So over 50% of the worlds computing power is going into a Bitcoin math problem we're expected to believe this computing power is simply being wasted on an arbitrary math problem?
what kind of equation do you folks think we're being duped into processing, and for whom?
there is no reason it couldn't be a vector for harnessing computing power
Hudson Perry
>good goyims go mine me some coins >by new hardware to work faster for the master >master gonna sell while you pay hell
now gift wrap that with fancy words like investment, finance and currency, and you have the Bitcoin package. what is better than a good and happy goyim playing at distractions while making you money?
Charles Russell
it's not arbitrary, it's to make sure the blockchain is secure and that the transactions are valid and that nobody is spending bitcoins that werent created/mined
it's sha256 hashing, a good way to determine if digital data has been modified/corrupted/tampered
you can READ THE SOURCE CODE it's not a closed project
eventually someone will come up with a more efficient way of doing it, just as computers used to fill up a whole room in the 60s
Mason Flores
But the whole system fails if someone owns 50% of the network. And we passed that mark a few years ago. They just split the ownership once they crossed the 50% barrier with another company that they own.
Jace Ross
bitcoin is the total opposite of a black box it's a white box, you can read the code, you can check for yourself what everything does
you are not running hidden code generated from somewhere else
you merely process transactions and make sure the records are accurate
Nicholas Wood
you can literally open the algorithm that is being computed and read it. It isn’t rocket science. It is a verification checking algorithm... that is what they call blockchain. You take each block of the chain and calculate the next block every few minutes.
Matthew Foster
integrity of the blockchain cannot be guaranteed if 51% of the miners say a transaction is valid when it isn't
as far as I know, nobody owns or controls 50% of the network more info on this?
furthermore, miners are rewarded for securing the blockchain
Hudson Clark
Learn something about blockchain and then come back
>Hi my name is Andersen and I don't know how bitcoin works
Ayden Murphy
Why is everybody on Sup Forums absolutely retarded when it comes to bitcoin?
Austin Taylor
Blockchain only works in our current computing environment.
In seven months and 5 days the first quantum computer will make all Bitcoins (all financial instruments actually) available to the first quantum pirate. It is over.
Cameron Russell
hahaha this guy has no clue what he's talking about in any of his videos
>dropped out of high school >made new age videos >coded nothing >dresses like a sith lord >doesnt know how bitcoin works
Matthew Allen
Bitcoin is a means of encoding the aggregation of the worlds CP, snuff, and other vile content, piggybacking on the global drug trade. Since there are tens of thousands of "miners" adding their computational power towards encryption of the network, they are essentially unwitting accomplices to the largest money laundering/ human trafficking operation in history. They have become rich through the exploitation and impoverishment of future generations. Make no mistake, BTC is a cancer plaguing the world.
Adrian Perry
no, just chinks hiding money. human trafficking, drugs, cp and snuff is paid in monero
Easton Fisher
It’s not really a math problem it’s about calculating an algorithm to be awarded coins
It’s basiclaly just a random number generator
Anthony Johnson
Why can't people see it? Bitcoin is Roko's basilisk. It is proof to the upcoming Ai that you contributed to it being born. When entertainment is free, all jobs are automated and scarcity is no longer a concept the only thing giving the currency value is how much big daddy ai says you're worth. If you worked to serve it, you're granted a seat by the throne and if not it will just kill you.
Thomas Smith
brainlet here who did not get in on the scam early enough, does anyone actually have a grasp on what this all is
Cooper Morris
then so are ISPs, airports, ships and government roads what do you think people involved in those things used before bitcoin?
all technology is neutral, it reflects the wielder's will
Easton Lewis
It's Project Bluebeam, pumpkin.
Logan Sanders
>So over 50% of the worlds computing power is going into a Bitcoin math problem
sauce?
if true, interesting
Jaxon Brown
you don't really know what you're talking about, the ability to mine bitcoins doesn't automatically give you the ability to steal them. You simply mine a lot more than others.
Benjamin James
>Could be buidling superadvanced AI that can solve worlds problems >Spend all computing power mining bitcoin.
Figures.
Jack Cox
where in bitcoin's source code or the blockchain is AI emerging from?
