St. Louis has hit 185 murders for 2017, and is on-track to set an all-time murder record. These numbers are for a city of only 315,000, which means the RATE for 2017 is already 58 per 100,000 (and rising, of course). The developed-world average is 0.5 to 1.5. In the "bad" areas of St. Louis, the rates are well over 100, which is a violent death rate consistent with an active CIVIL WAR. Why doesn't the media ever point out this fact? This should shock and horrify people and lead to a military response. This should never be acceptable in a developed, first-world nation.

The DENSITY of murders is god-damned insane. This is what I mean by "civil war" - there are repeated deadly attacks in the exact same locations over and over again, and authorities are either too scared or too incompetent to do anything about it. This is what a true "no-go zone" looks like - the law cannot protect you in a place like this. Killers operate with impunity.
