It totally isn't though at all. The first raves were held in the 80s and featured house music which was invented by blacks in Chicago and techno which was invented by blacks in Detroit. The term "house music" originated from a Chicago club called The Warehouse, which existed from 1977 to 1983. It is largely credit to a a black man DJ Frankie Knuckles.
