Gintama

Gintama anime returns on 9th of January. You all excited?
As a non-manga reader, I'm very much looking forward to seeing what's going to happen.
Then again, it seems we're in for an entire season of serious arcs, no more gag episodes like we used to have, which is a shame.

Do you think this will be the last season? Will it wrap up along with the manga? Or will we see one more season after this? How much manga does it even have to animate?

Gin will finally decide who is his waifu.

We gonna do this?
Tama>Otae>Kyubei>Donut girl>Whore>demon girl

Kagura is not to be sexualised.

>Donut girl
Holy shit... Who can like that braindead. Tsukki all the way.

I'm not really all that existed, I miss the comedy.

>an entire season of serious arcs
I doubt it unless it's not 4 cour.

is it already confirmed how many episodes its gonna be?

Family Guy: The Anime.

Reminder that Otae fell in love with Gintoki when he called her 'Ojousan'

>I have no idea what I am talking about

...

It's more like "it gets good after 100 episodes" the anime

What are you saying? They have enough material to do 4 cours. And there's no way the can go back and animate the gag chapters they skipped what with how the ended the last season.

Every thread

Going by looks here, not personality. Also I know everyone loves Tsukki but I never really got that. Tsundere isn't my thing.
Tama is best girl. Though she'll end up with Yamazaki sadly.

I hate that this stigma exists. Gintama threads would be a lot more common and lively if people just gave it a chance.
I myself had no problem at all with the first 20 episodes. But people are warned so much that Gintama only gets good after X amount of episodes, that they just don't even try.
Gintama is an amazing anime, my absolute favourite. Stop scaring potential fans away, Gintama is the best 300+ series I've ever watched, the way the quality stays top-notch after so long is fucking unheard of. All other long-running shounens turn to shit, Gintama always stays amazing.

i'm not exited at all ! infact i wasn't exited to the ovas ! i don't fell like gintama is the best anime after watching the latest season ,i remember i couldn't sleep when the 2nd movie released . is there is something wrong with me?

gintama is one of the most overrated anime

> The only popular hetero pairing in Japan

Why is Okikagu not canon?

Because Ginhiji is the most popular and will never be canon.

I started when they aired 182th and it was instant love and later i enjoyed the first episodes too. I just wanted to check neverending shounens and everything i dropped quickly except Gintama.

> even fujos like it
I don't know user.

Keep that degenerate sadist away from pure Kagura

Ha, that's awesome

>It's more like "it gets good after 100 episodes" the anime

More like it gets good after the second episode

Yeah, the first two episodes are anime original and they're terrible. I think that's what puts most people off.

If you don't exist how are you posting

Don't worry user. Unless this pulls a naruto/beach on the parings I'm sure it will become canon.

Cause japan's dumb

stfu i bet you didnt even watch when it gets good

>I-if you don't like it you must be watching it wrong!
Fuck off all of you. It never got better.
I want my 30 hours back.

To be fair, Gorilla is pushing Kagura/Sougo a bit. They share the most lines and fights, and they bicker all the time.

The first 10-15 episodes definitely were a bit of a drag. (And yeah the first two were plain bad)

It was this awkward phase where Gorilla wasn't fully confident how hard he can push his humor. He played it safe and tried to introduce all characters properly and give appropriate screen time without scaring away the readers or making everything seem too busy.

After that it's a smooth sail and he no longer stops before jumping. I guess you can kinda blame it on the sheer number of characters, and the fact that he just wanted to get the icky introductions out of the way as fast as possible, despite the costs.

Of course that's just my opinion, I might be wrong, but I definitely remember that it was a couple dozens episodes later that I laughed for the first time. (Which for me is rare anyway, generally I just smile or exhale air out of my nose)

This.

