Never ever EVER because the fanbase is too niche, probably.
It's not quite moe enough for iyashikei regulars, nor tilted inward enough culturally for general otaku, and too few patricians are aware and invested enough to support it financially.
At least the OVAs are good, and the manga itself is still tops.

I really wouldn't want it to be done under the normal conditions of a TV anime with all the slopiness and rushed production schedules. The second episode of the first OVA is a masterpiece and I'm fine with that standing on its own with the manga to read.

I think it would be really hard to make it a series. If we ever, if that, get another YKK animated announcement, I would expect it to be an OVA again.
I feel the manga relies on narrative elements that only manga can provide, like the time skips or the "sound" type of vive that Ashinano gives his drawings, it's crazy. You just cannot make an anime adaptation that makes justice to that, reason why I think the animated chapters were mostly ones where Alpha was with Kokone, Oji-san or Takahiro.
