste in 1080p

Does anyone have sauce for this manga?
Had it in my ch folder since forever.

Should download it before there are no more seeders.

I think you're an idiot who is stupid.

Already on it dear bro.

There ain't even any subs!

Just slap the Akashiro ones on top.

Rip the subs from the dvd release, put them on the BD release with Aegisub. Most of them don't even need retiming, just resizing.

I know you are but what am I?

FUCK.
I never noticed how ironic that part was.

An angry teenager shooting a poor fireman to death.

I watched it recently and holy shit this notOscar was so annoying.

I'll fite u fgt.

What's google?

>adult characters.
Ask no further.

m8 they're all pretty bad

Josei is by far the most realistic demographic.
Shoujo is not in any way a genre; it is exclusively a demographic. Also, Utena is shoujo.

Literally cry everytime.
Seriously, it's just so cruel how God, Fate and The Universe just decide to fuck over Nanako like that.

I've heard the story is good but that art style is atrocious, not reading it

>art style is atrocious
>reading
It's literally a masterpiece, too bad you're aren't committed enough to anime to appreciate it, you fucking casual.

>my subjective opinion is better than yours!

Holy shit these are all awful.

Anyway, the best 'genre' (if you can call it that) is seinen.

Shoujo and Josei try to pander to women which ALWAYS comes with shit drama.

Shounen is usually brain dead and predictable. The female characters always blow ass.

Seinen, outside of harem, usually hit all the right spots.