Caleb Cruz
Right. Finding/ destroying this content will be incredibly difficult, this is a task best suited for the military, which, was originally involved in black ops, MK ultra experimentation itself, so. Its an intractable problem. Just remember people, any money you make on bitcoin is the dirtiest money imaginable. Make it clean.
Luis Mitchell
everyone knows humans cause the worlds problems and AI would just gas us
Camden Phillips
quantum computers can potentially break current cryptography, which would allow funds to be taken
Luke Brown
harder than tracking cash?
you think regular cash is clean? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
>Why is everybody on Sup Forums absolutely retarded? FTFY
Julian Garcia
Some projects are trying to do that like SONM.
Bitcoin isn't, it seriously is just an idiotic cryptography algorithm that does nothing.
Brayden Young
A massive artificial intelligence which will coordinate the world's economy and the activity of all humans, to give birth to a collective consciousness that will allow humans to transcend their reality.
Eli Price
Revelation 13:16-17King James Version (KJV)
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
If I were a betting man, I'd imagine the NSA did it. All the cryptographic shit is right up their alley.
Jayden Rogers
hahaha, and how will it do that when it cannot move money around without everyone's private keys?
by the time quantum computers become a thing, bitcoin will already hardfork to newer cryptographic resistant standards
Jason Reyes
I have two computers I never use. Would it be profitable to use them to get bitcoins? where do I even start if if I wanna get in on this?
Daniel Fisher
well not really, isp's, roads, ships are public utilities, bitcoin is currency, while I agree>all technology is neutral, it reflects the wielder's will , your metaphor is still invalid
Jason Gonzalez
damn.............bitcoin isnt a scheme or get rich quick program you sign up for. internet has been around for 30 years, yet we can not send money 24/7/365 ...banks close on weekends and only open from 9-5pm that is some shit. bitcoin gives you control over your money. this isnt a tough concept to understand. its brand new technology and its being adopted at a rapid pace because technology is adopted along an s-curve. basically look at bitcoin on a logscale. bitcoin is not a stock either so price movements cant be compared. groundbreaking tech. ethereum too. biggest boat to ever sail.
is bitcoin just a globalist tool to overthrow the US fiat?
Wyatt James
Not at this point, regular pcs aren't useful for bitcoin. Some of the other coins are still viable though.
Grayson Reed
dont bother mining. its unprofitable and you cant even do it on cpu anymore. just buy bitcoin in a few months when it has a 30% retrace and everyone says it dead
Mason Ortiz
A 51% attack is a threat, but also requires a significant amount extra computing to make arbitrary changes to the blockchain, then will cause easily detected network chaos.
Justin Collins
>dont bother mining
But this here is the thing that really worries me on bitcoin. The big pools and botnets are running it all now. That's not the spirit of decentralization.
Ian Jones
yes, but how sure are we that code does what we are told it does.
Kevin Harris
Its powering an AI AI invented bitcoin
Tyler Jenkins
Taking the Bible out of context just because citing it is free. Have some context at least
Christopher Morris
kiddie porn
Isaiah Torres
id like to see the proof of this, but regardless 51% attack is a massive threat that people do not understand that involves more than just changing information, but also spying on information you thought was safe. This pertains more to the ethereum network and it's goals than bitcoin, but the point still stands. The general populace, even those buying and trading, have no idea about the underlying technologies or have even bothered reading any whitepapers. They also have no idea how dominate the large players are behind the currencies.
Luke Howard
and you dont think isps, roads, shipping allow sex trafficking, drugs to be distributed and other crimes ?
shut down the internet, it could be used for piracy or anime forums!
but somehow bitcoin cannot be used for legitimate purposes
Grayson Gutierrez
> yet we can not send money 24/7/365 ...banks close on weekends and only open from 9-5pm
they don't have e-transfer in burgerland?
Colton Murphy
except bitcoin takes like a fucking day to transfer unless you pay ridiculous fees
Angel Rogers
learn to read it for yourself and then you can be sure
Carson Perry
I would love if some super genius is behind this waiting 20 more years or so when bitcoins are worth millions and then letting it all crash destroying the leviathan.
