Is there a way out of this?

I see people pushing hard trying to fight against this but I really don't see any way out this time. It almost seems inevitable at this point that net neutrality's going away.
And don't try to tell me net neutrality's bad and should go away because reddit likes it. Trying to spite reddit that much makes you worse than them.

No, burn silicon valley down. They want to be treated neutrally, but they don't treat the content posted neutrally.

Capitalism will take over and a new company will come out saying drop these companies and come to us, we have the internet just like the old days! Problem solved.

what makes you think its inevitable?

Any oldfags from 2015 online? How was life before Net Neutrality? Which website packages did you have?

It's just so close to the time they vote and the odds seem really stacked against us this time. Even if by some miracle we scrape by keeping net neutrality they're bound to keep trying until eventually it goes away. This same thing keeps popping up and all it takes is one time we fail to lose A LOT of freedom.

What freedom will you lose? The freedom to be banned on Twitter or Reddit for wrongthink? The freedom to have your stuff not show up in Google searches if it's deemed wrongthink? The freedom to have your YouTube videos demonetized because of wrongthink?

>limited to 128kbps afterwards
fucking shoot me

The freedom to go to this damn site for one.

If it really comes to that, just use a VPN.

Traffic in VPN tunnels are encrypted and your ISP won't know what websites you view (so they can't possibly charge you extra for youtube and twitter and shit).

The freedom to go to these sites the freedom to have fast internet without it being forced to be slow by shit companies

Net neutrality has existed since the dawn of the Internet under telecommunications jurisdiction from what I understand, the 2015 laws just reaffirmed that those laws still applied.

Why do you goys.. ehrr guys, support net neutrality?
Are you commies or what?

theyll get brought out

NN grants the government massive power over the internet that they simply don't know how to utilize yet. They will in time.

Give me liberty.

>VPN

Becomes illegal, problem solved
Not to mention that VPN provider prices are going to skyrocket

Are you against The Free Market?

Poor Amerifats.

Yeah, I don't think so.

The vast majority of VPN users use that shit for connecting to work.

>Game Tap

Internet is a public utility and the Free Market doesn't, has never, and will never exist.
We are a socialist democracy, get used to it

I can see it now:
>In order to keep the net truly neutral and fair, we need to ban terror websites, starting with Sup Forums, they create a hostile environment that affects others off and online.

Governments + Corporations, especially of the media variety are controlled by the same group. You're not only retarded, but thoroughly fucked.

Unironically this. I would sacrifice the internet as we know it if it meant knocking Google, Twitter, Facebook, etc down a peg or two

Nah fuck off reddit.

Doesn't work like that. The biggest dick will just buy them out or force them to collapse. And even if they didn't, there's no saying that this new company will be able to provide to every area (just like US ISPs now and their monopolies over massive areas of the country).

Capitalism is the worst system.

ftc.gov/system/files/documents/public_statements/1054963/ohlhausen_cotechjournal.pdf

Think about where you got that idea. Where did you get it? Who made you afraid? Do you really believe that you won't be able to visit here? Why was it possible to visit here before net neutrality? It only exists for a year or so.
You have to think about why Google and Reddit and whoever are all fighting for this. Why is that? They say it's about neutrality, but can you believe that? That can't be right if they let SJWs ban content and people on their platforms. They don't really believe in having things be neutral.
If there will be something extra to pay, I bet it won't be you who has to pay. It will be on the other side, Netflix and YouTube and such will have to pay if they want to get access to you with all their traffic. Meanwhile, this here is a shitty site with a bunch of text and some pictures.

That's because you're a fucking moron who hasn't educated himself about the consequences of your actions.
But hey, it sure gets those cucks mad

>Becomes illegal

I hope you don't actually believe that

Net neutrality has been a default rule set due to how the backbone of the internet was constructed and funded. The rules were REAFFIRMED only.

>It only existed for a year or so

Shoo shoo, NN was made to replace old laws that served a similar purpose. Repealing it means they'd be under nothing.

Enlighten me, leftist faggot. Why should I support corporations that are explicitly against my ideology over corporations that are just worried about their bottom line?

Hey there customer, saw you were using a VPN, sorry but you just violated the User Agreement. Not only are you facing surcharges to your account for us having to look into this, but your rate is going to be increased as well

No they used the Communications Act of 1996 which acted like an antitrust law.

ftc.gov/system/files/documents/public_statements/1054963/ohlhausen_cotechjournal.pdf

They want to compliment something similar but with more antitrust which means more ISPs to choose from and they'll still stop them from doing unfair business practices like they did before. Begone low info cuckolds!

Oh wow, you do actually believe that. I'm sorry

Only leftists want net netrality to stay

So you don't think that you can agree with ANY policy supported by a company that "goes against your ideology" even if the policy they are supporting is very clearly in favor of the USERS AND OWNERS OF THE INTERNET.
ThatS us by the way. The American taxpayer paid billions upon billions to set up the backbones and exchange centers. We own this internet.

>More ISP to choose from

Pfthahaha yeah man the mom and pops ISP store in my neighborhood gives way better service than Comcast. Google can't even get lines down, there's not gonna be more options.

It's very simple. If Soros supports it, then it needs to go away.

You don't believe that ISPs will try to make extra money by fucking consumers? What planet are you proxying in from

How are u even sure shit like your pic will actually happen?

>hey that cuck Soros supports clean water!

This is what you are

what's it like living in 2007?

Of course low info shills like you have no idea what antitrust laws are, you know Comcast right? That will be shattered to pieces and scattered to the wind. You shills really are business and law illiterate.

Yes totally, the giant comm corporation pouring huge amounts of cash to sink net neutrality will be completely shattered by its repeal.

ftc.gov/system/files/documents/public_statements/1054963/ohlhausen_cotechjournal.pdf

What they want to do with the repeal is charge companies like Netflix, Hulu, and other content providers. That is what they wanted in 2015 which was stopped and that is why they want it again. Do you really think they care about little shithead you when they already throttle and raise prices and you just sit back bend over and ask for more please?

Companies don't care about long term perspectives they care about short term gains for their shareholders and CEO.

Quit being a low T cuckold shill.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breakup_of_the_Bell_System

You're a malicious liar and you haven't even read your pages

this wouldn't happen if the government stayed out of the market and let competition happen. instead they intervene and single handedly cause monopolies.

capitalism is good, government is bad.

That whole 32 page article is about how the FTC wants to break them up. The FCC wants to go back to how it was pre 2015 which used the Communications Act of 1996 which used antitrust like laws which worked fine.

That's all you can say? "Y-you're a liar!" You shills are pathetic.

Why do you think there is such a huge push for Net Neutrality? The companies want to change something, obviously in a way that makes them more money.

Yes they want to do the exact same thing they wanted to do in 2015. Charge Netflix, Hulu, and other content providers more since those companies are making billions using ISPs for the same price as anyone else. You have to be delusional if you think they care about your little peanuts especially when they already throttle and raise prices constantly.

>And don't try to tell me net neutrality's bad and should go away because reddit likes it. Trying to spite reddit that much makes you worse than them.

This is basically what shills have been saying all day yesterday. Hi shill, I don't care if people are for against NN but you are obviously a shill.
