There is no reason AT&T shouldn't be allowed to buy Time Warner. I'm a little pissed off that the government is wasting my money trying to stop it, when it's clearly legal and it's clearly going to be allowed.

fuck all corporate mergers. its literally capitalism at its worst

I don't see any reason why a company shouldn't be allowed to buy another company.

Shut the fuck up, you communist. Companies has every right to merge and become a monopoly.

It's called free market for a reason, not socialism

Because you have no idea the amount of companies these corporations have eaten already just to merge into a huge controlling monster

It's not a free market if it's controlled by the few.

trips of truth

You're not mad, you're a paid shill for a large corporation. sage

Prosecuting anti-trust cases and the like is literally the only thing Democrats used to do that didn't make everything worse.

They stopped doing that in favour of importing cheap votes and labour for their corporate masters.

I don't think Trump is the outsider they say, but you're a moron if your organic opinion is the same as shill OP's.

But AT&T and Time Warner aren't even in the same industry.

ew socialists

Its called free market because the government doesnt intervene in their business dealings,
Its called free market because companies can do whatever the fuck they want, like becoming a monopoly.

Time Warner = Media content
AT&T = Media content delivery

Look up vertical monopoly and get the fuck off this board, corporate shill faggot.

How is my life going to be worse of if AT&T buys Time Warner?

They will use their market capitalization to crush competition, further consolidating the market until they're the only conglomerate left.

And then you'll be paying 10 times as much for 10 times worse service.

>muh free market, I'll do whaterver I want
Free market just means without government intervention. It has laws and the government is responsible for enforcing those laws, as in this case, ensuring a mega company merger doesn't interfere with fair competition because that's illegal.

This does nothing to increase their internet market share

You know Time Warner owns Charter Communications which is only second to Comcast and historically owned AOL.

because it would be bad for the people.

it is extremely problematic Comrade

its a vertical merge so it shouldnt disrupt bother traditional capitalists
personally i am just waiting for rightwingers to reach the conclusion than the left was right all along
there is no excuse, no: "this isnt real capitalism" this was the logical conclusion and one could see it from a mile

>this isnt real capitalism"
What is real capitalism?
"capitalism" is just a meme Karl Marx created

This is false. Time Warner CABLE was purchased by Charter.

Why is Sup Forums so full of bootlicking plebs?

comunism is just a meme Karl Marx created :^)

dude literally one could see for decades that unless stopped supercorporations would become more powerful that governments

discussing the whole NN thing, it literally seems like your people... or at least poltards believe consumer rights are communism

or that small towns putting their own isps is communism

absolutely unbelievable, up is down was a meme i only thought possible in a distopian reality

Fuck if I know, they both suck and offer inferior broadband and such, not to mention the fact that we don’t have much to choose from either way, I don’t see how this merger would change anything.

>or that small towns putting their own isps is communism
The feds telling states what their municipalities can spend money is probably the worst part of the NN ruling

>offer inferior broadband and such
Timewarner doesnt

>what are psuedomonopolies with government handouts to subsidize the business and stifle competition.

Neck yourself you cucked faggot

When you go on twitter and harass General mills because you don't like the color of your Corn Pops, they respond within 15 minutes and begin issuing new Corn Pops with more nigger Corn Pops. When you attempt the same on any government entity they do not even bother to acknowledge you because none of their jobs depend on it and they couldn't give less of a fuck what you think. Not that this is a good system, hence the nigger Corn Pops. But it is a more dynamic system and one that gives the people what they think they want. Socialism is too unwieldy to ever work on a large population.

this is exactly of what i am talking about

arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2014/02/isp-lobby-has-already-won-limits-on-public-broadband-in-20-states/
>free competition

war is peace i guess

not only will they own the pipe, they will now own some of the content going over the pipe. It can and probably will treat its own content better and with priority.

That is a state issue
It is not the Feds business
They can fuck off

I dont care about their or their competitors content

>i never advocated for communism/socialism

i just said that giving corporations everything they wanted, deregulating them, calling commie to everyone that predicted this, undertaxating the rich and similar breed this problem

some rightwingers aknowledge this but its already too late,

fortunately for the left, supercorporations seem to share their values
doesnt mean they wont rekt them economically

...

this, for people that shout cuck so much they should know it when they see it

None of those companies are trying to take my guns
None of those companies are legally importing millions of third worlders
None of those companies are taxing me
None of those companies are passing anti discrimination laws speech laws

I know japs like monopolies but it's better to always have at least a few companies competing to keep them in check. In this case it's two ISPs, which is already a high entry barrier market and many people aren't in areas where there is competition, this makes that worse.

I like Charter/Spectrum.
They never capped or throttled, there was a time when the internet just turned to shit over a month because they said they were upgrading their servers.
They gave me a month for free and they bumped my speeds from 60mbit to 100mbit for no extra charge.

Spectrum is time Warner's delivery channel, so it's not strictly vertical.

>I can't even browse the internet anymore on an obscure Dominican drywall plastering forum without literal paid shills trying to push agendas

the communists were right, can't wait for you cunts to get yours

you know what?
i embrace corporativism
i know it will destroy all nations eventually
and since i want that i guess i dont really care

Um that would be anticapitalism...

>None of those companies are legally importing millions of third worlders

that's actually where you're wrong, they are the biggest proponents of mass immigration because it creates a surplus of labor, which cheapens the cost they have to pay you. go look at how many corporations are pushing for H1B

Sure. There is nothing wrong with a company buying up all their competition and shutting them down. What could possibly go wrong?

Except AT&T and Time Warner are not competing companies.

>be me
>work 50 hours a week
>faggot company tries to call me on the weekend to get me to do shit
>poor as fuck

I've had enough of you kikes, I'm about to go full blown Leninist

I smell a shill

well even if you dont use AT&T for anything be mad that the DOJ has to spend tax dollars suing AT&T. Plus AT&T isn't without major sin, one of the most recent being taking government grant and subsidies money and not/never meeting their commitments.

The merger is obviously legal, and I'm pretty sure it will go though, so they're just wasting my money.

>everyone sees straight through shill OP's bullshit

But is the Federal government that actually has to bring them her and give them rights

If he threw in a few Hayek/Mises quotes and used the word efficiency a few times he might have have been able to shill me

and the Feds take bribes from major corporations and refuses to end lobbying, so what's your point?

Real capitalism has been around for more 600 years, ever since Dutch East India company started monopolizing spices, and East India Trading companies started monopolizing Tea and sugar.

Competition lowers prices and provides better service.
Monopoly provides higher prices and horrible service. Just look at Comcast for an example.

When you have no choice, companies fuck you with impunity.

This guy gets it.
Lobbying = Legal Bribery

>instead of having government own everything, have one person from someplace somewhere
That's corporate communism

NN stops small towns from creating their own ISPs, not the other way around. NN concentrates power into the FCC rather than the FTC where it was before (and we didnt have entertainment/email/video packages then) and allows entrance of new local ISPs into the market

Lobbying should be punishable under the same clause as treason

retard

that would be truth if FTC hadnt been undermined legally and this wasnt happening o well, at least we agree in something