I don't see how anyone can not think they're going to be an item at this point. Even in movies they get paired together.
Can't find the full fight unfortunately

>Tama
A-user.
I'm sorry ;_;
Nah the first 50 episodes have plenty of good bits.
I actually just started the anime about two months ago and I'm happy I did. Definitely one of the best anime I've watched in a long time.
Is anyone actually able to pick a favorite OP/ED? They're all just too good.
youtube.com/watch?v=11uUb2hN4Cw

Because she is a good imouto that loves her Onii-chan.

Gintama is the only anime that actually makes me laugh out loud. Like you said, it's usually smiling/exhaling air from your nose, but Gintama has me in stitches, which if you research it, is actually really fucking rare if you're watching something alone. Laughing generally happens in groups.

I'm completely fine with this and Zaki/Tama, just as long as Tsukki gets the G.
Sarutobi is least best girl.

>serious arcs

No thanks thats always been the worst part of Gintama.

>MADs
Honestly this is what got me into finally watching Gintama.

NEVER FAILS

youtube.com/watch?v=Oea7qpEN5cI

I actually heard that the opening skit they did for the second season (Gintoki apologizing like that official) was one of their biggest controversies in Japan since they're all about being honorable and shit towards old people.

user please, GinKagu is strong as fuck in the movie.

You asked for it:

Hijikata episodes are always great.

I like the serious arcs. They just not to be interspersed between lots of gag episodes. But Gintama is only serious arcs right now, and though there's humour, it's still not as good as it used to be.
I hope the anime makes some original episodes, or at least some omakes. They did a few in the beginning and they were genuinely great (not counting EP1 and 2 obviously)

There like daughter and father user

take your degenracy elsewhere

I'll never not laugh at edgy Shinpachi

No one's going to end up together. Sorachi might parody and make an ending of crackship parings but no one's gonna get together seriously

Kagura is not to be sexualised.

>remember when Gintama was still able to make fun of the main villain
Utsuro is without a doubt the single worst aspect of the manga at this point

user....

They haven't made fun of takasugi either if I can recall corectly

We need more Okikagu and Gindad-Kagutheru arts, anons.

Just gags with Pedo-feminist. And the reunion skit and his letters.
But never anything really wacky.

You can't. Utsuro is the anti-thesis to the comedy aspects of Gintama

They often almost did, but it always turned out to be that lolicon henchman with a facemask on. Gorilla took extra care not to make fun of actual Takasugi

It's been a while since I watched Gintama. Can anyone remind me what redeemed Jirocho in the end? I was so ready for this guy to die after the Otoso scene in the graveyard (which is also undeniably the best scene in Gintama).

I hate how every Gintama villain is redeemed in the end. Sometimes you just want an evil villain. Even that Yato boss in WhoreTown got redeemed.
Anyway, I even remember making a thread about Jirocho back when I watched Four Deva's, hoping he'd die horribly, but everyone was like "sorry, user".
So what made Jirocho good in the end again? I fucking hated him like no other villain.

Scans never.

Jesus Christ user. Pay attention, or at least go back and rewatch the 4 Deva arc

He gave Otose a non-fatal wound to put her out of commission but also ensure she was safely away for all the shit he was about to put against Kada. He promised Tatsugorou he would protect Kabuki-chou and in his own way that's exactly what he's been doing by fighting the Harusume from the shadows. Granted he did neglect the shit out of his wife and child by abandoning them to doing so. That's where the redemption element comes into play

Jirocho was a great character, glad he's coming back for the last arc

I don't want to see this.

Is GinKagu more popular than GinTsu in Japan??

Sad, but it's true.

GinHiji >>>> OkiKagu > TakaZura > HijiOki > random fujoshit pairing > GinKagu > GinTsu

At first I thought this anime was fucking stupid but then starts giving me life lessons and some episodes turned me into crybaby. It's show where you mixed Clannad with comedy, action, and ayy lmaos.

Fuck, I completely forgot about that. It's been years man. Still, 4 Deva's was an amazing arc, I should rewatch it.
That scene though. Gintoki losing his shit for the very first time after seeing Otose there and just whacking Jirocho like that.

