So why is Flip Flappers being completely ignored by the Japs?

So why is Flip Flappers being completely ignored by the Japs?

Shit taste.

Because it's bad

because the cute girls are lusting for each other and not some self-insertfag

It's pretty uninteresting.

*Nobody* and I mean *nobody* gives a shit about actual girls love. It's only for masturbating too and everyone knows it.

It feels like someone decided to take Space Dandy's episodic shenanigans, replace the cast with generic cute girls, and remove the fun.

The nips have shit taste but this is one show that deserves to flop.

c-can yuri ever be saved, user?

I asked myself the same question when Phantom World was airing.

No marketing. Though I think it's popularity is rising with every episode.

Yuri is the most boring thing to fap to. It only exists for mindbreak doujins.

If they were boys it wouldnt have flopped.

Simple, it doesn't have male homo romance

This. People like boys love cause boys arent shit when it comes to gay.

...

No it would have sold because BL has a market. (A fucking huge one apparently) Yuri does not.

And that's because boys love is more endearing (and realistic).

BL sucks because they are destined to do anal

So, multi-layered and fucking delicious?

I don't get it, but I'm hungry now.

Lesbian "sex" is literally just glorified masturbation.

They're both porn. There is no expectation of realism. Fujos have buying power, love em or hate em, and can prop up multiple homoerotic anime past 10k in one season. Yuri has no such supporters. Thats what this boils down to. If they want to sell weirder stuff that doesn't appeal to otaku, they need to appeal to someone else.

It's like that pizza taco thing except different.

At least they don't put their dicks in places it really shouldn't go in

Disgusting

Says someone who hasnt tried it.

>american cuisine

With good reason

The only place where dicks shouldn't go in is your mother's vagina.

Anyone who refuses to get fucked at least once is obviously gay.

Yurishit garbage

absolutely fucking disgusting

I'd rather be gay than have a dick up my ass

Because they aren't boys, otherwise fujoshits would have made it very successful

Well, FLFL was pretty much the most endearing thing I've seen in years until they laced the whole thing with SUFFERING.

more like flip-FLOPPERS

what the fuck

Looks starchy as shit, and would turn into a mass of undifferentiated paste within ten minutes. That shit you've got to eat fast.

What was that "gragra" thing that papika couldn't say in the flashback? Au Gratin?

Lack of any serious marketing.

But then Yuki Yuna was also seriously lacking, and it gets second season, right next month.

Nips have shit taste pic related

>absolutely bonkers in the beginning, but by the end we're salivating for more

This video better be a satire. No one deserve to eat that. That's not food, that's an abomination.

First 9 episodes are bad.

Plenty of anime were successful without marketing. Its just not a show nips are interested in.

Because it isn't. It's selling about average for a show of its type, it's just that Sup Forums thinks that because they talk about a show more than average it should also sell better.

>It's selling about average for a show of its type
Really?

holy fuck I'm a retard for not making that connection

Man this thread is really convincing me fujos are a terrible fanbase.

...

Which connection?

BL-otaku exist in significant enough numbers to be counted separately.

Now make them red

Yeah, average for an anime original with little marketing and little name recognition outside a few niche interest guys. A couple of thousand BDs is what those usually sell, and the actual quality of a show really doesn't matter all that much. Sometimes there's a breakout hit like Yuri on Ice that just happens to hit the zeitgeist perfectly, but that is a big exception to the norm and shouldn't be considered normal by any means.

Well if we like it than the japs should like it too

>this thread
If you've been a weeb for more than a year you know that dealing with hambeasts is the definition of suffering. They are a bunch of know-it-all who insists that dicks going into dude asses is the purest form of love.

Seriously man, this one hambeast has been trying to get me to watch Ai no Kusabi for ten fucking years. And she's married and has kids. shudders.

Maybe you should fucking watch it then

What about shitload of art? Sales doesn't equal the actual popularity.

What's all the hype about this is just how you eat ramen in the US

I'm not seeing it on pixiv

>i-it's on twitter!

