Where does American "greatness" come from? Are we in a geographically advantageous position? Just historically lucky? Smarter than the sum of our parts somehow? Did we take the best minds and resources by strong-arming other countries as the libs say or are we mostly self-made juggernaut as the republicans claim?

I want to know the most contrarian pol-esque opinion because I feel like either answer lies south of whatever political camp you're in.

it comes from white people having real balls
political camp hahaha what is wrong with you

American capitalism really flourished in the late 1800's early 1900's. Then Europe got into WW1 and destroyed themselves while America was left unscratched and then in WW2 they really fuck themselves up.

America took advantage of its position and forced the rest of the powers to allign behind it in the bretton woods agreement tying all their currencies to the dollar. Once the FED realized they couldn't keep up with the convertibility in the 70's Nixon struck a deal with the arabs cementing the dollar position as the world reserve currency, but that agreement is starting to crack and America is a dying superpower now.

TLDR: America did well in the 19th century and then kept its power through luck and political maneuvering.

Bacon a lot of bacon, also not spending the time of day trying to justify ourselfs to pussys about what is right and wrong. Freedom means fuck off and fuck you.

white settlers

we ARE in a geographically beneficial position, but mainly its because ethnos is not written into our founding documents/institutions

>America has some of the most fertile and productive land in the world
>America is one of the biggest nation's in the world, meaning they have lots of fertile land and resources
>American has fully exploited their resources due to the genius of the European mind
"I just can't figure it out Sup Forums, what makes us so great? Is it our diversity?"

American greatness comes from a lot of things.

First we all have the freedom to do whatever the fuck we want to do. For instance, we can buy what ever the fuck we want without our government telling us what we cant and cannot do. America has the best military and allows protesters to gather in the streets whether or not people disagree with their views. My boyfriend Joe has a stable job. He owns a cotton farm and ive always wondered where did you come from cotton eye joe. Therefore, america does in fact have a lot of freedom.

A lot of it is luck.

The rest of it is having the best geographic positioning on the fucking planet, plus California which is in and of itself a prize above all others in terms of natural wealth and strategic use.

American power will persist for as long as the United States controls the Caribbean. As the Caribbean goes, so goes the Western hemisphere.

China is hoping to do the same (albeit in a smaller fashion) with the South China Sea.

So we just used politics to get our way? It had to have been mostly military leverage right? Because if staying out of the war and being a negotiating country is all it takes we would be matched at least in part by Mexico and Canada.

Were white people just smart enough to get the biggest guns the fastest?

>its because ethnos is not written into our founding

this sounds like bait, explain

>>>b

You mean you don't know?

One of the highest densities of arable land in the world

>Freedom makes us successful

white people are great
thats all.

Hello new friend

well, if you believe in fichtes definition of a "nation" then the US isn't even one.
since it obviously IS a nation, and you turn to it founding docs (federalst papers) you see a distinct trend AWAY from a specfic ethnic identity and more of an ideological one. there is still an identity, but it isn't based in the history of the peoples there because they didnt create america

tl;dr: it's a country based on ideas not people

my aunt's son was from Sweden. he always found america to be pleasing but never came here because he said it was dangerous. so in that sense gun violence in america is an inherent disadvantage.

>American greatness came from Europe you stupid burger....but the kikes, niggers and beaners have fucked it up as predicted.

>white people

which ones? the fucking English settlers? The mid-1900's Irish dog immigrants? the Swedish pussies in kansas? The Czech? All of the above?

Genuinely curious. I mean Ray Fucking crock was white and now a lot of whites are land-whales thanks to him so clearly we've got some fucking distinctions to make

I wana know which "white" ancestors I can thank for our good fortune.

>it's a country based on ideas not people

I want to believe this is true, but it kind of sounds like would put it

>hurr muh diversity

I get it though. I mean at least Einstein off the top of my head was a foreign ace in the hole for us.

I'm not praising "diversity" as such, it's just more that, with all those other things being true, our country is designed to thrive because it is not does not consider things like citzenship and ethnos to be of highest importance

American Greatness = Anglo-Saxon Founding Fathers, no aristocracy, firm uniting principles and the perfected form of centuries of north western European thought manifested in the founding documents.
They explicitly named the jew as well, so this is all well known.

Why is the Caribbean so crucial?

patriarchy and racism is what made america great

>ideas not people
This is fucking retarded and completely ahistorical. Every last one of the Founders expressed clear racial and ethnic consciousness on multiple occasions. The idea of America being a 'nation of ideas' was invented by Jews (who are fundamentally non-American) in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Modern (Republican) France is less of an explicitly ethnic nation than the US.
Einstein produced nothing of any major lasting value, he was a forced meme even while he was alive. If you want a commie Jew fuck who actually did important work in that field look at Oppenheimer or Feynman.

It offers innumerable strategic positions to the occupying power and gives said power the ability to easily and rapidly project its will across the entire New World.

Furthermore it gives the US a safe staging ground for its navy, which has control of all of the world's oceans. That control allows the USA to open and close the doors of prosperity to whoever they want. Because the Western hemisphere is effectively locked down, there are very few pressing domestic issues or concerns for the US government, which allows it to focus on other areas.

The vast majority of americans are grossly overweight

>Where does American "greatness" come from?
Being white.

Gulf stream nigger. It is the start of an ocean highway that saves fuel.

Jews.
Everything from the nuclear missiles that form your deterrence, to the multinationals that control the world, to your government, all Jews.

>Are we in a geographically advantageous position?

Natural resources.

/thread.

I imagine because it is a pretty new continent compared to Europe.
Natives did'nt use resources so americans had plenty.
Along with most people that went there were actually looking to get filthy rich.
Also has always been very focused on arms, as modern day America shows with having one of the biggest armies along with good weaponry.

It has its ups and downs, but I don't really view America as "the greatest ever".
While powerfull, the living standard is far lower than even my own country.

You're descended from the most intrepid explorers of Europe.

Geographical advantage. Nothing more, nothing less.

American greatness came from the first real concrete, universal ideal that was bigger than all men; democracy. Since a society thrives when there is something higher to fight for, democracy provided that; not just for the aristocrats, but for all (landed white) men.
Unlike a theocracy (which also historically do pretty well), people are less likely to lose faith in a democracy because it's tangible every time a ballot is cast.
Really, this history of democracy more than filled the void that we have from a lack of true heritage (MUH MELTING POT).

Also, being a European power on an isolated island full of spearchuckers would do anyone good.