I am a massive pervert but I can never fap to Gintama porn. Have you seen some of the doujins out there? They're written like actual chapters, gags and everything. It just feels so wrong. It also often involves Kagura which is just wrong. I often fap to loli but somehow Kagura can not be sexualised.

MISTER RAINDROP

>Kagura
>Pure

The stupidity of the dumb cuckz on this page.

Talking about OST/OP/ED, Wo Ai Ni is fucking god tier

Tama's dead ?

Spoiler me.

Let's not forget Conveyor Belt
youtube.com/watch?v=4-WqkCZ7p-o

And probably the very, very best soundtrack
youtube.com/watch?v=vmo6SsHDN8U

Only gintama that makes a filler episode good.

Only futureKagura can be sexualised, not Kagutheru.

Even as a JoJo fan, when i saw this arc 4 years ago i didn't like it, but this track is one of my favorites.
youtube.com/watch?v=APxItzQsP_Y

Wo Ai Ni is still top 3 in my book, but it was a while since i listened to Gintama music, not counting the last one we had.

>Tama's dead ?

She becomes a maid in the shop below Gintoki's office.

Gintama live action always good. 100% accurate.

Only Gintama could make cry when my emotions were shut off.

I already knew that.

I thought shes dead again after goodbye shinsengumi arc (i never read the mangas)

They didn't do a lot of filler though, did they? I think three episodes in total that were completely original. Not counting the 5 minutes of a shot of Yorozuya with the gang talking over it which happened quite a lot. Or the live action parts.

I think they did away with that in the latest series though. Maybe because Bamco did it instead of Sunrise or something? They used to use a lot of meta-humour, even though Gintama is full of meta-humour in itself.

I don't read the manga either. I love to experience Gintama in animated form. The voice cast and OST is amazing.

Fuck I hope Tama isn't dead. I'm sure she's not.

Tama lives but a supporting character along with the ugly hags.

Yes, we know. That was 200 episodes ago. You're saying this like it's a big plot twist in the current manga.

I'm not Tama is alive.

Everyone bickers in this fucking series. That means nothing.

Look, I'm not advocating Kagura/Sougo, but it takes a fool not to see the chemistry Gorilla puts in there. Pachi and Gin bicker, Otose and Katherine bicker, no one ships them.

>shipping and pairing shit
>in this fucking series

So many great reaction faces in Gintama

>he's coming back for the last arc
Source?

Don't forget.

> the only hetero in the poll
Come on gorila, the fans want it.

Everyone is. Last arc is basically letting the full roster of a musou game free into an entire army. Sure, they're only 50, but that's still enough if you can just fling them left and right.

Only Gintama makes me miss filler episodes. Last season only had a few remarks to the anime industry at the beginning. After that, it was just your average adaption.

Basically every scene about the anime studio was filler. Yamazaki infiltrating the Joui patriots was extended for half an episode. We got end of the year specials, etc.
They also changed the director. The orignal director was working on Osomatsu while Gintama aired, which shows.

Wait, tama is permanently dead in manga ?

No, reading comprehension, user. The dude said Tama worked with Otsose and Katherine like it's a plot twist, but that happened 200 episodes ago. Tama is fine.

>Gintama anime returns on 9th of January.
YES
YEEEEESSSSSS

The second half of the first "spirit of the sword" episode (with the Shinsengumi waking up in a completely white world) also was filler. All, the recap or meta episodes that usually happened around the time of new openings in the original anime run also were filler of course. Episode 57, with the Justank, also was filler.

Also, looking at the Japanese wikipedia - it turns out that the first two episodes WEREN'T filler. They're actually based on a rejected chapter (I guess there's a reason it was rejected...).

Gintama never went into filler arcs, but there was quite a bit of filler spread between the actual adaptations before the most recent season.

>tfw I liked all the episodes.

A man of true taste!

All robots are dead anons. Kin and Tama are gone.
