Why has discussing politics ANYWHERE become so toxic over the past couple of years?

Why has discussing politics ANYWHERE become so toxic over the past couple of years?

Irreconcilable differences. Our counter culture is now diametrically opposed.

Because collectivism is based on and thrives in division/conflict. Why do you think Marxists and Fascists both hated Classical Liberalism and the enlightenment?

Social media has made everyone feel so self-important that they think their political opinions are good and matter at all

Liberals are encouraged to yell at people with contradicting opinions

2008:
>tacit accusations of racism for criticizing Obama
>republican party begins to cuck
2012:
>overt accusations of racism for disagreeing with brown people
>everyone begins to catch on to cuckservatism
2016:
>identity politics allows everyone on the left to declare themselves good and all else evil
>cuckservativsm and neoliberalism allows a one-time professional wrestler to become President of the US
2017:
>the left begins to label themselves as the only bastion of human decency and freely attacks their opponents with bike locks and mob violence
>the President keeps shitposting on Twitter, driving establishment types to REEE and anti-establishment right wingers to further support him

Everyone has either joined an extremist faction in politics or checked out.

mister tromb :]

Social media, the rise of SJWs which spawned the alt-right (both are the same shit).

So basically Americans fucking shit up, as usual.

Moderates have been driven under haven't they? Extreme voices are now the loudest in all movements and more moderate voters/pundits have been driven either more extreme or to other movements.

Case in point; liberals and conservatives flooding the Liberty movement while the SJWs and alt-right go to war, or everyone becoming literal Nazi's and Commies overnight.

>US government realizes that people are strong because of social media
>How can we win?
>Sun Tzu says divide and conquer
>Okay lets just elect the two most divisive candidates possible
>Done.

Neocons and Neoliberals are not moderates, they're just another faction of extremisim. They do after all consider bombing foreign countries into adopting their moral values as a way of conducting diplomacy.

We live in age of choatic pluralism, where everyone has a voice.

>Americans fucking shit up
Antifa was a European problem first.

>Extreme voices are now the loudest in all movements
They always were. They just got loud enough to disgust moderates to the point that quitting was preferable.

It's not that neocons and neoliberals are extremists, they're two parts of a meta-faction that puts establishing and maintaining an oligarchy ahead of whatever petty social issues they like to argue. Ben Shapiro is a good example: he likes to be flamboyant about his views on transvestites and other trumped-up inane bullshit, but he's obviously more concerned about his idea of maintaining the status-quo.

> They just got loud enough to disgust moderates to the point that quitting was preferable.
Question though, aren't the left defending their extremists? Antifa, BlackLivesMatter etc?

[activates almondized]

because even light disagreements are met with "literally Hitler"

Yes, but it was obvious in June they do not want to. Schumer wanted to try and earn blue-collar workers back, so Trump played his hand and recommended an end to transgender service in the military and took credit for Foxconn's Wisconsin factory investment in the same day. I don't know if that was intentional, but if it was, that was a masterfully executed shitshow.

Blame the left. They went full retard, full social justice inquisition mode. Never forget the twitter mobs getting people fired, never forget GG or everyones a nazi bigot islamaphobe misogynist. Never forget ugly fembots screeching naked in the streets. Riots, BLM, antifa, censorship, leftist politicians virtue signalling, the list goes on and on and on. Political everything is off the rails because of the left. Nevar forget.

Because the current system is unsustainable. We have a shit ton of debt and we are currently riding this country into the fucking dirt. There isn’t anyway to stop it.

Because if this some have surmised that radical problems require radical solutions. The communist vs fascist debate of the early 20th century has returned with the power of the internet to disseminate information.

Basically the only thing we are waiting for now is an economic collapse to spur on the change. People won’t fight now because they are comfortable. Remove that comfort and you’ll see the same upheavals of the 20th century but in a much greater scale due to our technological advancements. We have learned nothing from the past 80 years and History is a harsh teacher. As for what arises from the ashes of these incoming upheavals, I haven’t the faintest clue.

Mods are banning people for the most retarded reasons in concert with the recent shill waves. A mod or mods are working directly with shills. Watch out guys.

You're underselling Trump's bullshit. I personally love it, but it's driving more moderates into submission. The one thing you can count on in 2020 is it will have the lowest turnout yet.

Because if you don’t regurgitate tired leftist talking points, you’re called a nazi. Ironically, this has created many actual Nazis

Because progressives think they're holier than thou and have no sense of humor (or think they do while regurgitating the lamest "jokes" from The Daily Show or whatever). By contrast, young conservatives like shitposting and enraging these sanctimonious leftists.

Since conservatives have been silenced for so long and are getting actively censored for wrongthink by Google/Facebook/etc, it's unlikely that their shitposting is going to taper off. And people like me, who aren't strictly conservative but are free speech absolutists, are basically on the side of conservatives until progressives stop REEEing.

...

Literally this. Theres no longer any middle ground- if im only mildly liberal, im accused of being a rightwing extremist, if im only mildly rightwing, im accused of being a cuck. On top of that, middle grounders who say "i see benefits in both sides" are seen as waffling turncoats, which historically, is accurate.
Politics have polarized, and people on both sides now feel as if they live in a different country than the ones on the other side.
In my uneducated opinion, id say we're due for something of a cold civil war- neither side really wants to sacrifice the comforts of the current comfort to really try to tear down the system and start over, but neither side wants to live around the other. It's going to get substantially worse before either side really goes full out

the current government*
