After reading the novel I wondered how they were going to adapt the whole "hands into plants"/give up his humanity thing. Suffice it to say, it was incredible.

My only criticism of that last fight would be that there was no build up to the plant arms - there was never narration in the movie (unlike the book) where Ararararagi talked about life being easier were he a plant/not a human, and the movie also had very little about him being torn between still feeling human despite being a vampire, and his struggle to let that go to save Hanekawa