This has lots of art?

It's not so much about how much people like it and more about how many people care about it in the first place. The guys discussing it on 2ch sure seem to like it about as much as we do.

No.

Pixiv is pretty barren when it comes to flifla.

Look on twitte3r

Suffering isn't bad. Bad suffering is bad. FliFla still has a few episodes left before we can call it.

All weeb fanbases are disgusting.

...

the series was clearly made by otaku for otaku. Its chock full of homages to every series imaginable. Of course they would love it, they are us, we are the same.

It will never be huge like YOI and that is fine. Every few years you get a gift like this from a studio, enjoy it

I hope I can agree with you, but the whole thing is so weird, I don't know how they could make it inspiring again.

Called it

well no shit genius, you "calling it" because it's true and everyone knows it doesn't constitute a burn.

I don't see how suffering is a problem tho?

I mean, there's also mahou shoujo ikusei keikaku, and it's apparently doing better than soushin shoujo matoi because it has more suffering.

msik is doing well because it's an adaptation that comes with an established fanbase

Explain Cocona's backstory.
Cocona's troubled past has been hinted at since the beginning and having some confirmation in that, for me, would make me appreciate her as a character more.

I mean more meta suffering. It's like "Papika is actually 40 years old?!??!" It was so unexpected it's hard to imagine that they have a plan to deal with it in the narrative, and it's just going to be one of those poor writing things that makes no sense and you kind of groan and move on.

All anime are made by otaku for otaku.

Japanese fanart or western fanart?

mimi's coconas mama

I thought her troubled past worked just fine casting her as a misfit, who just had a lot of trouble opening up to others. Lots of people don't need a supernatural backstory to have problems.

yeah, I'm sure the amount of fanart is "massive"

They don't like GNU

>Papika is actually 40 years old
That's up to debate because time doesn't actually exist.

source: Dr. Salt

>It was so unexpected it's hard to imagine that they have a plan to deal with it in the narrative

They've been hinting at it since episode 3 dude. Stop pretending that because you personally couldn't see it coming from a mile away that means it was made up on the spot.

Not to mention when stuff like this really is built up way in advance people are just going to call it predictable.

Go interject somewhere else, Richard.

I hope they can do a psychoanalysis episode of Cocona like what they did in ep 6.

Yuri aside (and I don't actually think there's enough Yuri to be offputting- its just not the draw that it is for westerners), this kind of anime doesn't sell well unfortunately.

Yup, pixiv is dead because of some drama. Japs are actually prefer twitter now.
By the way there are 169 pics on danbooru, which is huge for an original ongoing show. And YoI has only 183.

Does that mean Cocona is 40 too, and Flip Flap is the cute ara aras doing cute ara ara things anime we've always wanted?

> pixiv is dead because of some drama. Japs are actually prefer twitter
...what?

When I went to Comiket last summer, Pixiv was huge.

>YoI has only 183.
That says more about the people who upload to danbooru than about the amount of fanart.

Oh god no. "MBTI-kun" was a huge faggot.

How does twitter replace something like pixiv? It seems like the temporal parts of twitter wouldn't work well for searching older fanart...

Look up some YoI or UtaPri tags on pixiv and tell me how dead it is.

Pixiv may have declined but there's still a lot more art there for other shows this season that for flifla.

MBTI is as good as astrology. I mean a character introspection ep.

Only if you're a tard.

>YoI has only 183.
But it's getting name recognition in South Park of all place.

Granted, Japan loves South Park and draw ikemen yaoi version of Kenny and friends. But it's not everyday you see anime namedropped in mainstream Western media, let alone a pseudo-homo anime.

Because it's something Japanese artists already use, unlike every other site apart from pixiv itself.

What happened on pixiv exactly? I have noticed some artists I follow haven't posted anything up there at all for months but have uploaded most of their recent works to twitter.

>How does twitter replace something like pixiv?
Very poorly.
But I suppose it has more of a social aspect to it, which is what the kids like these days.
