YOU HAVE EXACTLY 10 SECONDS TO DEFINE 'NET NEUTRALITY'

YOU HAVE EXACTLY 10 SECONDS TO DEFINE 'NET NEUTRALITY'.

LEAVE MY Sup Forums ALONE REEEEE

The thing that is saving this website from being slowed down to an unusable speed

who cares about the definition, just look at those pushing it.

I choose the ISPs over Goolag, Fagbook and Plebbit.

Nice try comcast

>NET NEUTRALITY
Net neutrality is the principle that Internet service providers and governments regulating most of the Internet must treat all data on the Internet the same

Net (((delete Sup Forums)))

This website uses almost no bandwith. It's litterally just text and a few jpeg's. Compare that to Netflix, that streams 4k video to millions of homes.

Netflix users are the ones that are going to get charged extra here. Netflix are pushing its costs onto ISPs and ISPs are tired of it.

>tfw net neutrality will be killed because of radical contrarian Sup Forumsacks
>tfw no face

>stealing from wikipedia

Subsidizing the biggest users of data with government protection s to ward off any type of competition

It means NO FUCKING TIERS fuck off with that shit.

>Netflix users are the ones that are going to get charged extra here. Netflix are pushing its costs onto ISPs and ISPs are tired of it.

Yup

>April 28, 2014

>Netflix has reached a paid-peering-interconnection agreement with Verizon, both companies confirmed to TIME on Monday.

>The deal, which establishes a direct connection between the two companies to improve service for users, comes two months after Netflix struck a similar deal with Comcast.

>“We have reached an interconnect arrangement with Verizon that we hope will improve performance for our joint customers over the coming months,” Netflix spokesperson Joris Evers tells TIME.

>A Verizon spokesperson confirmed the agreement but declined to provide financial terms of the arrangement. After the Comcast pact with Netflix, both Verizon and AT&T expressed a desire to reach similar deals with the streaming service to improve service for consumers.

The ISPs didn't have to raise their rates on consumers. But since Netflix was paying the ISP's it is now on them to pass that cost over the consumer. Non Netflix customers weren't hit with a rate increase for their Internet service. This is how it should work.

Googong, Facechase, and what ever big holy chihito is connected to a CDN is already bent into the ISPs direction. This isn't really black or white.

>plebbit spacing

Good goy! Fight those antisemite Redditors!

Never said:
>Define net neutrality IN YOUR OWN WORDS

>we're still trying to confirm

Net neutrality is fake news.

>2009

You mean that ISPs fucking with websites happened before NN?

Wow, who would've thought?

yep never said so

The prevention of ISPs being able to use the internet as a tool for censorship, denial of the freedoms of speech and information, and as a political tool against websites and viewpoints they do not like. Also the prevention of treating the internet as anything other than a nesseccary utility that is vital to and for modern life, as nesseccary as electricity.

Net Neutrality means that the internet is not controlled by the people who give access to the internet, but in control of the users of the internet and owners of individual websites. It prevents the abuse of the broader populace by those who have stake in this industry and dissallows those who have stake in this industry to abridge the rights of their customers.

Digital communism.

>DEFINE 'NET NEUTRALITY'
GOVERNMENT CONTROL

nigger I'm posting through my AT&T phone right now

kill yourself

What is stopping it from happening again user?

Internet is like your water, you can do whatever you want with it. Without net neutrality, it is like your water company charging you ten times more for water if you drink the water, because they want to sell you their bottle water.

Government says "gimme dat!"

FCC control of the internet so Soros and friends can eliminate non leftist political discourse.

And Daily Stormer was knocked off the internet entirely while NN was in place.

hmm...

pandora's box

>Net Neutrality is:

ANOTHER @#$&ING THING I DON'T WANT TO BOTHER WITH TODAY!!!
