Tropes

ITT: tropes you unironically enjoy in anime

I'll start
>big weapons wrapped in bandages/cloth, ie. Wolfwood's cross in Trigun or Samehada in Naruto

I don't know why but it just looks cool

Things covered in bandages look cool overall. It's something that I haven't seen outside of anime/japanese games and I don't even know where it started, but I sure as hell ain't complaining.

Fuck off narutard

not being shit

>Protag gets brutally tortured/almost dies
>Has some sort of revelation regarding his powers
>proceeds to completely fuck up the person fighting/torturing him
Kaneki v Yamori fight got me rock solid

OTP go on a date or irrelevant character gets an episode

...

>character starts laughing about something ironically
>opposing character starts laughing too
>both start laughing harder and try to out-laugh each other

...

>Male Character gets actually raped by a female character.

Extremely rare, but a miracle.

Megane-kun being constantly rejected, and dirty jokes

>using "that"
Especially when it hasn't even been tested yet.

Guy walks in on a girl on the toilet. Sadly it's not that common in anime but it is a common trope in eroge.

I actually really liek this design, it just felt forced since it replaced another great one...

>MC knows he has to fight a stronger opponent
>actually uses all the tools given to him and plans the fight

negima and overlord come to mind

>Bart get out I'm piss

>when everything slows down then respeeds itself quickly executing the attack
pic not related

> MC sacrifices resources and time, handicapping himself in order to protect information about himself, makes a spectacular comeback at the end

(Akagi vs Urabe) youtube.com/watch?v=ne-4rE7BzmY

>yandere/yamgires

>op starts playing during climax

>double ended saves

>battle royale/death game

>straight man surrounded by weirdos

>close up on lips whispering something important

>naturally special eyes(blind, dull, blank, you name it)

>metaliteral scenes

Here's why it happened
>guys I'm putting Vincent in KH
>no Tetsuya, put Cloud
>but I want Vincent, it's my game
>I said Cloud
>fuck you guys Cloud looks like Vincent now

>panel shots of influential/powerful individuals

Ano hana...and what else?

Kodomo no Jikan has its fair share of reverse-peadophillic molestation.

>Protagonist becomes the villain after a revelation about the world

Makes me hard

>joke character is actually incredibly powerful

>Protagonist becomes the enemy of the world to protect someone

>riding in a helicopter
>it aint me starts playing

Similar to >Protagonist becomes the villian in some way or another, previous antagonist becomes the new MC

Even better if any of the following:
>The side character stay on the side of good, and now have to learn to work with the previous antagonist
>rather than being the main antagonist, they only get a secondary or even minor antagonist on their side, a significant downgrade from the old MC
Best plotline in Skulduggery ever

KEK

>it's an act alpha as fuck despite overwhelming odds episode.

rins guardian?
that was played off as love and he was of age though

when villians team up
especially when they are bros

>Villain is presented in a sympathetic way
>Villain is bitter about the heroes
>Villain is best character
Pic related, Spirit Circle, OMK in a way

Yelling hot-blooded characters

Old characters being some of the strongest characters in their respective series is probably my favorite.

It's going to be a sad day when Netero gets power creeped.
And by sad day, I mean the armageddon because that's how long it'll take for us to get there.

>tfw Momioka finally gets her own chapter since the first series
Holy shit did that take a while.

Roronoa Zoro's fight with assasin Daz "mr. 1" was pretty awesome.Especially when they sort of explained his revelation.

...That he could sense the "rythm" or "Breath" of things. That all things had their own "breath" or essense. And if you concentrate on it, you can choose to slash at living things and NOT cut them, or to slash at dead things and easily cut them ...just depending on how you want to deal with their "rythm".

In a fight where the opponent can literally change his own body to steel-hard blades, just waving a sword wasn't enough. And that's why he was taking such a beating: none of his attacks were working since opponents body was as strong as his own weapon.
But now that he realized that he could sense the breath/essense of things, even the essense of that guys steel body... cutting it become suddenly trivial.

That is some bad ass shit right there.
One of the episodes I truly enjoyed, despite the ridiculous premises they had. That's the strenght of one piece: it can take the most outlandish premises and treat them as serious business and make awesome scenarios from them ...and then reverse the situation and turn some properly dark and horrendious situations into some slapstick humour.

But thats every episode

>op starts playing during climax
Shit gets me diamond.

>op starts playing during climax

Bonus point for long running series, with multiples OPs, when the real final fights is here, first OP OF THE SERIE PLAYS

HeroxVillian, but instead of one turning to the other side, they remain enemies, and have to deal with their contrarian ideals and no leaking the secret to each side while still dating/being attracted/fucking each other.

Fucking rare to find without the villain going full good guy quickly

>his power comes from being the joke

Like a stupid person that can ignore everthing because he just doesnt realize that he should take damage or something.

Fuck Touma and her. I hope they both suffer
