Don't know where else to go to ask this
What specifically about the current Net Neutrality rules is bad?

If you rather not say personally, where can I go that explains the negative effects in an objective manner?

It is not the role of government to regulate the free market

Say you have a railroad company, because roadway isn't an appropriate analogy, but regardless, you offer rates for transporting loads from a to b, now this one company wants to transport something that is pretty demanding on a regular basis, it causes your rail lines to be overburderned you try to talk to these folks to accomodate them but they aren't having none of it, they lobby the govt to force you to transport their demanding loads regardless to the cost of your infrasctructure and maintence requried. All because they want the cheap rates that the general public gets but that is nowhere near as demanding to your service.

That's one of the most retarded, an-cuck tier posts I've seen in a while.

Read a book faggot.

It forces ISPs to ignore how much bandwidth Google, Amazon, and Netflix use up on their networks. Those three use up the most per connection and should pay extra for doing so.

I'm sorry is there a difference between a 1gb that comes from netflix vs. a 1gb that comes from the public? Why should they be charged anymore than anyone else?

>cheap rates
triggered, internet is not fucking cheap in this country

The problem with NN as it is, is that is only protects users from ISP's, but not any companies such as Netflix or Google. What we need is a sort of internet bill of rights that criminalizes the censoring of websites that follow the first amendment.

I'm not an anarchist, that's a Friedman position

>actually supporting a guy who gets morphed into oranges
people never did this before. he is a special kind of fake

...

One thing that is being overlooked is that by repealing net neutrality we are indirectly increasing the powers of the government.

Think about it. These ISPs will collaborate/cooperate with the deepstate, the NSA. If the ISPs have the power to block websites for any reason, the government can ask them to block certain content/websites and the ISPs will more than likely comply with the request.

>What specifically about the current Net Neutrality rules is bad?
Americans love 2 thing: Black cock, and kissing corporate ass.

They can charge per-unit prices for peering. (Google uses a thousand times as much as Sup Forums, they pay a thousand times as much.) They just can't charge *different* per-unit prices to different sites.

Probably not, but Netflix, Google or any other streaming site is using way more than the average consumer, I would rather the ISP's profit more from their largest consumbers instead of the regular customer subsidising google, we have to pay for what we use, why shouldn't google?

You are asking the wrong question.

This is not a 1gb from netflix vs 1gb from public issue. This is an 1gb from public vs 1 petabyte from netflix.

Also its the wrong question because the public (typically) does not "host" data. 99% of the time the public only accesses a remote data source.

So you may phrase the question as:

"Is there a difference between 1gb from netflix vs 1gb from youporn.

Yeah. Youporn does not consume 40% of the entire bandwidth of the internet every second of every day, nor does the average end user.

Everything it claims to prevent has already happened and were already resolved via the laws in place already on the books.

Whats happening now is that Netflix is using 40% of the total internet bandwidth and is paying the same rate as someone that uses 1% of the total internet bandwidth.

Net Neutrality the regulation that exist is the reason why gigabit deployment slowed to a crawl and it is harming diversity.

People are rallying and lobbying for netflix, a company that raises their prices even though they've been making record profits.

This is why the last time the NN bullshit came up the route that was taken was the, "muh small businesses wont be able to grow, consolidation of power."

TL;DR, Dems created a boogieman, enacted law to prevent that boogieman from getting the kids, and are now losing their shit and threatening to unleash the boogieman if their needs are not met.

Why can't Netflix be charged more for using 40% of the internet with NN in place?

If I want a 50mb/s connection instead of a 5mb/s, I have to pay more. Use more, pay more. That's how things have always been.

If, say, one Netflix server rack is using 50TB/day, what's stopping the ISPs from charging a rate suitable for 50TB/day usage?

It's about (((their))) globalist agenda. They want to run a prison planet of border-less, race-less, culture-less, nation-less, identity-less subdued sheep. They make up less than 1% of the world's population, yet look at all they control from the world's finances to the media that brainwashes us.

In short, they use the entertainment and news media to encourage globalism and discourage nationalism and traditional western values. They distort and lie about the present and past in that effort.

You'll end up paying more.

You want your porn? pay more shekels!

Because of the current Net Neutrality wording means that making Netflix pay more is creating a "Fast Lane" for Netflix.

>If, say, one Netflix server rack is using 50TB/day, what's stopping the ISPs from charging a rate suitable for 50TB/day usage?
You are confusing storage with distribution. ISPs handle distribution. Netflix handles storage.

A good way to think about it is ISPs are like the companies that build highways, Netflix all of the shipping companies combined. Net Neutrality as implemented is like the government making it so that the road builders cannot charge the shipping companies for high impact areas where their heavy trucks destroy the road, and they will be fined if they don't repair the road in time.

I can't get over you're shitty jpg. what does manipulating pictures of people in photoshop prove? what is the point of this image?

That helps a little, but I still don't understand. Assuming fiber infrastructure is the highway, and trucks are gigabytes:

Say I own a toll road, and Companies A, B, and C are using it. I charge a rate of $1200/mo for up to 30 trucks to use the highway every day. Most days, each company only sends 10-12 trucks.

Company C suddenly takes off, and now sends 30 trucks per day, every day. They request a new contract so they can ship up to 55 trucks/day.

I negotiate a rate of $3500/mo for 55 trucks/day. That will be more than enough to maintain the roads under the added weight. NN laws force me to extend the same rate to Companies A and B. They don't take it, but it's there. I use the increased income from C to widen the highway so C's trucks don't clog it up for A and B.

Is this just a terrible analogy, or am I entirely failing to understand the concept here?

As americans we nees to threaten their power
If theres enough threats to not vote for them or enough of any kind of threat it may just work

Net neutrality here would be the equivalent of forcing toll road operators to charge a fixed price per truck. You would be banned from allowing A's trucks through while banning B's trucks or charging them insane prices because you hate B. This is "good" because everybody needs to use roads and people think that if you shouldn't have the power to decide who gets to use your roads.

On the other hand, you would also be banned from giving A's trucks a volume discount. Which is bad for business, I guess.

Netflix will most likely get dick since most ISPs host cable amd tv
Netflix is directly competing with thatamd if ISPs want to they can censor it

A fucking leaf

Google is censoring the internet because the current regs protect their monopoly.

How so?
