Why and how exactly was it that the Republican party started out as the party of equal rights and racial equality and all the racists and Slave owners were Democrats.... only to have a century or so later have it switched where the Democrats are for racial justice and equality etc. and all the racists belong to the Republican party?
What happened?

Maybe it's not that simple.

>virtue signal social justice
Kevin Johnson
Every fucking thing is a virtue signal. that term is so fucking retarded. It's too broad and vague.
Colton Kelly
Not really, it's a linguistic device to derivsely regard the "feel good" ideology of the left that lacks actual substance.
It gives us the ability to shame lefties and corporatations that fall in line to lefty regimes. You're "virtue signaling" when you're seeking influence by saying Something that you've been told people "want to hear" and believing youre vitreous for just saying it.
Josiah Jones
But democrats aren't for equal rights. They just SY that they are for equal right. Actions speak louder than words
Jose Gonzalez
That's a good question OP
perhaps you should look a little more into things, perhaps things are not what they seem on the surface
Charles Lopez
They never switched, user. One side realized they couldn't win and started lying.
Jaxon Stewart
>the Democrats are for racial justice and equality etc. Only so they can get elected.... they are a bunch of hypocrites
Luis Lopez
They put a nigger in the office of President for 8 years

They do it on purpose to fuck with us.

The Democrats "claim" to be for racial justice and equality. Really they're just for getting votes from the minority community, and enslaving them in different ways. It's easy to realize this if you have a triple digit IQ.
Blake Reyes
How is it? it isn't. In this word you are either a mule or a preist to the dems. The dems still shill for their corporate high priests who need cheap labor. America is so amazing we don't even have to enslave people, all you have to do is not enforce immigration law and people are so desperate and life here(even if you're a human mule)is so much better of quality, they do it willingly. Guess who needs cheap labor? It's not the locallly owned business on Main Street, it's the big money folks. As for the middle class, dems said fuck em. If they tax the corporations enough they can make us all poor, submissive, and government "assisted." We'll all be in a system similar to the coal camps of Appalachia, living of company Script and company housing, replacing the word company with some fuzzy word to make all the blue pulled retards feel good, social justice will be served and regardless of your actions you will have equal results. They figured out you can get your mules to vote for you if you're politically correct, yu dig? Same ideology, new language rules. They have warped the description of their agenda so much, you actually believe what they're saying. But, they're saying the same things.

>Democrats are for racial justice Are they though?
Wyatt Jackson
Between welfare and minimum wage, the Democrats have done more to keep the negro in a permanent state of destitution than any of their flagrantly racist Jim Crow laws ever could. They don't give a rats ass about equality.
Brayden Ross
Communism infected america with identity politics.

>Why and how exactly was it that the Republican party started out as the party of equal rights and racial equality and all the racists and Slave owners were Democrats
It's still that way, it's just the left has gone full-'Slavery is Freedom' and doesn't know what words like 'equality' mean anymore.
That said, political parties don't actually stand for shit except their own power. Their positions are whatever they need to be to get whatever segment of voters they happen to be courting at a point in history to vote for them. As the set of targeted voters shifts over time, the party's positions change with it.
Jose Barnes
The Republicans have basically stayed the same, economically, since the mid 19th century. They were a liberal party then, ie they wanted the state to exercise minimal control over the economy, and that's pretty much how they feel now (ostensibly, in any case).
The "platform switch" has more to do with the party's attitude towards the rich and powerful. In the 19th century, the rich were principally comprised of landowners, so being in favour of free markets and free enterprise was taking a stand against moneyed interests (moreso in Europe, but also in America). By the 20th century, an entirely new class of rich people had overtaken the old, and was comprised of successful businessmen. Now, being in favour of free enterprise and minimal government intervention is seemingly to be in support of the rich and powerful, despite the position not actually changing during that whole period.
Jayden Watson
Nothing has changed. Elitism on the left, populism on the right
Christian Barnes
The right is still for equal rights. And Democrats are still the party of rascists. Democrats base everything they do on race and gender and any other splinter they can use. The right sees everyone as equal.

Because democracy is a scam, two groups of elites competing for power. Nationalism is dangerous for those in power, so they decided to destroy nationhood after WW2
